Hello Wolfgang, thank you for your answer. It's not what I want. Let me explain : - when I join the registers to my presentation with \placeindex I obtain more than one slide ; - so, I would like to be able to split this register into two or more slides with something like this : \startslide \placeindex[a-k] \stopslide \startslide \placeindex[l-z] \stopslide Is this possible ? best regards, Pierre-François Bonnefoi. MetaPost visibly drawing at 0pt

I used to put an invisible frame around figures in MetaPost by setting a pen scaled at 0pt. That left no trace, but defined the area. However I (now) see a thin line drawn by code: pickup pencircle scaled 0pt; draw origin--(w,h); Did I always mis this or has something changed? For example a roundoff away from zero in MetaPost? By the way I am typesetting through ConTeXT with \startMPpage … \stopMPpage. Hans van der Meer

Tikz and \color

Hello all, I'm using Tikz to draw some fancy text boxes, but I've bumped into an annoying problem. If you run the example below then the body text will be rendered in red. If you remove the "REMOVE ME" text, then it will be rendered in black. I would expect the black version to be the correct version but I need to add text to my node. Am I using \color correctly? Does anyone know how I might go about debugging this? IPA symbols in MKIV

Hello, I'm having a trouble getting IPA symbols to show up with MKIV. I've read through the old threads about using IPA, and it seems there is no module like tipa for ConTeXt for easy input. I've tried also using SIL Gentium as the main font and entering the IPA symbols directly as UTF-8, but only a part of them will render (even though they all exist in the actual font in the right plane and are viewable in other programs). Almost none of the diacritics render. \definetypeface [MyFace][rm][serif][gentium][default][encoding=uc] \setupbodyfont[MyFace, 11pt] \starttext n̥ d̥ ̊ɭ˔ ʎ̥˔ \stoptext only n, d and ̊ will render in the PDF. In other apps using Gentium all the glyphs are visible. Is there a way to output IPA symbols correctly (when they are entered as UTF-8), or would it be possible to introduce a macro/module with an environment like \startipa \stopipa and commands for entering the symbols inside the environment? Entering some of the symbols correctly (such as velarized or pharyngealized diacritics which should appear on top of the letter) is hard when done directly with Unicode, so at least TeX-like shorthands for all the symbols and diacritics would really be appreciated. But when I exercise the example given I do not see those staticMPfigure's in sepaarte pdf's. What am I missing? oldstyle with simplefonts

Hi there, I define TeX Gyre Pagella in my document as the main font with this simple commands: \usemodule[simplefonts][size=12pt] \setmainfont[TeX Gyre Pagella] How am I supposed to instruct it to use old-style numbers by default? Captions command (special alignment)

Hello, why that simple thing doesn't work? Does anybody know? \def\mycap#1#2{\hbox{\hbox{#1}\vtop{#2\par}}} \setupcaptions[command=\mycap] Simply I need this: Fig. 1 The fig is great... ...like any other fig. I have tried to set this up via table but still can't proceed. Thanks, Honza Hejzl

[float] location options of \placefloat

Hi all, some of the possibilities concerning float placement that are listed on the wiki[1] cause mkiv to fail with an “undefined control sequence”. E.g. ----------------------------------------------------------------- \starttext \placefigure[left][]{A Dutch Cow}{\externalfigure[cow]} \stoptext ----------------------------------------------------------------- The same goes for “right”, “innermargin” “outeredge”. Others like “top” and “here” seem to work. Mkii is not affected, though. Bug? floats confuse footnote's numbering

Hi, this is a real good minimal exmaple showing the problem I found: \starttext \dorecurse{2}{\input tufte}\footnote{note 1} \placefigure{text\footnote{note 2}}{{\externalfigure[s119][frame=on,width=\dimexpr(\textwidth-00pt)]}\vskip5pt} \input tufte\footnote{note 3} \stoptext The correct way would be if the float's footnote number would be 3 and the corresponding text be placed on second page too!!! Hi, please have a look at this: \starttext \placetable{Text}{ \bTABLE \bTR\bTD Test\footnote{note} \eTD\eTR \eTABLE (remark) } \stoptext Obviously a remark like this (below table) is not allowed ... as it kills the footnote's table! How can the note be saved? Steffen
