Hello, I am writing an environment for a document and there should be a page with some text at the end of the document. In LaTeX I use \AtEndDocument{} command, but how does one achieve the same effect in ConTeXt? Thanks, Marius

Hullo, a few weeks (months?) ago there was a debate on this list about sprucing up the 'bib' module. I don't know what the policy about reviving old threads is, so I started a new one. The biggest problem I had (and still do) with the 'bib' module is that I cannot directly use the data I have stored as bibliography data in the on-page citations. In my "PF_UL" style I had to introduce a few new bibfields that basically repeating the same data again. E.g. to have a list of shortened names like "J. Smith, H. Potter and G. ConTeXt for TL 2010

Dear Hans, since the version of LuaTeX will be frozen to 0.60.0 in TeX Live (I assume), would it make sense to put some effort into making sure that the version of ConTeXt that will be shipped with TeX Live will be at least compatible (and possibly free of some bugs that will be discovered by the time of release) with the shipped LuaTeX or are you already in the middle of some big rewriting project targeting at luatex beta-0.6x/0.7x? The following code numbers the pages as I desired and the TOC lists those page numbers. However, it is not doing two things as I desire and would appreciate it if someone could indicate precisely which lines of code need to be corrected. LuaTeX beta-0.60.0 on Mac OS X Tiger (was: Latest beta...)

Dear Mac users, according to the latest findings it seems that natively compiled LuaTeX still works on Mac OS X Tiger, but the cross-compiled one (compiled on 64-bit Mac OS X Snow Leopard) won't work on Tiger since the version beta-0.60.0. However, users report that it still runs perfectly fine on Leopard. Michael has sent me a new binary compiled on PPC; any user of Tiger on Intel (Willi?) that would like to use the new beta should sent me his own binary. But in any case it would be great if somebody would figure out the reason why the new LuaTeX fails to work on older macs. Before we were first able to cross-compile, Arthur had to suggest quite some changes in LuaTeX source, so maybe some of newly added libraries or some configuration started messing up things recently. Based on some assumptions: - there are not too many Mac OS X 10.4 machines around - there are not too many testers of the latest-and-greatest LuaTeX version (apart from ConTeXt community) - if there appears to be a combination of both, users will either stick to some older TeX or at least they will compile luatex on their own (again, apart from ConTeXt community) I expect that there will probably not be much more feedback about the problem, but it would be really really great to fix it. I have no access to Tiger at the moment. I hope that Dick will be able to provide some more feedback once he comes to it. Until that is resolved: if osx-intel/osx-ppc users want to have a working version of minimals, you'll have to provide luatex version on your own. The following example computes page numbers correctly, places the correct entries into the TOC, and produces the desired page headers on the first pages of chapters. However, there are some things it doesn't do properly: 1. It puts headers on blank pages at the ends of chapters even after I inserted the code that takes care of that problem. 2. The xml-count() function does not result in 0 when none of the node sought is absent. Documentation for \completecontent

http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Category:Reference/en includes no references for \completecontent or \placecontent. "Context the Manual" discusses the commands a bit but does not define them. Given that \completecontent is listed in group 2 of the Top Ten Context commands that a beginner might focus his or her attention on in the introduction to "Context the Manual," one might expect a bit more documentation of the command. I have two problems related to the table of contents that I can't resolve from my understanding of the documentation: 1. The table of contents is printed out of order in the PDF. It seems that \completecontent must appear before the preface or foreword if they are to be listed in the TOC. However, the Chicago Manual of Style calls for them to be placed before the TOC in the book. 2. The introduction is placed in the frontmatter because placing it in the bodymatter causes it to be treated as chapter 1. This location results in the introduction having the same first page header as front matter. Enumeration

Hi all, I'm working on my thesis and I need a mechanism very similar to float and its reference/caption facilities except it can't be floating. My problem is the following: I've boxes to display corresponding to operators. They should be numbered (like figure, tables, etc.) and having a list is a plus and I should be able to do \about[myoperator] to display the name of the operator. I tried to declare a float and it works perfectly, except it is floating and do not respect the flow I would like to have. I tried enumeration but I can't do \about and I really need it. I want to be able to write, in my text, \cite[myKey] (where myKey is the key of a record in my .bib file), and have this appear in print as: [<a number>] linked to the bibliograpy page where it (<a number>) occurs. I've been puzzling over bibmod-doc.pdf. I think the solution has to do with the commands \setuppublications and \setupcite, but since bibmod-doc never says what these commands do, it's very difficult. I'm guessing \setuppublications might be able to control what argument I should use in the \cite[] command. I'm guessing \setupcite might control how a citation will be printed in the text. (If this is true, the manual should say so so the reader doesn't have to guess.) One cryptic line tells me: "refcommand the default option for \cite" just like that. Based on this, I'm guessing refcommand=key will let me write things like \cite[myFirstKey]. The manual goes on to clear up the confusion by explaining: "The \cite command has a lot of alternatives, as could be seen above in the setting of ‘refcommand’." That's it---no mention of what \setupcite does. Based on this, I'm hoping that \setupcite[num] will cause the citation to be printed as [<some number>], e.g., [1]. So, I'm using: \usemodule[bib] \setupbibtex[database=myProject] \setuppublications[refcommand=key,alternative=apa,setupinteraction=start,numbering=yes] \setuppublicationlist[] \setupcite[num][] ... \placepublications[criterium=all] The bibliography prints out, but citations appear as empty brackets: "[]". I want them to be numbers linked to the appearance of the same number in the bibliography. There must be a way of doing this?

And a great palliative way to deal with 3D annotations is via attaching a 3D PDF file made with LaTeX (by Asymptote, for example). But while your method of answering my messages in lua works OK for new code (updating minimals and making a diff with old code is not harder than checking e-mail inbox - "Your morning patch, sir!" ;), I can not deduce from existing sea of ConTeXt code the status of file attachments support.

\thinrules disappear when then are the lone item and I can make them appear only by typeing somthing behind/before. However, I would to force a thin rule anyway, even if there is no surrounding text. How? Hans van der Meer

MetaPost Animation

I am trying to create an animation in ConTeXt + MetaPost. In particular, I would like to have ConTeXt + MetaPost generate each individual frame of the animation, and then I would like to place each of these graphics on the page in succession. I am looking for a "ConTeXt way" without placing the MetaPost code in a separate source file, running MetaPost, and using \externalfigure. The following MetaPost sample code generate 21 graphics images (numbered .0 to .20), but I have no idea how to have ConTeXt generate these graphics without a manual external MetaPost run and have them included in a way that is consistent with \startuseMPgraphic or similar.
