Hello Hans, I have modified the gnuplot module a bit, and stumbled upon: 1.) the need for \ifx\savebuffer\undefined \else \savebuffer[...]\fi which has been expected 2.) undefined command \forceMPTEXcheck{put_text} I have now used a wrapper to skip that line in LuaTeX (btw: what's the suggested \if clause or \beginNOLUATEX to check for luatex/mkiv?) Does it make sense to define \let\forceMPTEXcheck\empty in mkiv perhaps? 3.) undefined command \obeyMPlines. I actually forgot why I needed it, but according to the comment: \obeyMPlines % <- no longer a problem \def\obeyedline{}% <- thanks to this I simply commented out the first line and hoped for no problems in mkii 4.) It seems to work without problems now, except for one tiny detail that I get in the final PDF. [do we need TeXtexts in MkIV] What is that supposed to mean? I need to admit that I have the following piece of code in the module (in case that matters). Maybe I'm the only one who uses it, so if you have any idea how to modify the macros to make \sometxt[gp][iwona,14pt]{text} work in mkiv, I will happily drop the old code/replace it for mkiv. updating minimals

two easy xml-questions

Hi gang, speaking of xml... I have two easy questions, but can't find an answer. It's about tweaking the pdf-output I get: 1. How do you add an additional hyphenation to a word? How would I enter the equivalent of super\-duper in an xml-file? I tried super&addhyphen;duper with this definition: \defineXMLentity[addhyphen]{\-} in my environment, but this doesn't seem to work. 2. Similar question: how to prevent an unwanted ligature, esp. in German? In TeX, I write Kauf{}laden. What would be a good way to do this in xml? I was thinking of Kauf&nolig;laden and \defineXMLentity[nolig]{\kern0pt} Any thoughts? Thanks! Thomas

hyphenating bug

Hi Taco and Hans I was typesetting the manual of a software developed by me using ConTeXt while the problem occurred. I try to minimized the problem and the result is attached. luatex.pdf --- pdf produced by luatex 0.25.2 It seems luatex forgets to hyphenating capital words. t-bib: URL and '%'; spacing between number and text

Hi all, I have a .bib file which contains @article{foo, url = {http://..../a%bb%cc.html} i.e. an URL with % sign. I want to typeset it in the references using: \def\gotoURL#1{\useURL[foo][#1]\goto{\url[foo]}[url(foo)]} \unprotect \setuppublicationlayout[article]{% ... \insertbiburl{ }{.}{}% The problem is: If I do not escape the % signs, I get a TeX error. If I escape them with \%, both the link and the printed text show the backslash. What is the proper way of doing it? Another problem is that I have in the reference list, the space between "]" and the author name in [123]Author is too small (they overlap). Is there an easy possibility to make the spacing automatically right or does one need to tweek it manually? Tobias

Footnotes set outside of columns when using columnsets

Hi, When using columnsets is it possible to have footnotes placed at the bottom of the page rather than in columns? I searched the documentation and haven't found a way to do this. Minimal examples. Using columnsets: \definecolumnset[twocolumn][n=2] \starttext \startcolumnset[twocolumn] \dorecurse{4}{\input knuth \footnote[footnote]{footnote}\par} \stopcolumnset \stoptext It produces footnotes in columns which isn't what I want. The behaviour I want is the that produced by this example using \startcolumns: \starttext \startcolumns \dorecurse{4}{\input knuth \footnote[footnote]{footnote}\par} \stopcolumns \stoptext I'd like to be able to take advantage of the addition feature offered by using columnsets but need the footnotes to be set at the bottomof the page outside of the columns. Advice on how to do this would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance, Elliot

Hallo, I have a few silly questions about tex.print() To produce $\sqrt{2}=1.4142135623731$ it should be enough to write tex.print("$\\sqrt{2}=" .. math.sqrt(2) .. "$") or better tex.print([[$\sqrt{2}=]] .. math.sqrt(2) .. "$") but that's both not working. The following instead does the job: tex.print("$\string\\sqrt{2}=" .. math.sqrt(2) .. "$") why? Another question: What is the differenz between 'tex.sprint()' and 'tex.write()'? Wolfgang
