Chapter-head: number, title and subtitle

Dear all, This is the upper half of a post I submitted on jan 7 with two questions (which was rather foolish of me), of which the second has already been answered by Aditya Mahajan. The first, still open, question was: Presently I’m restyling a PhD-dissertation to make it conform to the requirements of an external publisher. One of the items is the content and layout of the chapter-heads. What would be needed as a chapter-head, of Chapter 1 for instance, is, on two or, occasionally three, lines: - Chapter 1 (midaligned, boldface, smallish size (\tfa)) - some vertical space - Chapter title (midaligned, SmallCaps, slanted, \tfc) - some vertical space - (for some chapters) Chapter subtitle, (midaligned, SmallCaps, slanted, \tfb or smaller) Can ConTeXt be tweaked to yield such a chapter-head? problem with math: "\left" leads to "udefined symbol"

hi everybody, after a 2 year hiatus I'm just giving `context' a second try (so, really not much experience so far). I updated to the latest version (0.63) before proceeding. two observations: 1. in a new document including assorted equations everything went fine until I tried something like \startformula x = \left 1 + 2 \right \stopformula which caused an error: 8<------------------------------------------------------------------ ! Undefined control sequence \strc_synonyms_insert_meaning ...urrentsynonymtag {#2}\fastsetup {\??simplel... \math_left ...ame \??mathleft \meaning \nexttoken \endcsname \expandafter \l... l.472 x = \left ( 1 + 2 \right ) 8<------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. an old document (not modified these 2 years) does no longer compile due to apparently the same problem (not understanding `\left', `\right'. question: my understanding is, that `context' supports "everything" out of the box (notably equations) and there is no need for explicit loading of additional packages? so `\left' etc. _should be defined (and it _used_ to work 2 years ago)? what am I missing? thx, joerg -- Using Opera's revolutionary email client: http://www.opera.com/mail/

Chapter-subtitle and a short version of a( long) chapter title to fit in the header

Dear all, Presently I’m restyling a PhD-dissertation to make it conform to the requirements of an external publisher. One of the items is the form of the chapter-heads. What would be needed on the first page of a chapter, Chapter 1 for instance, is: - Chapter 1 (midaligned, boldface, smallish size (\tfa)) - some vertical space - Chapter title (midaligned, SmallCaps, slanted, \tfc) - some vertical space - (for some chapters) Chapter subtitle, (midaligned, SmallCaps, slanted, \tfb or smaller) Furthermore I would need a header with the chapter-title on the even-numbered pages and the section-title on the odd-numbered pages. The problem here is that some of the chapter titles are too long for this and they overlap the pagenumbers in the header. That is why I would need a shorter form of the chapter title and in some cases a main title and a subtitle. As far as I know, in the command to start a chapter there is no possibility to introduce, in addition to the special version of the title for the ToC, another special, shorter, version of the title for the header. nor a subtitle. I use: \startchapter[bookmark=,list={Accompaniment in the 16th and 17th century and the development of BC},marking=,reference=ch:HistDevel,title={Accompaniment in the sixteenth and seventeenth century and the development of basso continuo}]%[a=a,b=b] For the headertexts I use what I found on http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Headers_and_Footers and it works quite well: %%%%%%%%%%% \setupheadertexts[] \setupheadertexts[\setups{text a}][][][\setups{text b}] \startsetups[text a] \rlap{\sc \getmarking[section]} \hfill \llap{\pagenumber} \stopsetups \startsetups[text b] \rlap{\pagenumber} \hfill \llap{\sc \getmarking[chapter]} \stopsetups %%%%%%%%%%% So my main problem is that I need, in the command \startchapter, a third form for the chapter title to fit in the header and a compatible version of the setup for the headertexts. BUG(?): asciimath does not support ||

Dear devs, In mathematics the norm of something is usually denoted by the double vertical bars, e.g. ||v||. This is not available in asciimath. \usemodule[asciimath] \starttext $\asciimath{ x^* = min { x | sum_{kk} ||f(x_{kk}^{20})|| } }$ \stoptext Could you please add this to the parser? Cheers, Henri

Using key as numbering in \placepublications

Hi, I'm writing my thesis using ConTeXt but I'm not satisfied with the way the publication list is displayed. I'd like to display the key, in brackets, in front of every publication in the list (i.e. replace the [2] numbering in front of it by [Sha07] for example). The numbering option only offers yes, no, short and bib. I'd like a "key" option. How can I achieve that? Any clue, example and/or suggestion is welcome, Thanks in advance, Antoine

Custom pretty printer pass option to buff-imp-<mycustomformat>.lua

I'm customizing a pretty printer and referencing the buff-imp-lua.lua and buff-imp-lua.mkiv files. I'd like to add a conditional to the .lua file say buff-imp-custom.lua. What is a good way to pass an option from my .tex file to conditionally format with the pretty printer? I'd like to use the same buff-imp-custom.lua and .mkiv pairs of files instead of creating multiple files. The .mkiv file defines e.g.: \definetyping [CUSTOM1] [\c!option=custom] I'd like to add say CUSTOM2 but pass an option that would be visible to the same buff-imp-custom.lua file. Perhaps something like this?: \definetyping [CUSTOM2] [\c!option=custom,<option visible to same lua file as CUSTOM1?>] Thanks -- Lorenz

nested colors problem

dorecurse problem

ConTeXters, When \dorecurse is active in the following MWE, the lines of text are overprinted. At least, this is the case for me, please confirm it for yourself. When \dorecurse is disabled, the lines print as they should, separately. Please tell me what I am doing wrong with this, if anything, and how to fix it. (Running ConTeXt ver: 2017.01.17 17:37 MKIV beta fmt: 2017.1.19 on Win10 x64.
