Dear sir, suppose that i am having a target text and link to a target text in a pdf document(created either by using pdftex or by using a distiller) if i click the link it will take you to the target text. When you go to the target text if i want to highlate the text with some color temporarily( like when you use find ) what must be the postscript code or javascript code that i should embed in a tex file. shiva shankar.

Hello, I know it's a bad habit to use stretched text, but apparently formerly people thought differently. I am typesetting old quotations and would not want to replace stretched text simply by emphasized. Is it absolutely discouraged in ConTeXt or is there any way to have it... Salvete, I finally managed to make t-nath work with \eqalign and \eqalignno. (I assume I was not the only one having trouble there?) As it appears, nath gets really confused when subformulas are enclosed in {} and contain some form of delimiters. 'german' indention in radio field

Hi there! After a new installation of Texlife my radio field example (4.10.) works (now?). But if you simply add \mainlanguage[de] the first button is indented again. i18n in ConTeXt (& some bugs)

Hi Hans, Victor, all. I've been feeling the Unicode love with XeTeX, and I explored lang-* as a major test case for internationalised text. I uncovered a few bugs along the way. In OpenType fonts, \i doesn't compose well with accents, unlike normal TeX fonts. Therefore a couple more definitions (at least) are needed in enco-acc: \defineaccent ' {\i} {\iacute} \defineaccent ` {\i} {\igrave} % etc. I had the toughest time getting strings like \v!january to switch language. I found that this change (from \currentmainlanguage) fixed the inability to \ShowLanguageValues. In lang-lab: \def\labellanguage{\defaultlanguage\currentlanguage} \def\headlanguage {\defaultlanguage\currentlanguage} Another bug in visualisation was no doubt brought on by the switch to low level english. In s-mod-00: \VL \ShowLabelText \subsection \VL\MR \VL \ShowLabelText \subsubsection \VL\MR ... changes to... \VL \ShowLabelText \v!subsection \VL\MR \VL \ShowLabelText \v!subsubsection \VL\MR With that done, I noticed a few smaller bugs in the lang-* files. I am not an expert in any of these languages, so all of my recommendations are subject to verification by people who know what they're doing! In lang-grk, a copy-paste error was propagated: \s!fi => \s!gr In lang-ura, the Hungarian word for abbreviations has a typo: R\"ovid\'\it\'esek => R\"ovid\'it\'esek (or R\"ovid\'\i t\'esek) In lang-sla, the Polish word for part has an \ecedilla, which I'm guessing should be an \eogonek... Ust\c{e}p => Ust\k{e}p (probably!) In lang-ita, The Catalan word for March is spelled with a \,. That's probably a cedilla: mar\,c => mar\c{c} Finally, I've done some work filling out enco-uc with characters used in the other encodings and (especially) characters used in the lang-* files. It's attached. I have a couple questions that remain for experts: Greek: I defined \Greekleftquot as a guillemot, as a guess. Is that right? Cyrillic: The Unicode codepoint for \cyrilicii completely baffled me for a while. (I don't have a copy of the t2a/b fonts here with me to take a look for myself!) According to Unicode, it should be the same as \cyrillici, but that can't be right. I'm now guessing that since it appears the same as the roman 'i' in enco-cyr, it corresponds with U+0456: CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER BYELORUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN I. Is that right? The additions to enco-uc are attached. I would be ever so grateful if they found their way into the distribution! By the way, although these seem like complaints, I must say (again) that the plumbing supporting arbitrary encodings, accents, and input regimes in ConTeXt is absolutely fantastic. Hi all, got the following problem: I'd like to setup the interaction for the table of contents to section numbers AND page numbers. \setupcombinedlist[content][interaction= ...] The possible values for the parameter "interaction" are: sectionnumber, pagenumber, text, all I don't want to use all because the interaction text has an another color: \setupinteraction[state=start,color=blue,style=normal] Is is possible to say something like: \setupcombinedlist[content][interaction={sectionnumber, pagenumber}] (exactly this command is not accepted) Thanks for any help! Upright greek with Fourier

Hi, I'm using the Fourier Utopia Fonts together with the latest stable i-Installer ConTeXt package. I'd like to access Fourier's upright greek alphabet, especially the large omega. However, the font including that character doesn't seem to be used in math-fou.tex. I tried all characters of mi (standard math) as well as many characters of sy and the ex one (using \definemathsymbol [otheromega] [ord] [...] [...]). I guess I'd have to define a font synonym pointing to the right font file, but my attempts didn't produce anything but garbage. At the moment I'm using \getglyph{fourier-ml}{173}, which is stupid but functional. So, can anyone help? Thanks in advance, Sebastian

