javascript tool for presentations

Dear all, this website http://www.icsr.agh.edu.pl/~polak/latex.html.var was mentioned in comp.text.tex. It allows dual-screen presentations in LaTeX: if your computer allows extended desktop mode, you can view your notes on your laptop screen and show your slides via the projector. Sounds like a useful tool - would something similar be possible for ConTeXt as well? All best Thomas

Preprocessing ConTeXt file to convert from UTF-8 to ASCII & ABNT

Hi. I've used LaTeX for a while and found articles about ConTeXt yesterday and decided give it a try since its different approach. Reading the docs I've found it only works with ASCII. So I've tried to do the convertion UTF-8 => ASCII using iconv, without success: it failed to convert the first 'accented character' it encounters. I'm searching to solve this problem, but would like to know if there's any doc on 'non-ascii' editing of ConTeXt files. If there are other people writing in portuguese, like me, and specially brazilians, is there a way to implement ABNT standard ? Any docs on theses subjects: 'non-ascii' input, 'portuguese/brazilian' and 'ABNT', would be appreciated :) I use 'vim' and 'textmate' as my primary editors for *TeX*, and my platform is MacOSX (Leopard). Customizing chapter heads

I am new to ConTeXt. I am trying to define a customized head for chapters but I am finding some problems. The sentences below are based on the chapter Text Elements which may be found in the ConTeXt manual. Prior to setting up the title, a new Head command is defined by \def\HeadTitle#1#2%. It takes two arguments, the chapter number and the chapter title. The Head so defined will show the word "C h a p t e r" in capitals, then the chapter number at 80pt, then a horizontal line, and finally the title. Something usefull?

I made something usefull and share it with you. Maybe it is usefull for other people also. Sometimes I switch a lot from tasks. Still I need to keep a good log of time spend on the different tasks. For this I made the first table. When I switch I can now log easily the new task and the time of the switch. And at the end of the day I can easily get a running total pro task. The second task is for writing down short notes. I used a table to get lined A7 paper. I have still some work to do on it. For example the tables are to close to edge and the tables stop to soon. But I think it is good enough to 'publish'. I also have some questions. ;-} At the moment there are the same number of the timesheet and the lined paper printed. That is not always what you want I think. The one time you need more timesheets, the other time you need more lined paper. Is there a way to ask for the number of timesheets, print those, and let the rest be printed as lined? (I can offcourse also switch to two different documents.) At the moment the lined paper starts counting from 9. Is there a way to reset it to 1? -- Cecil Westerhof

Beste contexers, In math-mode krijg je een streep door een letter met behulp van* \no*t. De streep gaat echter altijd maar door één letter. Ik wil bijvoorbeeld het getal 10 doorstrepen of het getal 100. Hoe kan ik dit het beste doen? Latest Notepad++ package for ConTeXt

Dear gang, I have uploaded the latest version of the ConTeXt support package for Notepad++. http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Image:Npp_ConTeXt-Uni.zip It has been updated to 5.1.4, the latest stable version. There are now two versions of Notepad++: ANSI and Unicode. The ANSI version is mostly a legacy version, which supports Win95/98/ME. Unicode Npp supports Unicode path names etc., and is the main release. Most to all important plugins have been ported to Unicode Npp; this and future versions of this package for ConTeXt will only support Unicode Npp from now on. Old plugins will not work with Unicode Npp, so be sure to remove them before installing the latest Npp. See https://sourceforge.net/forum/message.php?msg_id=5503888 for more details. NppExec console plugin is essential for this package. It is installed by default by the Npp installer. This support package includes a redundant NppExec plugin -- in case you forgot to install it ;-) -- as well as the Explorer plugin and the XBrackets plugin -- not included in the main distro. XBrackets provides bracket autocompletion and is configurable. Directory structure has changed a bit: Npp now stores some config settings in Application Data\Notepad++\plugins\config that used to be stored in eg Program Files\Notepad++\plugins\Config the startstop module has been moved to texmf-project. Most of its features are or soon will be made obsolete in mkiv. The run commands are now all linked to scripts. Shortcuts are in the Macros menu, and you by F6 you can open the scripts console and editor. This way it's easier to edit the commands as well as to keep up with changes in the way ConTeXt does things etc. All reference to aleph is gone, luatex is its successor. "Update ConTeXt" is almost certainly obsolete; I never use it anyway. Feel free to send me an updated script for inclusion. I have never used XeTeX, the XeTeX related scripts may need adjustment.
