Undefined control sequence | $\shortmid$ | $\shortparallel$

Although I've enabled this module: \usemodule[fnt-25] both of the following: $\shortmid$ $\shortparallel$ result in: tex error ... ! Undefined control sequence Does anyone know if these commands are available under in math mode? twoside layout

Is it possible to set only the textwidth and the inner margin for a twosided layout? Dear Dalyoung, Thank you for your feedback. Indeed, \startcombinantion produces centered combinations by default. The problem is, that within the combination I would like to use floats defined with \setupfloat. This is not supported by \startcombination. I noticed that line 490 of pack-com.mkiv has an added \dontleavehmode in the definition of \pack_combinations_start_float. When deleting this, the combination is centered. What is the reason for \dontleavehmode here? Is packing floats inside a floatcombination not recommended in general? Any feedback is welcome Cheers, Christoph

question about \setupitemgroup

Dear list, I have the following sample: \setupwhitespace[5em] \startsetups[smallwspa] \setupwhitespace[small] \setupblank[small] \stopsetups \setupitemize[each][indenting=no, setups=smallwspa] \starttext \input knuth \startitemize \dorecurse{5}{\item this is my item\par second paragraph\par third paragraph } \stopitemize \stoptext I’m trying to get a \blank[small] separation for paragraphs inside items and a \blank[medium] separation between items. I’m afraid that neither the after, inbetween and setups keys are working? How could I get these different separations for items and for paragraphs inside them? Interrupt section numbering

Hi together, this should be straightforward, but I can’t find how to do it: I need to interrupt the automatical section numbering, because I need an order like 1 1.1 1.2 2 2.1 2.2 3a 3a.1 3a.2 3b 3b.1 4 4.1 etc. In enumerations I can use start and continue - but in sections? floatcombination alignment has changed?

Dear Christoph, I don’t know how to put figures horizontally using “\startfloatcombination”. Is there any reason to use “\startfloatcombination”? I usually use the following code when I need to display the figures. It is displayed horizontally and center aligned nicely. \useMPlibrary[dum] \starttext \placefigure{}{ \startcombination[2*1] {\externalfigure[cow.pdf]}{} {\externalfigure[cow.pdf]}{} \stopcombination} \stoptext Best regards, Dalyoung

grid snapping problem

Dear context users: I would like to use grid snapping in my document: main text lines should be aligned to grid lines but figure caption text should not. I have this code: \setuplayout[grid=yes] \showgrid \setupcaptions[width=fit,align=last,headstyle={\ss\bfx},style={\ss\tfx}] \starttext \subsection{Subsection title} \input dawkins \input dawkins %startlinecorrection \startbaselinecorrection \setuplocalinterlinespace[line=2.2ex] \placefigure[][]{\input zapf }{\framed[width=0.6\textwidth,height=10ex]{figure}} \stopbaselinecorrection %stoplinecorrection \subsection{Subsection title} \input dawkins \subsection{Subsection title} \input dawkins \input dawkins \stoptext You can see that the caption is typeset as I wanted: smaller line height and it is not aligned to grid lines. But the main text after the figure is not aligned to the grid on the same page. How can I correct this? On the next page the main text is snapped to the grid again. Thank you in advance, bcsikos

floatcombination alignment has changed?

Hi, In recent versions of ConTeXt, floatcombinations are not placed centered by default anymore. Consider the following MWE in which two cows are placed side by side: \placefigure{}{ \startfloatcombination \placefigure{}{\externalfigure[cow.pdf]} \placefigure{}{\externalfigure[cow.pdf]} \stopfloatcombination} In version 2016.07.01_16.28, the combination is placed horizontally. In the latest version, the combination is flushed to the left. Is this change by intention? If yes, could please anybody tell me how to restore the previous behavior; changing the "location" does not help. Thank you for your effort. Cheers, Christoph
