All, I tried: \placeformula[eq:twosolve] \startformula \startalign[m=3] 3-2x&>-1 &&\qor& 3-2x&<1\\ -2x&>-4 &&& -2x&<-2\\ x&<2 &&& x&>1 \stopalign \stopformula As we see in (\in[eq;twosolve]), ... But that didn't work. Suggestions?

Align a compound inequality

All, I have: \placeformula[-] \startformula \startalign[m=2] 3-2x&<-1 & 3-2x&>1\\ -2x&<-4 & -2x&>-2\\ x&>2 & x&<1 \stopalign \stopformula And it works. However, I want to sqeeze the word "or" between the inequalities on the first row so that it reads: 3 - 2x < -1 or 3 - 2x > 1 How can I do this? I am not sure what m and n are meant to do with this code. Hans said n=n_of_columns and m=n_of_pairs, but I am not sure what these mean as relates to my problem above. Ideas?

xml and buffers

Hello gurus, I'm a bit into trouble wih buffers and xml parsing. Here is my problem: I've got a .xhtml with the following lines: [...] <meta name="course_name" content="Génie Logiciel" /> <meta name="date" content="23 décembre 2005" /> [...] <title>Auction: document d'analyse</title> [...] I'm trying to store the content of the meta tag in a buffer, one per meta tag, (ie "Génie Logiciel" in buffer course_name, "23 décembre 2005" in buffer date) to use these buffers when I meet the title tag: \XMLifequalelse{meta}{name}{course_name} {\startbuffer[course_name]\XMLpar{meta}{content}{}\stopbuffer}{} \XMLifequalelse{meta}{name}{date} {\startbuffer[date]\XMLpar{meta}{content}{}\stopbuffer}{} \defineXMLenvironment [title] {\startstandardmakeup \getbuffer[course_name] \getbuffer[date]}{\stopstandardmakeup} But it does not print anything else than the title. Units -- a few things

There seems to be a small glitch in m-units.tex. The unit \Bit typesets "Bit". This is wrong, as bits are always in lowercase first letter: a single bit: bit a byte: B It is also possible to use b (for bit) and Byte (for B). However, bits are always small and Bytes large. The best practice seems to be to spell bits out (bit) and use abbreviation for Bytes (B). This minimizes confusion. I fixed this problem in my ConTeXt installation by tweaking rows 664 and 666. For more discussion, see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte It might be worth it to implement the octet (o), as well. It is a good unit (more precise and descriptive than byte) but the abbreviation is horrible. --- Another related thing is whether ConTeXt should implement IEC 60027-2 binary prefices (Ki, Mi, Gi, Ti). More info on this: http://www.iec.ch/zone/si/si_bytes.htm --- Well, then to a more practical thing... This is a very trivial question, but still. When writing a number and the unit, it would be nice to have automatic formatting. What I mean is that when I have a million two hundred thousand kilograms, I would like it to be typeset: 1(small space)200(small space)000(small space)kg Everything on a single row despite where it is. Now I write: 1\,200\,000\,\Kilo\Gram It would be more legible, if I could just write: \unit{1200000}{\Kilo\Gram} Taking care of all the fancy small spaces should be computer's problem. not mine... (Or does this mechanism already exist?) - Ville

margin text headings

Dear consortium, In \setuptexttexts[margin] it would be nice to have an option for the margin text (used for headings here) to start from the top of the textblock, instead of the middle, something like marginposition = top, middle % middle is default \setuptexttexts[margin][][\setups{text a}][\setups{text b}][] \setuptext[marginposition=top,state=high,] As is one has to do alot of guesswork. Can this be implemented (if it is not already)? In any case, is there a better way to do this (see example file)? \uchar and italics question

Hi all, Due to the nature of the font I am using (which has horrendous looking combining diacritics), I have to call the unicodeglyphs directly through the \uchar command. Which works fine for the regular face. But I am unable to get the italic glyphs via the same method. So {\it \uchar{1}{01}} renders the 'normal' regular glyph. Could somebody help me out? Sjoerd

If it is downloaded and unzipped, is it ready to go? Is there documentation of this particular zip? Is there an editor in this zip configured and ready to go? Very curious.

Text wrapping in SciTE

Hi, I was wondering what is the correct way of wrapping text while typing in SciTE. SciTE can wrap the text, but it is basically a virtual wrap, it is a long line tailored to the view of your editing window. On the other hand you can wrap the lines yourself by pressing enter wherever you think it is necessary. Which one of these methods is better? Or maybe there are better alternatives? Cheers, Hooman
