Hello, for some reason I have always been using standardmakeup for separating chapters in slides (I don't know if that's a good idea or not), but this fails: \setupcolors [state=start] \setuphead [chapter] [page=yes, number=no, command=\mychaptercommand] \setuphead [section] [page=yes, number=no] \def\mychaptercommand#1#2{% \bgroup \startstandardmakeup \setupbackgrounds[page][background=color,backgroundcolor=blue] % doesn't work \switchtobodyfont[30pt]{#2} \stopstandardmakeup \egroup} \starttext \chapter{Chapter} \section{Section} % starts on the first page \input tufte \stoptext I have now used \def\mychapter#1#2{% % the only way to make background color work \page\bgroup \setupbackgrounds[page][background=color,backgroundcolor=blue] \startstandardmakeup \switchtobodyfont[30pt]{#1: #2} \stopstandardmakeup \egroup} as a workaround, but I wonder: is my first attempt something that's simply forbidden to use or did I use it in a wrong way? is it possible to produce PDF with version < 1.3

hello all the pdf I've produced declares to be PDF v1.5 which seems to be unreadable if the acrobat version is not 8 Is it possible to demand an older version of PDF for the result of a compilation with texexec or does it depend on the ConTeXt features used? As always, any hint would be greatly appreciated. -- Yvon Henel

luatex and context for Debian

Dear all, I have updated luatex and context so currently I can even run MkIV documents ;-) Debian/sid users should have them already. Debian/etch users should get luatex 0.20.2-1 from deb http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ luatex/ deb-src http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ luatex/ Currently I have only i386 packages, but will build amd64 for etch soon. And maybe powerpc builds can be organized. math too big when in small "contexts"

Consider an example like the following: \definestartstop [extract] [style=small] \starttext \startextract As you can see, the $M$ Math is too big. \stopextract \stoptext When typeset, the math M is bigger than the capital M in "Math" following it. \useURL problem.

If I use e.g.: \useURL[a][http://www.creativemindspress.com]\from[a] it works but if I use \useURL[a][http://www.creativemindspress.com/bkpckg.htm ]\from[a] I get an error message. Yet the second form is a valid url. Any suggestions? -- John Culleton

I find in the wiki examples of \useURL. The third parameter is however a mystery to me. non-typographic apostrophe

How do I include a non-typographic apostrophe in ConTeXt? If I type ' (U+0027), it is automatically converted to a typographic (directional) apostrophe. Cheers, Mike

Hi, for fine-tuning the TOC I use e.g. ... \writebetweenlist [section] {\def\TOCstyle{\switchtobodyfont[9pt] \setupinterlinespace[line=11.15pt]}} ... for adjusting the vertical space and thus the page breaks. Is is possible to do something similar to the register? Steffen

to obtain glyphs in marvosym.pfb

hello all <summary of previous episodes> I begin to be able to use utopia-expert fonts thanks to the fourier tricks located in the different type-*.enc. My previous work with TeXfont has not been entirely useless for it has helped me to understand what I needed to use the available material which gives access to utopia-expert. I would seize the opportunity to thank all the people who made available the howtos on ConTeXt, the wiki and so on. And also those who answered my first questions on this list, even if I choose not to follow all their recommendations ;-) To say the truth I've already devoted the last three days in learning how to use ConTeXt and cannot envisage to swap to LuaTeX before some time. </summary of previous episodes> But alas I've got a new problem which I state hereafter: I've tried this: \definesymbol [Telefon][\getglyph{umvs}{\char84}] because umvs.tfm is in the marvosym directory but it doesn't work. I've also tried marvosym (because there is a marvosym.pfb) instead of umvs but to no avail. I've succeeded nonetheless in obtaining the glyphs of fourier-orns with \definefontsynonym [Fourier-Ornements] [fourier-orns] [encoding=ec] \definesymbol [lefthand][\getglyph{Fourier-Ornements}{\char116}] Is it because I need to load a map or something? \useattachment: Embedding files in PDFs

Hi all, I can use \useattachment to embed/attach files in a PDF file. I can use: \useattachment[whatever][title][newname][test.tex] \attachment[whatever] This creates an attachment with the description "title" and the name "test.tex". However, how can I set the author/subject? (Shown in tool tip of the annotation symbol; it is shown above the description; actually subject is enough for me.) Additionally, I miss the file size and possibly the modification date for the attachments; they are often handy to have. Is is possible to associate an embedded file stream with the document itself without creating an annotation symbol as with \attachment in ConTeXt? (The PDF spec allows this; cf. e.g. 3.10.3 in the PDF spec and http://www.microtype.com/showcase/EmbedFiles.pdf for an example PDF file.) Tobias
