issue with doublesided

Dear list, using the doublesided alternative such as in: \setuppagenumbering[alternative=doublesided] \starttext \dorecurse{15}{\input zapf\par} \stoptext I always get a final even page, either empty or not. I don’t have access to a printer, so I have to rely on copy-shops. And sometimes I forgot that the printing should leave the final blank page. placeformula and startmathcases give no numbered formula

Hello, I know there is troubles with formula numbering (according to the wiki) but this one is not in the list: When I use smartmathcase in a placeformula context, the formula is not numbered and reference to the formula in the text doesn't work. Sample: \starttext This gives the numbered \in{formula}[myFormula]. \placeformula[myFormula]{ \startformula f(x) = a x + b \stopformula } … but this gives the unnumbered \in{formula}[myBraceFormula]. \placeformula[myBraceFormula]{ \startformula f(x) = \startmathcases \NC x, \NC if $0 \le x \le \frac12$ \NR \NC 1-x ,\NC if $\frac12 \le x \le 1$ \NR \stopmathcases \stopformula } \stoptext This is just for info, I changed my text so I don't need to refer to my formula. \textreference

I thought that \textreference will print its text (Foo) in difference to \reference. With current minimal I can see no difference between both. \starttext \textreference[foo]{Foo} \reference[bar]{Bar} \about[foo] and \about[bar] \atpage[bar] \stoptext Herbert

Three questions about descriptions

Dear All, I’d like to use a mechanism that allows me to create an itemized list with my own labels like one can with descriptions: \definedescription[outline][ headstyle=bold,style=normal,alternative=hanging,margin=1cm,distance=-.8cm] \starttext \outline[Welcome] Tea \outline[Introduction] Tufte or Knuth? \outline[Snack] Chocolate Cake \outline[Discussion] Knuth or Tufte? \outline[Open End] Bear and wine \stoptext However, instead of the above I would like to — have the result “packed”, i.e. without lines between the descriptions — have a stopper (“:”) after the label — have the text of the description begin after the stopper and not at a fixed indentation (distance=…) How do I do that? This is what I did: 1. I went to http://tug.org/svn/texlive/trunk/Master/bin/armel-linux/ I clicked on `context` and then on the first `download` on the page (behind Links to HEAD). That brought me to a page saying: `link ../../texmf-dist/scripts/context/stubs/unix/context`. I don't know whether I took the correct steps and how to proceed. 2. I went to http://tug.org/svn/texlive/trunk/Master/bin/armhf-linux/ and performed the same steps as under 1. with the same result. 3. I went to http://svn.contextgarden.net/suite-bin/tex/armel-linux/ and clicked on `luatex` and on the following page again on `luatex`. I saved the file `luatex` (7.6 MB) but I don't know what to do with this file. I changed the permission so that it can be executed. But execution gave the error message: `Failed to execute child process "/home/sytse/context/luatex" (No such file or directory)`. Sytse

Dear list members, Recently I purchased a Minix NEO X7 mediaplayer on which I managed to install Ubuntu (or rather: Xubuntu) 14.04. When I then tried to install the ConTeXt Standalone suite I immediately received the message: > Error: your system "Linux armv7l" is not supported yet. > Please report to the ConTeXt mailing-list (ntg-context(a)ntg.nl) The latter is what I am doing now. I was however able to Install ConTeXt from the Ubuntu repositories without a any problem. FYI: the Minix NEO X7 is based on a Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A9 processor with Quad-Core Mali-400 GPU. pagenumber suppression howto?

My goal is pages without header info at the top and text plus a pagenumber on the bottom. This can be accomplished by: \setupheader[state=stop] \setupfooter[text][before=\hairline,style=small,location=left,strut=yes] \setupfootertexts[some text][pagenumber] I want the first page without that footer, to be done with: \noheaderandfooterlines But then comes the problem, because afterwards the default takes over and on the subsequent pages the pagenumber starts to appear in the header (the default setting apparently). Thus the \noheaderandfooterlines annuls the \setupheader[state=stop] I did not find out how to get rid of the default pagenumber. \setuppagenumber[state=stop] kills all pagenumbering, the programmed one in the leftbottom corner too. \setuppagenumbering[state=stop] kills all pagenumbers, included the one I want to appear. \setuppagenumbering[location=none] merely puts the pagenumber in the middle of the footer, obviously location=none has no meaning in ConTeXt. So, I am at the end of the possibilities I can think of. How to? Hans van der Meer

running PlainTeX from beta

I have some plaintex code to run from the ConTeXt beta-distribution, because I didn't install the complete TeXp-distribution (and if possible prefer to keep it that way). I did not fare well with running "texexec --make plain" and "mtxrun --script plain myfile.tex" The first command does not give a sign of dumping the plain format somewhere, the second command complains "I can't find the format file luatex-plain.fmt" It looks if I am on the wrong track for using luatex with plain. Will someone please be so kind to turn me in the right direction? Hans van der Meer

\startframed spurious whitespace

There appears to be a bug with \startframed. In the following example, the instance with no optional argument sets correctly, while with the use of an optional argument (even empty []) a whitespace is introduced before the text. \starttext \startframed[] Why a space? \stopframed \startframed This is ok. \stopframed \stoptext -- Rik
