Gnuplot should now work on MKIV

Hello, since Aditya was asking yesterday: I finally patched the gnuplot module to work with mkiv. There are still some parts for which I'm almost sure that they don't work (I didn't test, but at least an average gnuplot run should not need those features): 1.) colored labels ... Because withcolor doesn't work; but now that I intercept textext, maybe I can do some dirty tricks there. 2.) drawing points with TeX \setupGNUPLOTterminal[context][points=tex] \defineconversion[gnuplot:pointset][x,+,$\circ$] ... Because I first need to rewrite some code that used some dirty tricks with \startTeXtexts. 3.) changing font with gnuplot commands set title "Nice Title" font "iwona,20" ... Because Aditya wrote a patch that enables two arguments in \sometxt and that patch doesn't work in mkiv any more. Mojca PS: despite switching to mkiv, "reports still don't get written by themselves" :) :) :)

Hi, this code \setupformulas[location=left] \placeformula \startformula K = V + W(V) × S (Gleichung 1) \stopformula gives, as expected: (1.1) K = V + W(V ) × S But I need the following label ("Gleichung" means "formula"): (Gleichung 1) K = V + W(V ) × S How can this be done (in Mk II) ? File fails to compile

Dear all, I made a poster about two months ago. Today I cloned it to make a different one. I am using MacTex 2008 distribution and XeConTeXt . I am using fonts such as Hoefler, Gentium, Junicode etc. The original file and the new one stick at the console readout below. I uninstalled 2008 distribution completely and reinstalled but I get the same result. The files give me pdf output if I use just ConTeXt but of course I do not get the fonts. I would be most grateful if anyone could offer advice. Optical scaling

Dear All, among advertised advantages of TeX there used to be "optical scaling", when text in the same font but in different sizes has different shapes of glyphs. That used to be the feature of metafont fonts and derived PostScript ones (like cm-super). But it seems now, with TeX Gyre becoming the default free fonts set, it seems the idea is dropped. Is it really so or one just needs some commercial OpenType font family to use it (Adobe Opticals)? Sincerely, Michail

definepagebreak: problem at the end of front, body & backmatter

In the sample code below, I defined the document to be doublesided and that chapters should open on the right. If the chapter ends on an odd page, I want to leave the even page completely blank (no headers, footers, page numbers, etc.). The code below works except for the last chapter in the frontmatter, bodymatter, and backmatter. For the last chapter in those divisions, the page is not blank, but has the header & footers. metapost code fails to work in mkiv

Hello, A while back I wrote this dirty code (read as: hack) in attachment that allows multiple optional parameters in metapost functions, for example: draw_text("text"); draw_text(angle(30),"text"); draw_text(angle(30),align(right),"text"); draw_text(align(center),"text"); The code compiles fine with mkii, but not with mkiv. I would be grateful for any hints about how to fix this. I get the error: mplib | mp terminal: ! muse, pandoc and context

Dear list members, Despite using a text editor (emacs) and context almost exclusively, I need a way to communicate with other members of the institute. I'm evaluating two possibilities: 1. Writing in markdown and using pandoc for conversion to either context or something openable by a word processor. 2. Writing in emacs muse and publishing to -- see above. I would like to know the following: - Has anybody done the same and come to a conclusion? Reasons? - Is my impression correct that with muse one has fewer possibilities such as sub/superscripts? I'm aware of the threads in the archive, but would like to have an updated, concise opinion. Slightly off topic, but thanks for your answers, Jörg
