utility file analysis : another run needed

Hi, When I launch texexec --pdf ....., it runs several times (6 or 7) before ending with the following message .... : "utility file analysis : another run needed" The pdf seems to be correct but it takes long to be generated ..... Any idea of the problem ? jean-pierre

Maybe the wrong height is calculated? When we have the normal situation footnote per page, the space available is spilt for text and footnotes. In our margin construction now it seems to be still the same. When we would use the footnotes as endnotes, TeX would calculated the text per page for the entire height. So is it possible to define the space that is available per page (for text + footnote) as a combination of the normal height plus the space in the margin? I don't have an idea how to code this in plain TeX (or whatever language is used for ConTeXt), but maybe someone else knows? \setupinteractionscreen and translation failure

Since my last MikTeX update (pdfeTeX 3.141592-1.20a-rc7.1-2.1, ConTeXt 2004.8.15) the line \setupinteractionscreen[option=max] doesn't have any effect any more (the same .tex document as before produces diffrent output - I can't get the whole-screen output any more). *** *** *** *** *** The second question concerns the translations of ConTeXt support for some other languages. I've added Slovenian translations to 'lang-sla.tex' and added a couple of lines to 'cont-usr.tex'. However: I don't know how to enable it. I tried with texexec --make --alone --all, but it complains: > Undefined control sequence. > <argument> \??la \s!sl \c!status > ... > l.108 \c!status=\v!stop] Did I miss any other files, did I make any mistake in my translations, is there any other command to be executed first? Or maybe just any of my local files or settings corrupted? I also don't know what exactly to do to fully support the three special letters (and their uppercase equvalent) č,š,ž,Č,Š,Ž (\v{c},\v{s},\v{z}, ...). In 'cont-usr.tex' I simply copied \installlanguage [\s!sl] [\s!mapping={il2,ec},\s!encoding={il2,ec}] although I have no idea if it is correct or not. In LaTeX I use \usepackage[cp1250]{inputenc} (or latin2 or utf8, depending on the operating system and editor), but \useencoding and/or translate=cp1250cz in ConTeXt seem to have no effect (they do work for German äöü, but not for our strange signs). mptopdf.pl --raw warning

bug in mp

Hi, I'm currently translating all commands in the sources to english; for that i use metafun as test file. In the process I ran into a metapost fuzziness: var_123456 is not handled ok, since mp scans numbers due to the way it implements arrays. This may result in problems with transparency factors. I made a workaround, but will (can) only upload when i think that the english translations went ok. If you run into problems i can post a metafun fix. btex ... etex in .mp

Hi! I remember reading somewhere that you can't use btex ... etex in "input" .mp files, as there is no possibility for them to be processed at that time. I've hit a snag, though, and this would really be a good thing for me to have. Is there any way to get similar behavior? ConTeXt and XML: entities and attributes

I have two questions, both concerning typesetting XML with conTeXt. The first questioin is about how ConTeXt handles entity declarations and reference. concatenate PDF files.

I am looking for a way to concatenate several PDF files, and found this e-mail from Hans: http://www.tug.org/pipermail/pdftex/2001-January/000240.html saying that "texexec" can do it in several ways! and to look on the web-site, texexec manual and the mailing list for directions. I went to the manual first and found only ONE: texexec --pdfarrange --noduplex --paper=S6 file-a file-b but that nullified all links I had in my files, and changed the opening from from FitVisible to something else (all files were FitVisible). Next I went to two other sources he mentioned and Googled for: "-ntg-context concatenate pdf" did not yield much beyond that, and neither did Googling http://www.pragma-ade.com/ for the words "concatenate" or "combine". So does anyne know how to use "texexec" to concatenate two PDF files and preseve as much of the file as possible (links, opening format, ...) ? Paulo Ney
