Hi, I'm uploading an update. This fixes the missing texmfstart in the windows related zips. I also added format generation entries in the toolsmenu of scite. Because luatex runs from temp paths, you need to regenerate a format after updating. Double integral and subscripts

Hi all, I want to typeset double integral with subscript beneath the integral symbol. I found \unic@dblint for double integral, and used the usual \limits in plain tex: \unic@dblint\limits_{\startsubstack x \ge 0,\NR 0 \le y \le T\stopsubstack} The subscript did go below the integral, but the two integral symbols are separate from each other. Hello all, I have fetched mswincontext.zip from 06-Aug-2007. I would like to update it to the latest status of ConTeXt and then install the latest (dev.) version 0.997 of XeTeX but I miss somehow the procedure on the context/xetex mailing list. Hi, With LaTeX I was able to set my own PDF metadata, is this possible with ConTeXt? I mean things like: Title, Subject, Author, Keywords, Creator, Producer? Also, I generally like to include my .tex source file into my PDF as a text file attachment. LaTeX has a package for this, does ConTeXt have similar functionality? Background image

Hi, I'm trying to layout a book for Lulu.com. I'm working with a 9"x6" paper size, which is going to be printed on 9.25"x6.25" stock paper to enable full bleed printing. I have managed to get a background image using a background layer. However, I don't seem to be able to get it to the right size. Sample files: http://area42.pcode.nl/context/ In the PDF you can see, that I'm stuck with a white edge. I need the background picture to fill my entire page with no white left. I also need to crop marks to remain on top of the background image. The supplied background image has the same height/width ratio as the stock page. Because there were map-files for conTeXt at the gyre-site and a typescript with ConTeXt, I thought I just have to copy everything to the right place. But obviously the gyre-map-files don't fit with the type-gyr script. On the other site, installing the fonts with texfont works, but I don't have found the trick to install the small caps variant, and the naming is not yet the same as in type-gyr (I have to experiment a bit with this!) Presentation style problem

Hello, I've been using the "green" presentation style aka s-pre-02 in a few presentations. When I typeset these now, using ConTeXt ver: 2007.04.17 12:51 MKII fmt: 2007.5.18 int: english/english, (or LiveConTeXt as of today), the text runs right up to the green rectangle, leaving no margin (left, right, top, bottom). I have fiddled with various options of \setuplayout to not much avail, curiously repeated typesetting gives different results (which stabilize after the second pass). I am once again looking for the right incantation to get the text back nicely into its frame. Hallo, I have some problems useing the font adventor from gyre project. After downloading the fonts and the context map-files from the gyre- site, I tried the following: \usetypescriptfile[type-gyr] \definetypeface[adventor][ss][sans][adventor][default][encoding=ec] \setupbodyfont[adventor,ss,9pt] \starttext \ss Bla \stoptext but I get ! Font \*adventor12ptsstfss*:=TeXGyreAdventor-Regular at 12.0pt not loadable: Metric (TFM) file not found. After that I looked into the type-gyr typescript and found \loadmapfile[ q\typescriptprefix{f:\typescripttwo}-\typescriptthree.map] but the map-file is ec-qag.map! So I changed that to \loadmapfile[ \typescriptthree-q\typescriptprefix{f:\typescripttwo}.map] But the errormessage was exactly the same as befor. Btw.: Why are there TWO \loadmapfile entrys in type-gyr? A WinEdt problem ?

Dear Mr. Arnold, I am using a WinEdt-driver to run my Tex-files, but in no case I can run any Metafont-file to create, say, labels in my Feynman diagrams. In fact I can draw the diagrams getting them in a stored Dvi-file, but on the other hand, I fail to do it as regards the font-label therein. The author of the Feynman package suggests me to run the related Metafont-file in my WinEdt-driver. However both, him as well as me, really have no idea in what way that could be done at all. Hi Aditya Basically I want to include the RSFS font and some user defined symbols from txexa as explained in my previous email. I did some testing with the test code which I send and found the cause of the problem, however no solution yet. The cause of the problem lies in the line where I say \definetypeface[MyFace] [mm] [math] [modern] *[modern] *[encoding=ec] This will enable the user defined symbols and all the math symbols as shown via \showmathcharacters are correct. However all the matrix, mathmatrix environments don't adhere to the aligment I specify except for the first option i.e. when I say \startmatrix[align={right, etc .... }] everything is aligned to the right but the other aligment options are ignored. When I substitute *[modern]* with *[default] *as in \definetypeface[MyFace] [mm] [math] [modern] *[default] *[encoding=ec] In this instance all the aligment as specified in the matrix, mathmatrix environments work. However some of the math symbols like \Delta are incorrect. And my user defined symbols are also incorrect. Hope you can find a solution. Kind regards Wim

Detail on footnote placement (vertical, page)

Hi, if, at the last page of a chapter, there is only little text (e.g. 10% of text-height) is it then possible to attach the footnote-rule and the footnote-text directly under the text (but only this page – the other pages should place the footnote-text flush-bottom) in order to avoid a huge empty white space between body-text and footnote-text? XeTeX typescripts in ver: 2007.07.24

