OSFONTDIR in ConTeXt Standalone

Dear list, ConTeXt Standalone in Windows uses the system font directory out of the box. In Linux, one needs to set OSFONTDIR to "/usr/share/fonts//". Since this is the default directory for fonts in Linux, wouldn’t it be possible to set it by default in ConTeXt Standalone for Linux? Many thanks for your help, Pablo -- http://www.ousia.tk

I am creating smalled sized page samples and want to visually compare them on a single sheet of paper stock. I am using \setuparrange to gather the typeset pages onto a single sheet of paper. Half of the pages are displayed upside down, which is what is supposed to happen, but I'd like to have it so that all pages are right side up to enable visual comparison of all pages in one orientation. The below minimal example shous a base example where two of the four pages come out upside down, as they shoud. %-------------------------------- start \definepapersize[tinypage] [width=91mm, height=55mm] \setuppapersize [tinypage][A4] \setuparranging[1*4] % 1 sheet 4 pages \setuppagenumbering[location=] \showframe \starttext Prologue % page 1 \page Very short story. % page 2 \page Conclusion % page 3 \page Epilogue % page 4 \stoptext %-------------------------------- end Is there any way to set it up so that all pages come out in the same up/down way? functions and paths in metapost

Hello all, Is it possible to define a path in metapost-metafun using "function"? In the metafun manual (chapter on Functions) the examples shown are all of the type "draw function ...". I wonder if it is possible to define a path with a function ("picture" after draw doesn't allow that afaik)? tia, (mkiv) -- Jean

Windows ConTeXt shows crappy font metrics and font size

Dear list, I have the following sample: \usemodule[simplefonts] \setmainfont[Gill Sans MT] \setsansfont[Arial Narrow] \starttext \input knuth\par \ss\input knuth \stoptext It works right in Linux (http://www.ousia.tk/gs-linux.pdf and http://www.ousia.tk/gs-linux.log) but it shows crappy font metrics and size in Windows (http://www.ousia.tk/gs-win.pdf and http://www.ousia.tk/gs-win.log) Both use a beta from 07/10/2013 and the Windows version was downloaded in Linux. MetaPost drawarrow dashed evenly

Calling \followtokens from with in metapost

Hello list, How can I call the \followtokens macro (or a similar solution) from within metapost? Specifically, I want to integrate text between the semi-circle arcs in a rainbow-like structure (with the text placed inbetween the arcs, that should alsó be drawn). The text should not be stretched but center on the top, flowing evenly distributed on each side. setuplayout with duplex -> shifted textarea

Hi, I have a both sided document in which I have to switch the layout inside a page. If I do that with text only content it works fine, but as soon I have "bigger" objects (like a table) the textarea get messed up (shifted horizontally). I added in this example inner and outer margin notes to make it more obvious. Is there a way so solve this "unwanted shifting" like on page 2 of the attached example? Thanks for the code, the stretching is ok (can be hand-tuned) but I find the positioning a bit odd. Using lua with the command line for "macros"

Hi. At the outset, I understand that this is a slight abuse of LuaTeX and this can be done with plain TeX. Nevertheless, I'd like to see if a solution exists for this approach. I'm trying to use Lua with ConTeXt as a macro preprocessor. To be more clear, I have files A.lua, B.lua which define some variables: A.lua: var1 = "something for a" var2 = "something else for a" B.lua: var1 = "something for b" var2 = "something else for b" And, in my ConTeXt file, I would write: … I will get \directlua{tex.print(var1) and \directlua{tex.print(var2)}. … Now, with lualatex, I use the --lua command line option to pass the initial lua file name.
