hangaround in right side of column?

Hi all, I try to get text flowing nicely around a figure but since I'm working in a columns environment \placefloat related stuff doesn't work. Using \starthangaround I get precisely what I want but I need to place figures to the right instead of to the left. Ahoi, Following a previous discussion, I've been advised to "try to avoid \switchtobodyfont and use \definedfont or \definefont instead". (1) What's the difference between \definefont and \definedfont ? (2) In the underneath example... (2a) how to implement \define(d)font for font switching ? (2b) how to define \myFontHook ? new luatex beta

Hi, The code has been checked in for the next luatex beta. The current MKIV beta is already prepared for that (primitive initializations and changed directlua support). Also, there are a few bug fixes (esp the vf positioning) that might result in better output. There are some pending issues with math but they might as well relate to issues with the lm fonts. Anyway, we tested the beta a few days and it should work ok. One new feature in MKIV is names lua runs. In the current version we no longer have multiple lua instances (we decided that it made no sense as no data can be shared). However, in MKIV we do have a few mildly isolated instances that are defined as follows: \definenamedlua[user] [private user instance] \definenamedlua[third] [third party module instance] \definenamedlua[module] [module instance] \definenamedlua[isolated][isolated instance] the names kind of reflect what their intended usage is. By default one has no access to global data unless prefixed by global, so for instance one can access the global character data as in (untested): \startusercode tex.sprint(global.characters.data[123].description) \startusercode (there is also \usercode{...}) This prevents that users mess up with the data unintended. However, there is still read and write access so be careful. I see no advantage in a more strict model than this. Since each call to lua is reentrant, errors in your scripts will normally not result in a crash of \MKIV. The error message mentiones the second argument to the previous definitions. Setting framed

Hi all, in my text each section ends with an one-line box so I used \framed (thinking that's the right way). How to put each box at the same distance from last previous line even it comes after a list, a table, a regular text...? There is an the option to set the \framed's font globally? I work with MikTeX and TeXnicCenter. You mean that instead of a standalone program I can incorporate the MetaPost figure(s) directly into LaTeX and view the results from there? It is possible to create pdf, png, jpeg files from the same MetaPost code? I need these graphics for other applications (like Openoffice, etc.,). Thanks again, constantine

latest beta (MKII/Greek module)

I am finding that the latest beta fails when asked to set ancient Greek using Thomas’ module and the MKII engine. The error message reads: ! Hi, the xp interface did currently work build because the 'norm-xx' are not loaded. The following examples fail for me: 1. Itemize with 'fit' option \starttext \startitemize[fit] \item item \stopitemize \stoptext 2.
