Blackboard bold \Bbb and MKIV

Hi all, In my first steps in experimenting MKIV, I typeset the following minimal example \starttext Let ${\bf c} \in {\Bbb R}$. \stoptext with luatex, but the Blackboard Bold {\Bbb R} doesn't appear. The same file is fine with MKII. LuaTeX gives hundreds of warnings such as: luaTeX warning (file /usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.local/fonts/map/dvipdfm/ context/original-ams-base.map): invalid entry for `msbm10': both ps_name and font file missing (for various fonts), but I don't know what are exactly the differences between the ways of handling fonts in MKII and MKIV. For your information the above are obtained under: ConTeXt ver: 2008.02.11 10:35 MKIV fmt: 2008.2.12 int: english/ english Thanks for your attention: OK

Nonletter bug in ConTeXt ver: 2008.02.11 10:35 MKII

Hi all, I just tried to update my ConTeXt installation with the command: sudo ctxtools --updatecontext and after several lines of output I got: […] language : patterns agr for agr loaded (n=16,e=ec,m=ec) (/usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.local/tex/context/patterns/lang-agr.pat ! Nonletter. l.65 α2᾿ ὺ However saying r and hitting return resulted in the installation continuing ("entering nonstop mode…"). It seems that the problem comes from greek letters. Despite this it seems my context installation works fine… that is: ConTeXt ver: 2008.02.11 10:35 MKII fmt: 2008.2.12 int: english/ english So here is the question: is this just a minor bug in the most recent ConTeXt? Adding whitespace equivalent to a -ve sign

Hi all, I am trying to line up some equations on a page and I'd like to insert some whitespace that has the same width as a -ve sign in an equation. An example would be trying to ensure the cosine and sine and on the first and second rows (second column) in the matrix below: \startpmatrix % Row 1 \NC - \cos \theta_{\text{el}} \, \sin \theta_{\text{az}} \NC \cos \theta_{\text{az}} \NC \sin \theta_{\text{el}} \, \sin \theta_{\text{el}} \NR % Row 2 \NC - \cos \theta_{\text{el}} \, \cos \theta_{\text{az}} \NC - \sin \theta_{\text{az}} \NC \sin \theta_{\text{el}} \, \cos \theta_{\text{el}} \NR % Row 3 \NC - \sin \theta_{\text{el}} \NC 0 \NC \cos \theta_{\text{el}} \NR \stoppmatrix Any ideas? Bookmark question

Hi, When I use \bookmark[chapter]{Some bookmark} the bookmark appears twice in the list of bookmarks but the bookmark also appears twice in the Table of Contents. Is this a known problem/bug or is there something I should do ? I am using ConTeXt ver: 2008.02.01 17:25 MKII fmt: 2008.2.4 int: english/english Kind regards Wim

index register justification

Hi, just by chance I found this minimal example and (while showgrid) had a closer look at it: \defineregister[Index][Indeces] \showframe\showgrid \starttext \dorecurse{100}{ boo\Index{boo} Boo\Index{Boo} foo\Index{foo} Foo\Index{Foo} goo\Index{goo} Goo\Index{Goo} \page } \placeregister[Index][align=yes] \stoptext Why are the lines not fully justified? This looks not good, esp. when the entire book is set in justified block! Is this a default that can be changed? Steffen

\high{} in mkiv

Hi all (Hans!), I have a problem with the \high{} command in mkiv: in most of my typescripts, I have the onum feature set for my base fonts. When I have a number with two digits within the \high command, I get the expected oldstyle numbers; with one-digit numbers, the number is regular (not oldstyle). Since I know that this sounds completely ludicrous, I attach a small pdf example. It's set in Adobe Garamond, and the source is: A\high{1} A\high{2} A\high{12} Why is the onum feature lost for single-digit numbers? I'm completely lost here, can anyone help? Hi, does it make sense that eg \clubpenalty=10000 doesn't work when written in a project's environment file? It must be repeated at top of each single component in order to work. I am wondering what else works only when written in component (and is silently ignored although written in my environment-file) ... Steffen

beta: image inclusion from xml database broken in mkiv

Hi Hans, can you have a look at the image inclusion from xml databases in mkiv? Compilation breaks, saying that it couldn't find the corrosponding <libname>.xml file. No problems with mkii. If you can't reproduce this with one of your figure databases, I can make a minimal example. Best wishes, Peter

Chapter number conversion to words

I would like to display chapter headings spelling out the numbers into words. For example: Chapter One Chapter Two Chapter Three etc. I thought that I could put a conversion in the setuphead function; however, it doesn't appear to be supported. So how to I do the conversion? Thanks, Bart

\noindent in startstop block is not working on the text that follows the block

I defined a startstop block. However, the text that follows the block I don't want to be indented. <Code> \definestartstop[Center][ before={\startalignment[center]}, after={\stopalignment\noindent} ] \starttext \startCenter This is some text! \stopCenter I don't want this paragraph indent; however, it ends up being indented. \stopText <\Code> However, the text that follows the block is indented. How to I declare a \noindent within the startstop block definition that will work when the block is exited? Thanks, Bart
