Enable hyphenation or how to check it is enabled

Do I have to enable it explicitly? This is some US english text. I've specified: \language[us] at the top of my file. I'm using the latest ConTeXt, 2006-08-08. It looks like they get loaded when I generate the format: language : no patterns en for en (n=1,e=ec,m=ec) (lang-en.pat,ukhyph.tex ) language : hyphenations en for en loaded (n=1,e=ec,m=ec) (/usr/TeX/texmf/tex/context/patterns/lang-us.hyp)) language : patterns en for en loaded (n=1,e=*,m=*) language : hyphenations en for en loaded (n=1,e=*,m=*) language : no patterns uk for uk (n=2,e=ec,m=ec) (lang-uk.pat,ukhyph.tex ) language : hyphenations uk for uk loaded (n=2,e=ec,m=ec) I've tried to specify \setupalign [hyphenated] but that does not seem to help. texexec.rb + pdfetex ignoring map files in $TEXMFPROJECT

Using older ConTeXt minimals based on texexec.pl, I was able to export TEXMFPROJECT=${PWD}/texmf in each projects directory and use fonts local to just that project. Switching to the latest minimal with texexec.rb, pdfetex can't find my custom *.map files. Interestingly, it does find my custom type-*.tex files. What is the correct way to include fonts on a project by project basis instead of installing them into the global ConTeXt tree? -- Stuart Jansen <sjansen(a)gurulabs.com> Guru Labs, L.C.

Presentation help

So, I showed ConTeXt to a friend of mine. He said he wanted to try it and now -- well, you don't want to know how he swears :). We're trying to do a presentation... Anyways, I'm trying to help him... But I (we) have some problems: I managed to write something like this (it's never been so hard to write a newline!): #v+ \startsetups{myhead} \vbox{% \getmarking[sectionnumber]\crlf\getmarking[section]\par \hskip12pt\getmarking[subsectionnumber]\crlf\getmarking[subsection]} \stopsetups \setupheadertexts[] \setupheadertexts[\setups{myhead}][pagenumber] #v- That does, what it should: display section and subsection atop of each other. So, but now, he wants to have an "Introduction", which should show up in the header but without a number. I tried "\subject" but "\getmarking[section]" only returns the section, not the subject (I thought they were interlinked somehow, but...). So, is there any way to do this apart from "\ifx\getmarking[sectionnumber]{-1}" or so? Next question: is it possbible to align the text of, well, "text", i.e. the body text, vertically centered on every page? "\setupbackgrounds" won't work here. On a side note: why does it have an align-parameter, then? This one is "a bonus" for me: can someone point me in a direction where to start to build a "progress meter"? beamerstyle has a nice template where it shows the section as text and the subsections as open dots (all of them) with the current subsection as a filled dot. LucidaBrightSmallcaps-Demi

Hi all, Considering {\bf Renaud {\sc Aubin}} with lucida, I assume that "Aubin" will be typesetted using LucidaBrightSmallcaps-Demi. I was one more time wrong... I have check type-buy and there is no SerifBoldCaps defined for lucida... \bc doesn't seem to work either. Is it possible to add support to \bc in type-buy ? Renaud

\startfiguretext question

Hello, I'd like to use \startfiguretext together with \startcolumnset. If I outcomment \startcolumnset, it works ok, otherwise the figure is no longer left aligned and there is a big gap between the figure and the text. Any idea? typeface question: no small capped

Hi, I do not get a small capped with the following setup.
