Overfull boxes using m-cweb

Hello, I am running into overfull boxes when including a weaved cweb file into a context document. The original reference to the cwebmac.tex file (the plain TeX macro) is commented out and replaced by \usemodule[cweb]. The cweb macros appear to expand something into \*11ptmmmt* which seems to have something to do with it. Is there anyone here with experience and deep (Con)TeX(t) knowledge who understands what is happening? compound titles, lists and headers

Dear list, my publisher forces me to set different things as titles, in headers and table of contents. In some cases \nolist and \nomarking aren't enough. here are my actual definitions: ---- \def\Untertitel#1{\blank[3pt]{\ss\bf #1}\blank} % ok \def\Titel#1#2{{\nohyphens\chapter{#1}\Untertitel{#2}}} % ok \def\KomplexTitel#1#2#3{{\writetolist[chapter]{#3}\nohyphens\title{#1}\U ntertitel{#2}}} ---- with ---- \start \setupheadertexts[][manual entry][part][] % normally defined as [][chapter][part][] \KomplexTitel{Main chapter title}{chapter subtitle}{toc entry} Much text \stop % of other headertext ---- Real life example: \start \setupheadertexts [][Vorwort][][] \KomplexTitel{Die neutrale Schweiz und das globale Dorf}% {Vorwort von Prof.|~|Dr.|~|Heinrich Ott}% {Vorwort Prof.|~|Dr.|~|Heinrich Ott:\\Die neutrale Schweiz und das globale Dorf} ... critical editions in context

Sorry if this is a double post; I sent this message on Friday, and I think it somehow got lost. In March/April 2002, Hans and Idris had an interesting exchange about the topic "critical editions in context" here in ntg-context; the main question was whether the functionality of edmac could be implemented in context. I'd be curious to know whether anything came out of it, I couldn't find any follow-up. Best Thomas

startappendices creates an extra empty page

Hi, When is use \startappendices \stopappendices to create appendices, I get an extra empty page. Is there a way to solve this? If I put another chapter after the \stopappendices statement, then there is no empty page. See the following test: \setupoutput[pdftex] \starttext \chapter[]{Chapter} This a chapter \section[]{Section} This a section \startappendices \chapter[]{Appendix} This the appendix \stopappendices % \chapter[]{extra} % This extra \stoptext Any suggestions? Hi, I uploaded new bzips, these are my minimal context trees: http://www.pragma-ade.com/context/linuxtex.zip.bz2 http://www.pragma-ade.com/context/macosxtex.zip.bz2 http://www.pragma-ade.com/context/mswintex.zip.bz2 and this is for windows users, i.e. a subset of fptex: http://www.pragma-ade.com/context/tex.iso.bz2 http://www.pragma-ade.com/context/tex.tar.bz2 These two are some 144 Meg. There is also the texsyncable tree. A few remarks: (1) the cd has an autorun file (2) and also start.bat and demo.bat files (3) whatever you choose, it will also start the example framework (4) which means that you have some goodies (recently added: font tester; interface is accessible from tools menu) (5) the demo files at least can prove that tex/metapost/xml work (6) afaik it works all right on spacy install paths (7) as well as (when running from cdrom) on the local (often spacy) user temp path (8) more example interfaced stuff will follow and the interface macros itself will be documented later i'll try to get this working for linux as well (alas, ruby is not yet standard on unix and i need to get rid of hard coded scite paths) as well as macosx (dunno how to make a texshop-using-small-context-tree-run-from-cd version yet; no scite on mac yet) I can add support for more editors later; the idea is that this provides a kind of standard. The example framework is now multi-threaded. The more extended client-server alternative will follow later. m-bib sorting, etc.

Another question on m-bib: Is it possible to get the bib list alphabetized? Or is the only way this can work if the bib file itself is so, and I use the bbl sort option? Also, I am getting some weird vertical spacing in the list (like extra blank space between a couple of entries). Is there any suggested workaround for this? Bruce

Internal documentation of Context modules.

I have figured out that there is a way to print out the internal documentation of the various Context modules in a manner that makes some sense. I first use grep to extract all the %D lines of a module into a separate file e.g., foo.tex. Then I eliminate the %D tag from all lines using Vim. I add \starttext and \stoptext statements. Then I run texexec --pdf foo.tex. The result is imperfect but more or less intelligible. It seems to me that there might be a script buried somewhare in the system that does this better. Taking the last question first, when I switched over to eplain and makeindex the error of my ways became apparent--- a spurious space in an \index statement which in makeindex sorts that item ahead of the letter "A". The Context reaction to the error was different. But it was clearly user error. Since I have a job to get out the door this week, and tomorrow is Friday, I will continue with makeindex. I will also use the eplain macro for the TOC. An answer to my earlier question in re. spacing in the TOC would be welcomed however for future reference. I will try \filbreak and see if anything breaks. To make the eplain macros coexist with Context requires commenting out one line in eplain.tex: %\def^^L{\par}% What this line does I have no idea. -- John Culleton Able Typesetters and Indexers http://wexfordpress.com

1. Is it OK to use the plain tex command \filbreak in a Context run? If not OK is there a Context command that has the same effect (preventing a section of text from being split between pages)? 2. Also, I have tried several changes to my TOC code but it still yields a blank line between items. Yet the TOC of some manuals are single spaced. I cannot spot the anomaly. 3. Finally, I notice an anomaly in the indexing capability of Context. For many years I have relied on makeindex, which among other things prevents dupicative entries (the same page number printed twice on the same entry.) However Context seems to allow that. verbatim problem

hello i have a little verbatim problem i used the \startEIFFEL \stopEIFFEL verbatim environment in a verry simple way like this: \startEIFFEL class DEQUE [G] inherit DOUBLE_LINKED_LIST[G] rename extend as insertRight, prepend as insertLeft end create make, make_empty feature -- Access -- and so on \stopEIFFEL now i wanted to make this things a bit more useful and flexible. i thougt of something like this \startEIFFEL \input deque \stopEIFFEL but of corse the keyword input is normal text in verbatim mode... :) is there a simple solution for that, for example like this \startEIFFEL \specialcommand{\input deque} \stopEIFFEL ??? by the way : can i give as to the inputcommand a argument like this: \input D:\Files\ETH\Eiffel\deque.e where "deque.e" is a normal eiffel source file.... thanks for an answer mfg severin
