hi, As described in the title, how to reset fallbackfont? I have created a number of Chinese typescripts and related fallbackfont (latin). However, in the actual operation process, I found that if you want to switch different fallbackfont, you must change the bodyfont at the same time (\setupbodyfont). The following is an example. New example, Distance between the background and the frame not wanted

Dear List, I have a little new example. What I do like to know: what command do I use, if I do not want a distance between the blackrule and the frame? month form \currentdate in Roman numerals

Dear list, I would like to get the current month in Roman numerals (just now, it would be XII for December). The best I get is: \currentdate[\cldcontext{converters['R'] (tonumber(os.date("\letterpercent m", os.date(os.time()))))}] This strikes me as too complex (even for someone who cannot code). Is there now simpler way to write that? Just in case it may be relevant, this is part of the full day reference. Many thanks for your help, Pablo

Right-to-left natural tables

Hello, Are natural tables still the recommended table mechanism in ConTeXt? How can I get the order of cells in each row reversed (going from right to left)? \starttext \placetable{Caption} {\bTABLE \bTR \bTD One \eTD \bTD two \eTD \eTR \bTR \bTD Three \eTD \bTD fourteen \eTD \eTR \eTABLE} \setupalign[r2l] \placetable{Caption} {\bTABLE \bTR \bTD One \eTD \bTD two \eTD \eTR \bTR \bTD Three \eTD \bTD fourteen \eTD \eTR \eTABLE} \stoptext I expect the second table to completely mirror the first one. Though the cell contents (as well as the caption) are reversed, the order of cells in the row are the same as in the first table. For columns, we have a *direction* key, but I couldn't find anything like that for natural tables. Thanks for your help, Mohammad

Quads not appearing

Hi, I have an xml setup like the one below. In my real document the qquads in xml:index-entry don't appear, but I haven't been able to reproduce the problem in the MWE. What could be the cause of such an issue? margn text on makeup page -- how?

Is there a way to get margin text in a makeup page? Description Lists with labels longer than a single line

Hi, I have a list of description (used to typeset an index) where in a few cases the label is longer than a single line. issue with agr loaded patterns

Dear list, I have the following sample: \setupbodyfont[dejavu] \mainlanguage[agr] \setuplanguage[es][patterns={es, agr}] \starttext \startTEXpage[offset=1em] \hyphenatedword{πράγματα}\\ \es\hyphenatedword{πρᾶγματα}\\ \hyphenatedword{τέκνον}\\ \stopTEXpage \stoptext On the first line, I get the hyphenated word πράγ-μα-τα. But on the second line (with I thought they were the same paterns), I get the same word hyphenated as πρά-γμα-τα. What am I missing here? I would expect the same results. BTW, shouldn’t be τέκνον hyphenated as τέκ-νον? Many thanks for your help, Pablo

context / auctex problem?

Apologies for this question, which is probably an auctex problem. I have a new install of everything (LinuX, emacs, texlive) and the latest (?) context (ConTeXt ver: 2024.05.27 18:16 LMTX) installed in a separate directory. Running context from the commandline works fine, so I guess I did not misspell the path, but when running "Context All" from emacs, the error is: ----- Running `ConTeXt' on `context-test' with ``context --once --nonstop context-test.tex'' /bin/sh: Zeile 1: context: Kommando nicht gefunden. Mathdigits fallback does not work

Hello, I use fallbacks to substitute "Arabic" digits in math to Indic ones. The mechanism doesn't work in the newest context. I tried it with mkxl version in 2025.02.04 17:52 in a clean install. The email is a bit long, but please bear with me, so I can learn a few other things along the way. Compiling type-imp-mathdigits.mkiv (provided in the distribution) does not change the digits to Indic form. Could you also explain the difference between setupbodyfont and switchtobodyfont? Do I need the latter? So if I have something like {\bf $2+3$}, then the fallback does not kick in. 3) I can't use \definefontsynonym[MathRoman][MathRoman][fallbacks=mathdigits] because it creates a loop. Is there a way to "deep copy" font definitions (rather than the "copy by reference") we have here? That way, I could run the fallback for both MathRoman and MathRomanBold. Speaking of which, what's the difference between \definefont and \definefontsynonym? What happens when either of these appear within a typescript definition? Is the only difference, that within typescripts we have a separate namespace to which the Sans, Serif, MathRoman, etc. are attached? Can I access the MathRoman defined within typescript MyTypescript as "MyTypescriptMathRoman" or something like that? What about if I define BaseMath (a non-standard name, other than Sans, SansBold, MathRoman, etc.)? Are these also attached to that namespace? What is typescriptcollection BTW? Is it only cosmetic? Or can we pull in all definitions from a collection? Does it have to be the same as the file name? What's the difference between MathRoman and MathRomanBold? I thought when we would automatically get the Bold, Italic, BoldItalic variants when we define something like Sans. Or do we need to pull in some setups for that? For math, it seems that MathRoman has all the bold glyphs inside (at the digitsbold offset). Does it also have the bold version of other symbols? Then, what's the use of MathRomanBold? In the math typescripts, I see the feature "math\mathsizesuffix"? Is it for normal, script, scriptscript size? Who sets this macro? Are the math typescripts loaded multiple times with different \mathsizesuffix values? At what time? Back to the original question, if I switch usetypescript and setupbodyfont (see below), I see the math font changes taking effect (e.g., by picking up euler-math.otf instead of xits-math.otf). Sorry, but I can't typeset math unless various parameters have been set. This is normally done by loading special math fonts into the math family slots. Your font set is lacking at least the parameter mentioned earlier. When it's commented, the fallbacks still don't happen, even if I rewrite the last definition as \definefontsynonym [MathRoman] [MathRomanDigitsXitsDejavu][fallbacks=mathdigits]. In some other tests (not with math), I noticed that in fallback definition, I also need to set the target key to be the same as the second parameter of the definition; something like: \definefontfallback [mathdigits] [dejavusansmono] [digitsarabicindic] > [check=yes,force=yes,offset=digitsnormal,target=digitsarabicindic] But I don't have a MWE for it right now. bidi gone in serried enumeration

Hi, In the example below, when the "text" is non-English and we want a titled serried enumeration, bidi stops working in rendering of title. This works fine when I use other alternatives (top, left, etc.). Setting headalign=r2l or using \setupalign[r2l] has no effect. Following example (taken from the wiki) produces an error with lmtx: \definetabletemplate[booktabs][o0|l|l|ro0|] \starttable[booktabs] \NC first column \NC second column \NC third column \NC \AR \stoptable Following example works: \starttable[o0|l|l|ro0|] %same as above, but without the use of the defined template \NC first column \NC second column \NC third column \NC \AR \stoptable I know that this table-environment is deprecated. But it is best suited for my project. I love the use of the template with this environment. Thanks for looking into it. Christian
