Can't compile the whole project

Hello from a new ConTeXt user! I've read the wiki-page on how to separate input files into a project structure (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Project_structure) and now I have the problem that: - I can "compile" an individual component (resulting in a PDF) - I also can compile a product - But I can't compile the whole __project__! Everytime I try to compile the project, I get the "No pages of output" message in the log. My setup is the following: ----------------File: /environment.tex------------------------- \startenvironment environment \stopenvironment ----------------File: /project.tex----------------------------- \startproject project \environment environment \product ./product/product \stopproject ----------------File: /product/product.tex--------------------- \startproduct product \project project \component ./component/component \stopproduct ----------------File: /product/component/component.tex--------- \startcomponent component \product product \project project \dorecurse{10}{Component 1} \stopcomponent %________________________________________________________________ %I've put up those files in http://schechtel.de/pub/context/proj.zip Now.. I get a PDF when I compile component.tex individually, the same with product.tex -- but the PDF is not build when I compile project.tex The Logfile http://schechtel.de/pub/context/project.log.html ...shows something very interesting (marked red, scroll down). [BIB] Extra space before surname

Hello, I just noticed that there is an extra space before the surname if there is no "von" part. puzzling metafun graphics

This one hast just cost me two hours, and I'm still baffled. The story (in shorthand): was trying to integrate a positional metafun graphic into a presentation. I got no output. I tried making a minimal example file to reproduce the problem, and sure enough, everything went fine. I rebuilt the entire file, by pasting one paragraph of the original file at a time, and I got exactly the output I wanted. [Drumroll] I deleted the original file and everything associated with it [i.e. all those .tui and .tuo etc.], saved the new file from my /tmp directory to my working directory, and -- I got no output again. diff shows that both files are identical. Looking at the logs, there's only one difference I can spot: < \openout5 = `test-mpgraph.mp'. --- > \openout5 = `05.11.08-mpgraph.mp'. 205,206c206,207 < [MP to PDF] (./test-mpgraph.1) [MP to PDF] (./test-mpgraph.2) < [MP to PDF] (./test-mpgraph.3) --- > [MP 05.11.08-mpgraph.1] [MP 05.11.08-mpgraph.2] > [MP 05.11.08-mpgraph.3] 211c212 < systems : end file test at line 426 --- > systems : end file 05.11.08 at line 426 213c214 < [flush and process test-mpgraph.mp afterwards] ) --- > [flush and process 05.11.08-mpgraph.mp afterwards] ) The "MP to PDF" part is missing from the file 05.11.08, which might explain why I don't see anything in the resulting pdf. But why? Can anybody enlighten me why the same file can behave differently? And how I can coax ConTeXt into running this MP to PDF thingy? Thanks Thomas

Section level of system supplied section?

I found myself in the need to manually specify the section level at which things like e.g. the table of contents, bibliography etc were to appear. I did this with \let\systemsuppliedtitle\subject, but it looks like an (undocumented) hack. Is there some more correct way? -- Giuseppe "Oblomov" Bilotta

Bold BibTeX refs in text?

This is my bibliography set up \usemodule[bib] \setupbibtex[database={mrabbrev,bezier}] \setuppublications[numbering=yes, sorttype=cite, numbercommand=\bracketed, refcommand=num] I would have liked the in-text bibtex refs to come out in bold, so I tried: \setupcite[num][before={\start\bf},after={\stop}] but this isn't working. I'm pretty sure I'm missing something obvious here ... While we're at it, the reference compression method is a little too aggressive: I have a \cite[onething,another] and it gives me [1--2] in text ... in this case [1,2] would be better, IMO. Compression is good if you have three or more consecutive refs. BTW, how do I add the whole database to the reference list? -- Giuseppe "Oblomov" Bilotta

I have Palatino as main font set up with \usetypescript[adobekb][8r] \loadmapfile[context-base] \usetypescript[palatino][8r] \setupbodyfont[palatino,rm,12pt] \switchtobodyfont[12pt] Plus I have \setupcapitals[sc=yes] \definestartstop[abstract] [before={\sc Abstract.\hskip1em}] But \starttext \startabstract In this article we will analyze a few techniques that can be used to approximate, by means of Bézier cubics, envelopes of circles centered on Bézier cubics. Using Adobe built-in fonts with latest context + texlive 204

I installed texlive 2004 (because I had it on a DVD, thanks NTG!). I got the latest ConText (Aug 31). The first thing I had to do was to setup the proper encoding. For example I had to specify this: \setupencoding[\s!default=8r] % or "ec", if you prefer \usetypescript[berry][\defaultencoding] or ec encoding, works as well. It didn't work out of the box unfortunately. But this seems to get me the URW fonts, not the greatest fonts. It seems the latest tex has something like updmap, whatever that is. Using "updmap --edit" I changed the LW35 setting to ADOBEkb and now I get the built-in fonts I believe. Is that correct? But I still got complaints about this one: Warning: pdfetex (file ptmbi8a.pfb): cannot open Type 1 font file for reading Warning: pdfetex (file ptmri8a.pfb): cannot open Type 1 font file for reading Warning: pdfetex (file ptmr8a.pfb): cannot open Type 1 font file for reading Warning: pdfetex (file ptmb8a.pfb): cannot open Type 1 font file for reading But document displays fine BTW. I fixed that by changing another setting: setting pdftexDownloadBase14 to false. But I'm a bit confused here. I thought Adobe had made those fonts freely available, so shouldn't they be in my tex installation? Disappearing figures

Hello people, I think I spotted a bug either in ConTeXt or in my capability comprehension. Take the following simple code: \placefigure[here][testfigs]{Test cases}{ \startcombination[3*3] {\externalfigure[tests/curves.1]}{Testcase~1} {\externalfigure[tests/curves.2]}{Testcase~2} {\externalfigure[tests/curves.3]}{Testcase~3} {\externalfigure[tests/curves.4]}{Testcase~4} {\externalfigure[tests/curves.5]}{Testcase~5} {\externalfigure[tests/curves.6]}{Testcase~6} {\externalfigure[tests/curves.7]}{Testcase~7} {}{} {\externalfigure[tests/curves.8]}{Testcase~8} \stopcombination } It works --- on the first texexec run.
