Changing Body Font

Hey list, I am trying to change the body font of my document in the environment file to use the Ubuntu font provided at, /usr/share/fonts/truetype/ubuntu-font-family/Ubuntu-R.ttf , by the ttf-ubuntu-font-family package. animation module

Dear Wolfgang, Today I updated minimal with --extras= all and test the animation module. \setupinteraction[state=start] \usemodule[animation] \starttext \startanimation {one} {two} {three} \stopanimation \stoptext But there is nothing in the output. I got blank page only. I check the log file and found that t-animation is loaded. Is there any change of using animation module? luatex version is beta 0.70.1 and minimal version is 6.25. Thank you. t-filter: no table created when Unicode characters are included

Dear ConTeXt folks, the filter module installed using $ ./first-setup.sh --extras="t-filter" does not work with the following example, which is also attached. \usemodule[filter] \defineexternalfilter[rest][filtercommand={pandoc -f rst -t context -o \externalfilteroutputfile\space \externalfilterinputfile}] \starttext There should be a table here. \startrest ========= ========= test table ========= ========= α b c d ======== ======== \stoprest \stoptext The output file `minimal-temp-rest.tex` is just empty. Replacing »α« by »a« solves the problem. Running `filtercommand` in a terminal produces the *correct* output though and no empty file. Is that a known problem? interpunct is not shown like \cdot in mathmode

Hey. Trying to use the interpunct · as a dot operator (normally \cdot), I noticed, that it is not shown correctly in math mode. Since the interpunct has different applications in different languages, in text mode its appearance seems to be okay. But isn't it possible to change its functionality to a multiplication sign in math mode? Find tex- and pdf-file attached. Yoraxe

I have Texlive installed on Ubuntu Linux x64. The version is listed as "2009-11." Hi all, I got the reason why the pictures locate in different position. "rotation" causes the problem. I defined domino as follows. It is not the exact code but just show the form of the codes. ... def domino (a, b, c, d ) save pic; picture pic; draw something 1; draw something 2; pic := currentpicture; draw pic rotated 90 shifted ( c, d ); enddef; and call it using \startbuffer[domino3] domino (1, 2, 3, 4); domino (2, 1, 1, 2); domino (3, 3, 2, 3); \stopbuffer and \processMPbuffer[]. it draw the first domino at the right place, but it is rotated when the second domino is drawn. Hence, it actually rotated 180 degree. Also two dominos rotated again when the third domino is drawn. Previous drawings are rotated again again when the function domino called. How to avoid this problem? How to draw one figure and move to wanted position and draw another figure and move to another location without changing the previous figure? When the Latin alphabet enters, as is becoming more and more common, especially in technical literature, the monospacing breaks down, and common practice is to just typeset paragraphs in block form, adding the necessary spacing. Typescripts are already working wonderfully in ConTeXt (thank you!), so for now it should be only a matter of supporting the characters. restrict # TeX Context runs

I am typesetting a lot of small Metapost pictures, each on a separate page: from a few hundred to more than thousand. ConTeXt will pass some three times over the input, but I need just the bare Metapost pictures. My guess is, that one pass over the input will be sufficient to provide a view to all the pictures. How can I restrict the number of passes in the ConTeXt run? It surely is simple, but I cannot find the macro. Hans van der Meer

The problem is that when I derive a next style - "\definehead[sectionMiddle][section]" (try to comment the proper line), look of the TOC changes (?!) - some extra space before "Cha2" appears; see both test21.pdf and test22.pdf. So how to keep the same look of the TOC? And - would you recommend any better solution how to define \(start/stop)command which would force heads to be mid-aligned? But now I have some lemmata that should get some kind of title, for example: "Lemma 1 (Farkas Lemma) Some slanted text." How can I achieve this without defining a new description for every "special case"? I tried something like "\startlemma[right={My title}]" without avail. I want the "title", "(Farkas Lemma)" in the above example, to be placed before the added "distance". In addition I would like to be able to set (within \definedescription for all lemmata would be enough) whether I want the "title" to be bold (like the head "Lemma 1") or not. Is all or some of this possible? I'm pretty confident that ConTeXt can already handle this, but I don't know how. Thanks in advance for any hints! Kind regards, Stefan

