How to make a figure not appear in the list of figures?

Hi folks, This is probably a simple problem but I can't find an answer. I have a book with a list of figures and have been asked not to include in the list a figure which does not have a caption, even though it has a number. So the numbering needs to be sequential, but one of the figures needs not to appear in the list of figures. If I define a new float type Nolistfigure with, e.g. \definefloat[Nolistfigure][figure] then it uses its own number, so I get effectively in the text: Figure 4.11 Blah blah Nolistfigure 4.1 Blah blah Figure 4.12 when what I actually want is: Figure 4.11 Blah blah Nolistfigure 4.12 Blah blah Figure 4.13 And then in the List of Figures, I want Figure 4.11 Figure 4.13 Can anyone get me a quick pointer? As ever, this request has come on the release day for this job, so anyone able to help today would be fabulous... :-) Thanks. Duncan

what about TeXML ?

Hi, today, reading through the list archive, I discovered TeXML and the documentation of Paul Trembley. The way from TeXML to ConTeXt way clearly described, a connection between TEI (!) XML and TeXML was mentioned, and all in all it was recommended to be the link between XML and ConTeXt. Well, I have no skills in writing XSLT, thus I have no idea how to come from e.g. my TEI XML to TeXML (otherwise I would have probably tried to jump the gap directly) Does anybody know more? Does an appropriate XSLT for creating TeXML already exist? Thank you, Steffen

Fullstop too close with charter

Is there a problem with font metrics for charter? \definetypeface [mainface][rm][serif][charter][default] [encoding=texnansi] \setupbodyfont[mainface, 10pt] \starttext POMDP. Test \stoptext The dot is a bit too close to the P, almost touching the vertical line. Is there an easy way to correct this? Aditya

Law/Jurisdiction typesetting

Hi, using ConTeXt more and more for typesetting books from the field of law/jurisdiction I came across some specifics that I just don't know how to do in our beloved application: 1) Paragraphs (not all) are labeled with numbers in the margin. These "paragraph numbers" are used in the table of contents in such way: you have the content's entry (eg the section heading), then the dots, then the corresponding paragraph number, then the corresponding page number. 2) Paragraphs (not all) are labeled with numbers in the margin. These "paragraph numbers" are used in a separate "paragraph register" in such way: you have the index entry (a law's number), space, then you have the corresponding paragraph number (the text paragraph where the index was used). [But of course there is also a "regular register" afterwards, containing alphabetical listed keyword index entries pointing to page numbers.] So, how can that be done?? Yours, Steffen

Lilypond for a newbie

Hello, I saw some discussions of Lilypond here, but did not understand it. :) Please, tell me as for a newbie, how to use Lilypond with ConTeXt? Space betwenn graphics in a combination

hyperlinks, don't fit to page

Hi, yet another question... How do I make hyperlinks in the \completecontent for example to jump to the title? I have -------------------------------------------------- \setupinteraction [state=start,focus=standard] \mainlanguage[de] \starttext \setupcontent [alternative=c, interaction=all, ] \placecontent \chapter{Kapitel} \section{Abschnitt} \subsection{Unterabschnitt} \chapter{Anderes Kapitel} \stoptext -------------------------------------------------- which jumps right below the head. So it might be invisible. Patrick

mag problem

Hi, I try to use \mag in a document, but I fail: \mag=700 \starttext \input tufte \stoptext gives me ! Incompatible magnification (700); the previous value will be retained (1000). Any way to get \mag to work? Patrick

appearance of \about

Version Information on each page of text

Hi, I'd like to put the phrase "Version: Fall 2007" on each page of our intermediate algebra textbook. On even-numbered pages, I'd like to put it in the lower left corner of the page, in odd-numbered pages, I'd like it in the lower right corner of the page. I'd like it to be well below the area where footnotes are posted so as not to interfere with foonotes. Any suggestions?