In ver: 2007.01.12, a typescript like this works fine: \starttypescript[serif][minion][uc] \definefontsynonym [MinionRegular] ['Minion Pro:mapping=tex-text; +onum;'] [encoding=uc] \stoptypescript We get Minion Pro, mapping TeX markup to unicode characters and old- style numbers. This seems not to work in ver: 2007.07.24: the font can't be found (I'll put a bit of the log file at the end). Interesting, the same thing does *not* happen when not going through a box, but typesetting things directly in the page. Hans, Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that and then tested: texexec --xtx sample_file but I still got the error. Is there a way to overwrite/update the installation as I did with ConTeXt? Fixing/Updating ConTeXt

This must sound stupid, but how do you update ConTeXt via the command line on Mac OSX? I'm using the MacTeX distribution and Mac OS 10.4.10. I tried (foolishly) to install the newest version of ConTeXt using i-installer, but that screwed up my current installation, so I was wondering if I could overwrite it with a new version. Step-by-step instructions would be very much appreciated! Weird frontmatter behaviour

Hi all! I have a well-defined project with its products, components and environment file. The structure works and all that, so my problem that I am going to describe below is not there. In my document structure, each product corresponds to one Part. My environment file defines no header whatsoever for the very first page of a Part section (header=high). When a Part is in the frontmatter, the header does not disappear. When the same part is in the bodymatter, it works -- the header is not there. Here is my main project file when I attempt to test exactly that, with only two parts (no need for more at the moment): \startproject These \environment env_these \startfrontmatter \product prod_liminaire \stopfrontmatter \startbodymatter \product prod_liminaire \product prod_p1 \stopbodymatter \stopproject The product called "prod_liminaire" currently contains my title page only. I do know that doing exactly the above makes no sense, but like I said I did that only to test out the problem. So, when I compile this, prod_liminaire has a header in the frontmatter, but it has NO header in the bodymatter. It's the very same file to the very last byte, only in a different sectionblock. And it behaves differently. What's wrong? I'm really at loss over this. I obviously want no header in the frontmatter Parts, that's where my product prod_liminaire normally goes. Thanks in advance! Linetable height (actually, depth) bug

Hello all, as I mentioned in the 'framing a linetable' thread, there is a bug in the stable (march '07) version of ConTeXt concerning the linetable *depth*. Example file: \setupcolors[state=start] \starttext \setuplinetable[r][2][height=30pt,background=color,backgroundcolor=blue] \startlinetable \BR \BC one \EC \BC two \EC \ER \BR \BC three \EC \BC four \EC \ER \stoplinetable more text \stoptext "more text" will appear in the blue area of the second line, instead of after the linetable, because the depth of the table lines are smashed to be one strutdepth in \flushlinetableparts -- Giuseppe "Oblomov" Bilotta

Hallo! Downgrading to gs version 8.11 does NOT help, but downgrading to 8.11 AND changing the makempy methode from pdf to ps helps! gs 8.57 hangs with ps too. If an ps guru can interpret the gs error message, I will send this of list!? I have a problem with \startstopitemize with \setupitemize[each][][stopper=:] After some \startitemize ... \stopitemize groups conTeXt(ver. 2007.07.25) starts to count from zero (not longer from one). I get : Bla a: Blub b: Bautz not a: Bla b: Blub c: Bautz A few weeks ago someone has found an itemize bug. Is this my problem too, or what could be my problem. I tried to create a minimal example. Non-printing macro disturbs line justification.

I did a big project in Context and becuse I wanted to use the special features of eplain's interface to makeindex I wrote my own indexing macro. Every place I inserted a call to this macro extra space appeared at that point. Here is my macro: \def\sidx#1{\write\ind{\\indexentry{#1}{\the\pageno}}} I had to retreat to the regular Context indexing tag. extra math symbols and alignment

Hello, I am trying to extend the standard math collection with some symbols from the Ralph Smith Formal font and some extra integral symbols from the txexa font. I used the example from http://wiki.contextgarden.net/rsfs. The problems I am having is 1) Some of the standard math symbols are overwritten as shown by \showmathcharacters. 2) Alignment of left,right and middle is not working when I use matrices. Align ignored in definemathmatrix ?

Hi, It seems that \definemathmatrix is ignoring the align options. I defined a new math matrix \startmycases and compared the alignment of the columns with \startalign. In the \startmycases the alignment has no effect but it should work according to mathalign.pdf document. Unnumbered TOC

Sections have numbers, subjects etc. don't. What I want is a series of subdividisions (subject, subsubject etc. without visible numbers which nevertheless show up in a chapter table of contents, again without numbers, just page numbers. I tried defining a combined list foo thus: \definelist[subject][alternative=a] \definelist[subsubject][alternative=a] \definelist[subsubsubject][alternative=a] \definecombinedlist[foo] [subject,subsubject,subsubsubject] [level=subsubsubject,criterium=local] but when I state \placelist[foo] ...nothing appears. Should I start all over, replace subjects with sections etc. and then try to suppress the numbering in both places? There is of course an easy answer that I am missing. :<( -- John Culleton
