Error Messages

Hi, After upgrading to version 2014.10.07, I recompiled a document that had gathered some dust and was greeted with: tex error > error on line 34 in file ...: ! Math error: parameter \Umathquad\displaystyle is not set The document compiled using a previous version, and no changes were made prior to upgrading. Having the line number and filename is a good start. The error message, however, is confounding. >From this error message I have no idea: - What triggered the error. - Why \Umathquad\displaystyle is relevant. - How to resolve the problem. >From superficial appearances, line 34 is fine (itemized list). In addition to the error message, would it be possible to provide a link to the wiki that offers more information? The information on the wiki page would include: - a unique identifier for the error number (e.g., err-tex-00001) - the error string ("Math error: parameter ... is not set") - a simple document that shows how to reproduce the problem - a document that shows one way to fix the issue - if relevant, note the ConTeXt version(s) that the simple document compiles without error - a brief description of why the error happens (i.e., explain why the error shows up in the subsequent ConTeXt versions) Thank you.

Any plans on documentation?

Hi, I think I saw in the plan of the ConTeXt meeting something about documentation. Was anything cleared there? Is there a plan to document ConTeXt? At least the basics, updating old manuals and adding the most important “features” or changes. Cheers. Manuel

framed and placefigure

why this happens: After a specification of the foregroundcolor the figures are behind a framed color. \setupframed[offset=2mm, corner=round, background=color, backgroundcolor=blue, foregroundcolor=yellow, frame=off, strut=no, align=normal, location=top, width=\textwidth] For example, is this case my \placefigure[right,nonumber,2*hang] {}{\externalfigure[ostrichhead][width=5cm]} is behind a yellow framed rectangle. Hey list, I've gone through the letter module manual below: <http://bitbucket.org/wolfs/correspondence/downloads/correspondence.pdf> On p.130 of 148, as indexed by my renderer, there is a great looking resume template that is blue and black on light grey. I've tried looking for the source of this everywhere, including in the book's, but I can't seem to find it. bug sorting index?

Dear list, I have the following sample: \starttext \index{tipografía digital} \index{tipografías} \index{idioma+de un pasaje} \index{idioma+del documento} \completeindex \stoptext No matter what language I choose (en, de, nl, es, fr), sorting order is wrong: "tipografía" comes before "tipografías" and "de" comes before "del". One of my colleague who try to run Lualatex(TeXlive 2013 in the window 7) first time had a similar problem. After removing Korean fonts like penhl.ttf, taenmr.ttf from the system font file directories, she can run Lualatex. Someone registered those files in the blacklist which LuaTeX referred to when it scans fonts, and succeed to make font db. Anyway, it is not the ConTeXt problem. Font-loading

Hi all, I know that there was earlier a thread dealing with this subject…. However I needed to typeset a title in a typeface with a medieval look. One of the choices is “Maximilian” a ttf font (free font). I put the font in texmf-fonts/data. The mtxrun --script font --list --info --all maximilian gives: mtx-fonts | mapping : maximilian mtx-fonts | fontname: maximilian mtx-fonts | fullname: maximilian mtx-fonts | filename: Maximilian.ttf mtx-fonts | family : maximilian mtx-fonts | weight : normal mtx-fonts | style : normal mtx-fonts | width : normal mtx-fonts | variant : normal mtx-fonts | subfont : mtx-fonts | fweight : conflict: book mtx-fonts | mtx-fonts | gsub features: mtx-fonts | mtx-fonts | feature script languages mtx-fonts | mtx-fonts | tlig all all mtx-fonts | trep all all I tried in a classical way: \starttypescript[serif][medieval] \definefontsynonym[serif][file:Maximilian][features=default] \stoptypescript \starttypescript[medieval] \definetypeface[Maximilian][rm][serif][medieval][default] \stoptypescript \usetypescript[medieval] \setupbodyfont[Maximilian,rm,12pt] I tried also the new approach \definefontfamily[Medieval][rm][Maximilian][features=default] \setupbodyfont[Medieval,12pt] In both cases I end up with an empty page, because the font is not fount. — What do I miss? Try “mtxrun unbatang.ttf” in the terminal to see if it locates the unbatang.ttf file. If it doesn’t locate it, then “sudo mtxrun —generate” in the terminal and try “mtxrun unbatang.ttf” once more. If you don’t get any output, you need to create the font db. Because of some Korean fonts in the system font files(Window system), it can not create font db. It is reported in the Q&A in KTUG with the solution. Interestingly the command ran without abort, and names.tma and names.tmc are successfully created. After the creation of names.tma and names.tmc, the example by NY Park works fine again. Best, Akira
