some questions related to sorting in registers

Hello, There has been some discussion about this lately, but I have some questions about the sort order in registers. Consider this example: \starttext \index{42 numbers} \index{'apostrophe} \index{‘apostrophe} \index{’apostrophe} \index{"quote} \index{“quote} \index{”quote} \index{Oo} \index{ob} \index{oz} \index{Öa} Test \subject{Method zm} \placeindex[method=zm] \subject{Method zc} \placeindex[method=zc] \stoptext First of all, common to both methods, I'd like the unicode apostrophes and quotes to be ignored just like their "straight" counterpart. Is there a method to do so, apart from specifying the key manually? Using the zm method, entries beginning with a number appear at the very bottom of the index, which is quite a strange place especially as there is no separation with the previous letter. Using the zc method, the numbers are at the right place, but now entries beginning with an accented character appear wrongly in a separate group after the unaccented letters. Is there a way to get the best of both methods? Thanks, Vianney

Tabluating with fixed-width column

Good afternoon! After updating the minimals again, thanks for fixing the previously mentioned problems, I see, that the tabulating environment does no more honor fixed width columns, For left aligned the fixed width is ignored, whereas the fixed width for a paragraph results in a maximum width paragraph. Please refer to the attached test-file. Thanks for fixing this. Willi

mkiv/luatex bug

Hi, I'm currently trying out context and somehow I can't get it to behave the way it should/I want it. I think I may be hitting a bug in either my setup or context mkiv. Somehow when using luatex/mkiv the spacing and placing of figures and such looks very different (and wrong) compared to pdftex/mkii (invoked using context --luatex/--pdftex). I think the bug is either in context or my context setup, because lualatex compared with pdflatex is fine, so it doesn't seem engine related. I already ran various combinations of (texexec|luatools|context) ((--generate|--make)||--all) but that didn't help. I'm experiencing this with TeXLive + TLContrib as well as context-minimals (only installed for testing) attached are: - Hello World.tex (from http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Hello_world ) - logs context.(lua|pdf).log - the resulting pdfs Hello World.(lua|pdf).pdf Would be nice if someone could help me with this, since I'm eager to play with luatex and context a bit more. Composed words: a simple way without a global replacement to |-|?

Dear list, today I was reviewing the hyphenation and stumbled on the composed word problem, as explained at http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Composed_words and in the ref-manual. Now, the trivial question sounds: is there a way to say to TeX "hey, consider the hyphen inside words a good breakpoint"? If not, I'm going to do a global replacement of ([a-z])-([a-z]) to $1|-|$2 , but somehow I feel I'm doing this wrong (because this will harm to the readability of the source). Any idea? Bibliogrraphy MKIV sort does NOT work

Hans, Could we (you and I) fix sort= so that we can make choices? Default sort=author does NOT function. As a matter of fact there seems to be no sort available. Also, can someone point me to the files required so that we (I) could write code to chose biblio style files for reference list eg econometric, elsevier, AEA, etc.

\underbrace broken in latest beta

Hi, I upgraded to latest beta and something that used to work before doesn't anymore. Can't use buffers inside a block

Hi all, When I use a buffer inside a block, this error message appears: Runaway argument? \st\ETC.t.\stopbuffer \getbuffer \dostopnormalblock \egroup \par ! File ended while scanning use of \dododowithbuffer. When I define the buffer outside the block, it works.
