Hi, How would you create a conditional column break that is only applied if inserting the break does not result in a page break? Simplefonts

Hi all, I’m happy to announce a new version of the simplefonts code. Thew new version of the code is a complete rewrite and brings many changes. 1. The module is now part of the core and no external module is needed anymore. 2. The commands to select a font have changed to commands which fit better to context normal syntax. 3. I removed the keys to enable font expansion and protrusion, when you need them use \definefontfeature. To use a font with the simplefonts code two ways are available. The first method is to create one or more typefaces and load it with \setupbodyfont. A complete example for this is: \definefontfamily [mainface] [serif] [DejaVu Serif] \definefontfamily [mainface] [sans] [DejaVu Sans] \definefontfamily [mainface] [mono] [DejaVu Sans Mono] [feature=none] \definefontfamily [mainface] [math] [TeX Gyre Pagella Math] \setupbodyfont[mainface] \starttext \startlines \rm DejaVu Serif \ss DejaVu Sans \tt DejaVu Sans Mono \m{c^2 = a^2 + b^2} \stoplines \stoptext The second method is similar to the old commands of the simplefonts module (e.g. \setmainfont) where the font is enabled after it was set and no \setupbodyfont is necessary. Below is a example for this method but I recommend to avoid this method because it’s slow when you set font a font for each style in your document. \setupfontfamily [serif] [DejaVu Serif] \setupfontfamily [sans] [DejaVu Sans] \setupfontfamily [mono] [DejaVu Sans Mono] [feature=none] \setupfontfamily [math] [TeX Gyre Pagella Math] \starttext \startlines \rm DejaVu Serif \ss DejaVu Sans \tt DejaVu Sans Mono \m{c^2 = a^2 + b^2} \stoplines \stoptext Another feature of simplefonts is the ability to set a fallback font when you need certain glyphs from a different font (e.g. for cyrillic ) which aren’t available in the mainfont of the document. \startsplit \stopsplit errors?

How to add a new unit for \unit{} command?

Hi all, I want to add new units to the \unit{} command but I can't find how to do it. I found that one can changes existing units with the following luacode: languages.data.labels.units.whatever = {Meter = "retem"} but I found nothing to add new ones. Is there any way to high resolution, high quality pdf file with ConTeXt MKIV? For example a pdf file with a 300x300 dpi ?? Thanks

I want to get a dvi file from context MKIV. I tried: $ context --dvi my-contxt.mkiv but, this produces a pdf file. I compile pdf files like shit: context --pdf filename.mkiv What output file options are available on the command line. I checked the wiki garden but couldn't find any information about. I can't find it. I'd appreciate knowing what output fles I can produce. Thankds

structure level limitation for \fullheadnumber

Hallo, I added a level (without numbering) to the existing sections; that works fine. But I also need the ability to "limit" the \fullheadnumber function, so that I get a correct numbering. How can I "limit" \fullheadnumber to level 1-7, so that I get the needed "1.1" in the second call in the following example? footnote and framed text

Hello, I wanted to refere to a footnote in a text inside a background, but if I get a number in my text, there where no footnote. I then tried a framed text, but same result. \starttext \startbackground textwithbackground \footnote{footnote} \stopbackground other text without background \stoptext Result in: textwithbackgroud¹ other text without background ¹footnote While I only get: textwithbackgroud¹ other text without background Is it a bug, or framed text are a special case I should know a special behaviour? Thank you

Dear list, today I was asked that a document that contained text on more than one page displayed a sign or a text on the first page that shows that the text follows on the next page.
