Frontmatter setup

Hello, Is there a \setup... command to configure the frontmatter section block? I haven't found a clear information about this. I would like to set the page numbers to roman, but I would like to do this at an early setup stage, and not within the frontmatter with \setuplinenumbering. Is it possible? Thanks, BG

Minimal distribution linux-64

Hello, I installed the minimal distribution cont-bas.zip justtex.zip linux64tex.zip then I unzipped the files to get the directory structure outlined in README (by the way, why cont-bas.zip hasn't got tex as the top directory?). Then I did: cd /tex . setuptex mktexlsr texexec --make and got ! pdfetex.pool doesn't match; tangle me again (or fix the path). Piotr

intertext for aligned equations

Hi, I was looking at trying to implement something similar to amsmath's intertext command. I can get the basic functionality working as follows. \def\startintertext#1\stopintertext{% \noalign{#1}\NR} \startformula \startalign \NC A_1 \NC= \left| \int_0^1 (x^2 - 3x)\, dx \right| + \left| \int_1^2 (x^2 -5x + 6)\, dx \right| \NR \startintertext Take limis of both integrals %\input tufte \stopintertext \NC \NC = \left| \frac{x^3}{3} - \frac{3}{2} x^2 \right|_0^1 + \left| \frac {x ^3}{3} - 7 \frac{5}{2} x^2 + 6x \right|_1^2 \NR \NC \NC = \left| - \frac{7}{6} \right| + \left|\frac{14}{3} - \frac{23}{6}\right| = \frac{7}{6} + \frac{5}{6} = 2 \NR \stopalign \stopformula This seems to be working fine. However, \intertext defined in amsmath.sty seems to be doing a lot more (I just can't figure out what it is doing?) definelogo alignments

Experimenting with the logo features as suggested by Henning Hraban Ramm I discovered that I can say: \definelogo[Pagina][text][left][command={\framed{\blackrule}}, state=start] or \definelogo[Pagina][text][middle][command={\framed{\blackrule}}, state=start] or \definelogo[Pagina][text][right][command={\framed{\blackrule}}, state=start] with the second key making the control of the alignment of the framed material. How is possible to control the alignment if instead of [text] I use [rightmargin] ? I tried \definelogo[Pagina][rightmargin][left][command={\framed{\blackrule}}, state=start] and \definelogo[Pagina][rightmargin][middle][command={\framed{\blackrule}}, state=start] to no avail. TeX i-Package update: Charis SIL font (ConTeXt)

The TeX i-Package for Mac OS X has been updated. This update contains the new Charis SIL fonts in Truetype format and support for those for use with ConTeXt. To use the font, just add \usetypescriptfile[type-silcharis] \usetypescript[SilCharis][ec] \setupbodyfont[SilCharis,12pt] or variants on that theme to your ConTeXt project. There is no support for LaTeX until either I need it myself or someone writes it (look at the gtamacfonts to see how it can be done) and sends it to me. During configuration, the SIL fonts are also installed in (copied to) /Library/Fonts/CharisSIL so they are available for GUI apps. G

Imaginary entity rendering in MathML

Hello, The following MathML test case (rec-arg1) using newmml does not render the imaginary entity ⅈ correctly. It is shown as a minus ("-") instead of "i". I have this behaviour for any test using this entity. <math> <apply> <arg/> <apply> <plus/> <ci> x </ci> <apply> <times/> <cn> ⅈ </cn> <ci> y </ci> </apply> </apply> </apply> </math> Regards, BG

multiple line comments

Dear all, It's a bit tiring to start many lines always with %. Is it possibile to have multiple line comments like in C \* comments here *\ I wasn't able to find anything like it in manual. In this case, what about a \startcomment \stopccoment syntax? 64-bit linux minimal distribution

Hello again, Some time ago I came across an information about 64-bit Minimal ConTeXt Distribution, but I can't find it anywhere. Right now I have to stick to Debian tetex 3.0 but this is far from what I want, as ugrading to most recent ConTeXt breaks the package system. I wasn't able to setup a separate texmf tree in my home directory. It doesn't work. So maybe having a separate 64-bit debian in chroot with just a Minimal ConTeXt Distribution might solve the problem. Sorry for beeing fussy, but didn't have to make complete ConTeXt reinstallations for couple of years and now it seems things has changed rather for worse than the better :( Piotr

RFC: 'What would you like in an Text Editor?'

If you were going to use an editor for context usage (potentially integrated into a Context suite), what features would you like from it? Especially interested in what features in regular editors are quite useless to have around all the time. I tried the scite in the context mswindows distro, and didn't find it the most visually appealing and slightly cumbersome in configuration. Regards, Jeffrey Drake
