By the way, why we have two copies of core execuatbles -- one at texmf-mswin\bin and other at texmf-context\scripts\context\stubs\mswin ? The former are called first, so updating the latter had no effect at all. Regards, Vyatcheslav

How to not gobble space after a command

Hi all, I'm working with a few custom macros to simplify typing a bit, like: \def\VHDL{\small{VHDL}} However, when I use this macro in text, like \VHDL this, it gobbles the space after it. I've seen some references that say to solve this by writing \VHDL{} instead, but that is of course very unpretty. I've tried to put all kinds of stuff ({}, \mbox{}, \obeyedspace, etc.) inside the \VHDL macro, but it seems the space is already gone there, so that didn't work. (Note that just putting a space inside the macro won't work, for cases where I use \VHDL, like this) It seems that latex has an xspace package that does some guesswork about whether a space is required, but it looks mightily scary. Does ConTeXt provide for any way to solve this problem in a nice way? Or is this just so fundamental in TeX that there is no real solution? Gr. Matthijs

hi, i´m writing proofs containing a lot of math expressions mixed with normal text. i would like the math expression to be in displaymath-style (more spacing, limits etc.) without interrupting normal text flow. is there an easy way to do this? tobias

Strange behaviour of indentation

Dear all, I have some strange problem with indentation. I'm trying to typeset text with some verses. I use indentation in the text, however I would like to suppress it below the verse. So, inside the macro for verses, I use: indenting[next] This works fine, however for some strange reason, the indentation of the text paragraph isn't suppressed at some cases. The macro I use for the verses is a bit more compliated, but I managed to reduce the problem to the simple example below. The first 7 pairs of quote and line are fine, then the text line is indented although it shouldn't be. (Please see the attached PDF.) Please, does anyone know what to do with this problem? setupbibtex produces empty bbl file

Hello all, when i try to compile a document with citations i get an empty .bbl file. log is attached. Interestingly it says (Handout.topThis is BibTeX, Version 0.99c (TeX Live 2009), but paths must be set correct because LuaTeX in my minimals folder is working and there is the file: /Applications/ConTeXt/tex/texmf-osx-64/bin/bibtex. Do i make something wrong best regards Bernhard

Math Alignment - start equation at left margin (Bug in latest beta)

Just wanted to mention that I tried to achieve left alignment of single equation using: \setupformulas[align=flushleft] \startformula \text{\bf Example: } \frac{d(4x^{2})}{dx} = 4 \frac{dx^{2}}{dx} = 4 (2x) = 8x.\NC\NR \stopformula But that does not work with the latest beta -- (This is LuaTeX, Version beta-0.46.0-2009112820 ConTeXt ver: 2009.11.27 21:24 MKIV fmt: 2009.11.29 int: english/english). It, however, works with MKII. I suppose, my question is, whether is another way of doing it, or should I wait until the bug is fixed. Thanks. Hi Hans, has the defintion for \inputfilename changed, when i used it in the past i got the filename without extension but now i get the filename plus extension. \starttext \inputfilename \stoptext Wolfgang
