I was working on a document in which I wanted use a symbol that, acording to the Comprehensive LaTeX Symbol List, goes by the name of \Asterisk or \bigast (see p. 22). I saw, though, that this seems to be missing in ConTeXt. Might it be tucked away in some module, or is it just absent? If it's really not there, what would it take to add it? Context on Miktex

All, On http://blog.miktex.org/post/2008/05/ConTeXt-support.aspx I read that Miktex version of Context is broken. I also read Mojca's workaround, pasted below. Has anyone tried this and does it work? Any conflicts or difficulties? Second question: Can I get mptopdf to work in the Miktex tree without installing Context? Mojca's workaround: May 31. 2008 00:37 If you still want to run ConTeXt on MikTeX while it has been removed, you may create a file texmfstart.bat in C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.7 \miktex\bin with the content: @echo off ruby "C:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.7\scripts\context\ruby\texmfstart.rb" "%*" and extract www.pragma-ade.com/context/current/cont-tmf.zip into C: \Program Files\MiKTeX 2.7. Then, update filename database and generate formats, and everything should work again. Reading modules from zip files

Hi, I tried to load a module from the zip archive without placing it in my tex folder, this work fine but I'm unable to include files from my global tex tree because none of them is found by luatex. The following works \usezipfile[t-letter.zip] \usemodule[letter] \starttext \startletter letter text \stopletter \stoptext but this fails \usezipfile[t-letter.zip] \usemodule[letter] \starttext \startletter[opening=hi,closing=bye] \input knuth \stopletter \stoptext The file knuth.tex and all the map files are not found. Reference Manual Project

Hi all, Following the discussion with Gerben over the past week, I have initialized a project for the creation of a new Context Reference Manual. The goal is to create a complete manual documenting all of context's user-level commands with the focus on creating a reference manual, but not so much on providing a learner's manual. Anybody who is willing and able to help out in any way is very much invited to join in. The manual is to be distributed under the GNU Free Document License so that it can borrow text from the wiki, and also so that it can be included in free TeX distributions (like TeX Live). I have merged and checked in tex sources of a few base manuals just to get started. The sources are part of the contextman project at supelec: http://foundry.supelec.fr/projects/contextman . There are no released files yet (that would be premature), but you can browse the repository via the SCM tab at supelec's project page. Alternatively, if you have a subversion client, check out the source tree to a local folder. There is also a mailing list, see http://lists.foundry.supelec.fr/mailman/listinfo/contextman-reference for details The current source tree in the repository is basically the english version of the 'Context Manual' plus * Fonts (mfonts.tex) * Columns sets (columns.tex) * Processing modes (mmodes.tex) * Texmfstart (mtexmfstart.tex) * Hyphenation patterns (mpattern.tex) but minus the images and using a simplified layout design. The project needs volunteers for just about everything: * merging existing manuals and wiki pages * copy-editing * writers for new chapters * proofreaders * it could also do with a nicer design so if you want to help out in any way, please subscribe to the mailing list via the link above (I don't want to overburden ntg-context with messages on this subject). Hi, is it possible now (with luatex or mkiv) to typeset a document in bp? I've tried \setupbodyfont[9bp] but the resulting pdf uses 8,97bp which means 9pt (TeX points)? Ulrich

\word of synonyms

Hi list! What am I doing wrong? \Word, \Words and \WORDS cannot be applied to synonyms, they are displayed unmodified which is a pity as these words should be capitalized at the beginning of a sentence. mkii and xetex with tl2008: invalid fontname errors

The product 'prd-test' includes the component 'cmp-test'. The problem only occurs when ConTeX tries to build the product, not the component. font eatures with fallback fonts