Hi, Changing the code as following, it moves to the correct location. There may be a problem using pic := currentpicture; Instead of using draw pic scaled DieSize shifted (dx,dy); apply the shift directly to "draw pips". Hi, I am trying to draw dominos using metapost and ConTeXt. I borrow part of the code in Threeddice.mp by Dan Lueking for drawing dots. To display blank dominos where I want and drawing one domino work well but drawing several dominos where I want is not working well. Missing character: There is no ⋆ (U+22C6) in font euler! Using "\star" only worked as a workaround until recently. I'm not doing anything wrong here, am I? Colors: printing vs. on screen

Dear List, I defined the following color for one of my documents: \definecolor[P][r=0.64,g=0.22,b=0.27] When I printed this document on a probably typical office laser printer (a Canon iRCXXXX), the colors didn't match. (not even close and I didn't like the printed color) This is probably no real surprise, but can anybody provide some insight or hints to information on these matters to me: -- Are "spot colors" the thing to use to get a grip on these matters? -- Is this generally only a matter of "color spaces" and transformations between them? or ... -- Is this also dependent on specific printer models (eg. different office laser printers)? -- If yes, is there any source on information on the pecularities of these printers? kind regard and thanks Erik

Hey list, I am running ConTeXt version 2011.06.17 16:50 pulled from Adam's PPA. From the Chemistry wiki article here, http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Chemistry , I am attempted to compile the water reaction example here: \usemodule[chemic] \startformula \chemical{2H_2,+,O_2,->,2H_2O} \stopformula The image following it on the wiki looks as one would expect, but mine does not. I compiled the same code, but bracketed with \startstoptext and my generated PDF contains literally the following: 2H 2,+,O 2,–>,2H 2O Something's not right. Any ideas? Hello ConTeXtist. Is there any possibility to influence the appearance of a list of bibliography when I make it in MKIV minimals using the command \placepublications? I am thinking in particular spacing, stoppers etc. Specifically, I need to change the alignment of reference items and increase the gap between an item and the relevant literature item. ConTeXt Minimals: How to install fonts?

Dear ConTeXt folks, I want to use Neo Euler (euler-otf) and was wondering if there is an option for `first-setup.sh` to install fonts? What is the recommended way to install fonts? Using a GNU/Linux distribution should I use those tools to install fonts? I read [2], [3] and [4] but could not find a definite way besides copying the files to the corresponding directories. Dear all, My last question concerning feature files has been resolved, my feature files now work fine. But there is one problem that still remains. The standard ligatures in the font I use (Andron Mega Corpus) work fine when approached by name in the feature file (some of them are in the PUA here); However, other ligatures, notably Th, do not work in stable nor beta. When I run context mkiv and it calls on e.g. the Th ligature, i get "!LuaTeX error (file:(...)): Invalid glyph index (gid ...). I tested it on palatino linotype which does the same. Interestingly, the gid that luatex says is invalid is always the one after the last glyph in the font (For palatino linotype, 1328; for Andron Mega Corpus, 5486). In Andron Mega Corpus, I furthermore tested all the ligatures that had a unicode codepoint (PUA) and they all work when referenced by name. All those that do not, however, fail to work. What is going on here? Working on Mac OS X 10.6.7, btw. Some help is greatly appreciated. Kind regards, Stef Schoonderwoerd

Hello ConTeXist. When I create my own list of content, so there is a repetition of chapter numbers in the list of contents. Is it a bug in last minimals? In previous versions it worked OK! List of bibliography problem in mkiv minimals

Hello ConTeXist again, I found an irregularity in the functioning of the latest minimals beta version and earlier versions. When a create list of bibliography (in a my little special format), then item numbers are aligned left, whereas previously been aligned to the right. In addition, the number of items and this item almost no space (especially when double-digit item number). Previously everything (for example in TexLive MKIV version of ConTeXt) was OK! Right-to-left Floating
