Caption whitespace overflows page

How can I get rid of the space at the top of the first line of text on page three in the following MWE. The \setupfloats[spaceafter=none] masks the problem rather than addresses the problem directly. Playing with the size of the figures (changing them to 3cm) shows that the caption text is not pushed to the second page, just some whitespace imputed to them. This happens with TL2013 and with the latest (20140325) standalone beta. Preparing a weird index.

I have a customer that uses a publisher that has truly weird requirements. The weirdness is that the locaters are not page numbers but paragraph numbers. And some paragraph numbers start with the prefix 'BO' and others with the chapter number. so a correct sequence would be BO.15 3.2 A finished sequence would be goddess @@ BO.15 3.2 3.5 The sort order has to be letter by letter, as defined in the Chicago Manual of Style. Can Context sort and summarize these locaters? I can even change the BO sequence to 0 (zero) and then change it back later on. The key is can Context sort by paragraph number rather than page number for an index. I have looked into Xindy for this job but the learning curve is pretty steep and the documentation pretty opaque. makeindex won't handle decimals for locators. Configure AUCTeX to run context not texec

Dear all, I have a working version of context mash-laptop:~$ context --version mtx-context | ConTeXt Process Management 0.60 mtx-context | mtx-context | main context file: /usr/share/texmf/tex/context/base/context.mkiv mtx-context | current version: 2013.11.07 15:28 However, I edit files in emacs/AUCTeX and the compile command "C-c C-c" calls "texexec" instead of "context" and so can't compile in emacs. Does anyone know how to change the command from "texexec" to "context" in emacs/AUCTeX? Thanks. fonts and function in math mode

internal mptopdf converter skips some glyphs in labels

The internal mptopdf converter in MkIV omit some glyphs in the labels. Quotation blocs with repetition symbol in the left column

Hello, I am trying to typeset old books and I chose to keep close to the original typography. I have attached two images of what I try to mimic an I try to sum up the requirements hereinbelow. Any advice is appreciated. ================= 1) It must work when starting from a new line as well as when starting from the middle of the current line. 2 different environments are allowed. 2) The environnement is wrapped in guillemets. 3a) There must be no extra space before the opening guillemet when starting from the middle of the current line. 3b) The must be no extra space after the closing guillemet. 4) The quote repetition symbol must appear in the beginning of every line, except the first one. 5) Paragraphs should be automatically indented. Manual indentation is bearable. 6a) When there is an indentation, the quote repetition symbol must be indented too. 6b) When the bloc starts on a new line, the opening guillemet must be indented. 7) The quote repetition symbol must be a setup parameter of the environment, or easily modifiable within the environment definition. (in the example images, it is a *closing* guillemet, but in other books it can be an *opening* guillemet). 8) This environment must work within footnotes too. ================= So far, I have tried to use line numbering to achieve this result. But there are several problems: -- extra space before beginning of bloc, -- quote repetition symbol appears on the first line even when it the beginning of the environment, -- no automatic indentation, -- no indentation of quote repetition symbol, -- lines overflow in the right margin (seems that the "width" used for the numbering is not substracted from the text width), -- no effect in footnotes, and I am not unsure whether carrying on tweaking line numbering is the way to go. text with background does not break properly around float

Standalone

On my system I already have Cygwin. I want to install the standalone Context. Which involves basically: mkdir -o /opt/context cd /opt/context wget "http://minimals.contextgarden.net/setup/first-setup.sh chmod 744 first-setup.sh ./first-setup.sh #this works up to this point only partially. - /opt/context/tex is not installed. This is a bad error. It causes - first-setup.sh to fail. And what is loaded will cause conflicts with cygwin which already exists, I believe. I can't see why rsync is use to load anothe versio of rsync in a diff location. #1. Why does 1st setup duplicate Cygwin dlls? I've hurd that having multiple cygwin*.dlls can cause problems. Besideds They already exist and so does luatex.exe for that matter. 'first-setup.sh' should know that it does a test for CYGWIN, but doesn't seem to do anything with it. #2. Also redundant and confusing is first-setup.sh forces the fetching of rsync by an already existing rsync. Is rsync already exists, why fetch another one and put it in a different location. I have texlive for unix on a cygwin platform, on top of an XP system. I want to make installing the standalone easy for cyginw and linux. # # Firstly, exactly what packages are needed for context? # I assume it's one or more of the mtx prefixed programs below. Please advise. - mtx-update.lua - mtxrun.exe - mtxrun.dll - mtxrun.lua - lua52.dll - luatex.dll Is this needed in addition to luatex.exe? - luatex.exe <Note: cygwin has luatex.exe same functionality?> - kpathsea620.dll <Note: TeXLive has kpath related code> I understand that there are not a lot of people experimenting with the latest ConTeXt and even less for the Cygin platform. But, I would like to make it easer and clearer for Cygwin users who do want to experiement with the latest versions. I don't know if installing for a native linux version is easier or more straightforward or not. Regards.