Visiting Context Again --- Math

All, I'd like to pick up Context again. I have some colleagues at work who are getting new MacIntoshes and I'd like to form a group to do some articles and activities for our students. Two questions: 1. Has anyone experience with TeXShop and Context? Any special things I need to know to set it up? Any things to watch out for? 2. I understand there are some new math modules, nath and something Hans called newmat. Where can I find the documentation for these modules? Any pointers and links will be appreciated. Thanks.

problems with indented columnized itemization

Hi all, I try to generate the following output: Some Label * item 1 * item 2 * item 3 * item 4 * item 4 * item 5 i.e. I want to have a label followed by an itemization that is set in columns. I tried several things but did not succeede 1. Variant - a tabulate environment \starttabulate[|l|p|] \NC \inframed[width=\LabelWidth,align=left]{Teilnehmer}\hskip\SepWidth \NC \startitemize[columns,three] \item Bauherr \item Architekt \item Bauleiter \stopitemize \NC\NR \stoptabulate There the following problems: a) the itemization introduces an additional empty line and b) the [columns,three] parameter is not considered. 2. Variant - using a narrower \startnarrower[left] \startitemize[columns,three] \item Bauherr \item Architekt \item Bauleiter \stopitemize \stopnarrower The problem with this variant is that the coluns do not respect the right margin, i.e. the items reach beyond the paper. content list wihout chapter number

I was using \title to create my chapter titles without the chapter number. THen I used \definelist, \setuplist and \placelist to print the content, but I couldn't find the combination of parameters to do this. I simply want a content list with the chapter name, and the page number where the chapter appears. Can anybody help me? thank you Ciro

pdftex 1.20a and map files

Salvete, I tried upgrading to pdfTeX 1.20a on my powerbook. I built the binaries successfully and placed them and their pool files into some temporary location and I was able to build ConTeXt formats. Unfortunately, pdftex.map was not found, generated files have just lots of empty pages. I did try "sudo texmfstart textools --fixtexmftrees", but that did not move pdftex.map from its place in dvips/config. I tried to follow the NEWS file in the pdftex distribution, but that only lists two non-existant URLs at tug.org to find information. The list archive of tex-live seems to have moved and to be inaccessible to non-subscribers. Not wanting yet another mailing list, I just don't have access to this vital piece of information, which imho should be listed right in the NEWS file. Where is pdftex.map and the likes supposed to be for 1.20a? regards, Christopher Creutzig

The following example works on live@contextgarden, but on my computer it only writes "unknown" at the place of "x". btex etex also doesn't work in ConTeXt (metaplay) on my computer, although it does without any problems in metapost/mptopdf. \starttext \startMPpage draw textext.origin("x"); draw fullcircle scaled 2cm; \stopMPpage \stoptext I use the latest MikTeX distribution (although ConTeXt may not be really up-to-date, but that shouldn't be a problem, I suppose). It's probably just a matter of a single setting or so (it should be corrected in MikTeX as well if that's the case), but I don't know where to start looking. Thanks for help, Mojca Miklavec

Dear Hans and all, again, thanks for your help! Everything is working as it should now. After asking on the TeX on OSX mailing-list, I found out that there was an experimental installation that already contains pdftex 1.20a, so I upgraded. I changed texmf.cnf as you suggested to Christopher Creutzig yesterday, regenerated mapfiles, and everything's bright again. But I was sweating and cursing... If it hadn't been for a complete backup of my old TeX installation on my second hard drive and your wonderful help, I would have had a lot of serious troubles. I guess that's a general problem with TeX installations: originally, they were made for UNIX mainframes maintained by knowledgeable sys admins who would likely know how to cope with such a situation. Nowadays, I assume that the majority of TeX users sit in front of their own box, and even though I can do some things on the command line and have by now acquired a reasonabel amount of TeXpertise, I would have been absolutely helpless without you and Gerben's great installer. So you're absolutely right: downward compatibility is broken; it is difficult to make local changes without wiping the entire installation. That's what you get from being impatient... Update to Pdfetex 1.20a

Hi Hans, Hi all, i tried to update pdfetex to 1.20a. I used the standalone version by Fabrice Popineau from: http://public.www.planetmirror.com/pub/ctan/systems/win32/fptex/standalone/ If pdfetex tries to insert a ttf-font i get an error-message: Windows complains: ... systems : end file test at line 6 )<c:\tex\texmf-local/fonts/truetype/chinese/htsong.ttf return code : 65280 run time : 2 seconds total run time : 2 seconds I run the latest stuff from pragma (binaries, context) under Win XP. The fonts are from ctex.org. My input file is: \loadmapfile[gbk] \usemodule[chinese] \usemodule[chi-simplified] \starttext \section{test} \stoptext Is this a bug in pdfetex? Greetings Lutz
