Hallo, some times ago, I tried to use the module 'verb-c' but something like the following didn't work: \usemodule[verb-c] \setupcolors[state=start] \starttext \startC "*\0" \stopC \stoptext Wolfgang Schuster told me, not to use 'verb-c' and to use for example: \setupcolors[state=start] \definetyping[C][option=C] \starttext \startC "*\0" \stopC \stoptext The problematic C-code is typeset ok here, but the colorscheme used, doesn't fit to C-code rather to TeX-Code. How can this be changed? Wolfgang

t-inifile, my first experience with lua

Hello, Hey, it's really fun to code in lua: pattern matching, easy table manipulation and so on, I should have learned it earlier! Since it's my first experience with lua, I would like to ask you for comments on the t-inifile.tex module, attached to this message. I tried to implement a demo-mode, but there are two small problems: - I don't know how to use \savebuffer, all line-endings disappear in the saved file - the utf-thinspace is ignored Cheers and thanks a lot to the luatex and MKIV developers! References title in Norwegian

Hi, I'm writing a publication in Norwegian containing citations and references. I use \completepublications[criterium=all] at the end of the tex file to get the references. The only problem is that the title of it when typeset show up as "References" in English. Is it possible somehow to substitute that for the Norwgeian equivalent "Litteratur"? I'm using the MacTex distro from http://www.tug.org/mactex/ Thanks a lot, Trond

\start\stoplines and image

Hallo, I have a little problem with the following code: ----------------------------------------------- \setuppapersize[S6][S6] \setuplayout[bottomspace=.8cm,bottom=12pt,backspace=1.2cm,width=middle ] \starttext \placefigure[left,height]{none}{% \externalfigure[img.jpg][height=0.99\textheight]} \startlines Sie sprach: \quotation{Das ist ein Test.} \stoplines \stoptext ----------------------------------------------- The text between \start\stoplines is not completly placed in the right of the image. The quoted parts are moved to the left, on top of the image. What is wrong here? Gruß, Wolfgang

Hello, I have to convert an "ini"-file to pdf. On the one hand, it's easy for me to do most things in C, on the other hand, I would like to enlarge my experience with lua and ConTeXt. So here my question to the experts: what languages would you use for the different tasks? In fact, I believe lua could do a good job for some tasks, but I'm not really sure. Here the details: Example "ini"-file with 2 entries (the real file has about 200 entries): [temp_room] comment = the room temperature in °C description = This value must be sent at least once per 15 minutes, \ but only if a local sensor is connected to the device. size = 16 channel = master fb = RTS dpt = 2.009 dir = o [power] comment = the actual power available in % description = This value is only used to calculate the energy \ consumption. size = 8 channel = slave fb = HVA dpt = 4.307 dir = i The tasks: - put theses entries into a structured table (easy to do in C and the iniparser library http://ndevilla.free.fr/iniparser/ but it could be nice to do it in lua) - sorting (several PDF-documents with different sorting: by name, size, channel or other values) - filtering, for example _ must be converted to \_ and % to \% (same question: C, lua or ConTeXt) - formatting with nice layout (certainly with ConTeXt) For example, the first entry could become: 1.) temp_room, the room temperature in °C ----------------------------------------- ______________________________________________________________________ | Master | RTS | Output with datapoint type 2.009 (16 bits) | |___________|_________|______________________________________________| This value must be sent at least once per 15 minutes, but only if a local sensor is connected to the device. Heros (font)

Hallo to you all. I'd like to use TeXGyre fonts termes and heros. I tried something like this: \usetypescriptfile[type-gyr] \definetypeface[termes][rm][serif][termes][default][encoding=ec] \definetypeface[termes][ss][sans][heros][default][encoding=ec] \definetypeface[termes][mm][math][times][default][] \setupbodyfont[termes,18pt] However, I found that fonts as TeXGyreHeros-Regular are not defined. So I added this: \loadmapfile[qhv-ec.map] \definefontsynonym [TeXGyreHeros-Regular][ec-qhvr][encoding=ec] \definefontsynonym [TeXGyreHeros-Italic][ec-qhvri][encoding=ec] \definefontsynonym [TeXGyreHeros-Bold] [ec-qhvb][encoding=ec] \definefontsynonym [TeXGyreHeros-BoldItalic] [ec-qhvbi][encoding=ec] Now it works---I get not run-time error, and I can see some Helvetica-like fonts (though I'm not sure that the Czech accents are all right). However, the AdobeReader says I use some Quasi-Swiss fonts, not TeXGyreHeros as I would expect. What's wrong? I've got ConTeXt ver: 2008.01.28 21:28 MKII. I installed manually TeXGyre fonts from the TeXGyre page some days ago. Many thanks for your kind help. And greeting to all of you. Michal

Hi, in LaTeX I've been able to do cites in a number of different ways, depending on what's needed. In ConTeXt I've figured out how to do \cite[key] Full author list and year (Watson and Crick 1953) as well as how to add reference to the page number using \cite[extras={, page 5}[key]. But I'm wondering if it is possible to get something similar to \citeN{key}, \citeNP{key}, etc. in LaTeX: \cite{key} Full author list and year (Watson and Crick 1953) \citeA{key} Full author list (Watson and Crick) \citeN{key} Full author list and year. Watson and Crick (1953) \citeyear{key} Cite year only (1953) All the above have an NP variant without parentheses; Ex. \citeNP. Thanks, Trond

[OT] suggestion for books on (typo)graphic design

Hi to all and sorry for the OT, but here on the list there are some of the most competent people I know on the topic. I will start a course on graphic communication. The students are ground-zero programmers, all on mac, so I would like to use Nodebox (http://nodebox.net/). (Unluckily no time/space to introduce ConTeXt). I will focus on data visualization, so I was considering to adopt Tufte's classic The Visual Display etc. I've still not read Envisioning Information and Visual Explanations. Any ideas? I will have also to introduce basic elements of graphic communication (e.g. fonts, page composition, color usage etc). Suggestions? Many thanks!
