Footnote mark gap

Dear All, when footnotes are placed after certain accented characters, the corresponding footnote marks are rendered too close to them: \starttext í\footnote{í} T\footnote{T} ľ\footnote{ľ} ě\footnote{ě} ď\footnote{ď} \stoptext Is there any option for making this distance a bit larger? On the other hand this gap may produce too much white space when placed after characters like period or comma... Ideally it could be positioned 'optically' ;-) Regards, Jan

different page sizes on one sheet

hi, i'm new to the list and also pretty new to ConTeXt (but I used LaTeX for a lot of years), but need a quite complicated page setup right in the beginning: i have a combination of two A5 pages and four A6 pages and i'd like to put them on one double sided A4 paper sheet (please use monotyped font to see the scheme correctly) +----------+----------+ | | | | A6 | | | | | +----------+ A5 + | | | | A6 | | | | | +----------+----------+ the same for the back page. in the end cutting the A4 sheet should let the A5 pages and A6 pages undestroyed :-) i have tried combining \setuppaper[nx=2, ny=2, dx=0mm, dy=0mm] \setuparranging[XY] but didn't get a satisfying result because of different page sizes involved ... any ideas? cheers artur ps. here my starting point: \setuppaper[nx=2, ny=2, dx=0mm, dy=0mm] \setuparranging[XY] \showframe[cut=true] \setuppapersize[A5][A4,landscape] \starttext Page 1. Hi guys, I haven't played with ConTeXt for three month because of my examinations. Today, I delete the old version and reinstall a new one from the ConTeXt garden, but it seems that the new one can't run successfully. It says that unknown script 'context.lua' or 'mtx-context.lua. My sources still compile fine with ConTeXt, buyt I'm getting this error with Mark IV. ! You can’t use ‘\end’ in internal vertical mode Can anyone shed some light? Feature Request: ToC page number alternative

Hi, The predefined alternative list setups (e.g., a, b, c...) provide various ways to format the ToC with the page number to the right of the list entry title. An alternative with the page number to the left of the list entry title would be useful. Update overwrites configuration

Hi, 1. Edit .../tex/texmf/web2c/texmfcnf.lua 2. Set TEXMFCACHE = "/var/cache/context/texmf-cache" 3. Run first-setup.sh to update ConTeXt. Expected Results TEXMFCACHE remains "/var/cache/context/texmf-cache" Actual Results TEXMFCACHE reverts to "$SELFAUTOPARENT/texmf-cache" If the values have been changed, then: (a) updates should not overwrite the new values; (b) an option to prevent overwriting new values on upgrade should be available; (c) user should be prompted to overwrite changed configuration values; (d) user should be prompted to accept overwriting each new value; or (e) a backup of the configuration file should be made, followed by a message that the changes have been overwritten and previous values archived.

[Index] Indenting long primaries after secondaries

Additional typeface styles/alternatives with Selectfont

Dear List, I think Selectfont is great -- thank you, Wolfgang, for your work. However, I miss the features to define and use additional typeface styles and alternatives. Not everything fits in the predefined scheme of rm, ss, tt, hw, cg and mm, so it would be nice to have the possibility to define additional typeface styles. (I'm thinking for example about blackletter here.) It would also be nice if one could access arbitrary typeface alternatives, however the typeface creator has named them (e.g. something like semicondensed-ultrabold). At the moment, I think, it is only possible to map a few alternatives to the predefined switches. Kind regards, Joshua

Appendix Page Numbering

I use \definestructureconversionset [frontpart:pagenumber][][romannumerals] to make sure the numbering of my pages in frontmatter use Roman numerals. Not only are the pages numbered with Roman numerals, but the PDF index links and PDF page numbers use this as well. I would like to do something similar for the backmatter, but I would like both the page numbers and the PDF index links and PDF page numbers look like A1, A2, ... (for appendix). Because I'm really starting with ConteXt, and if I compile with location = left or not, the result is the same (with minimal ConteXt). For cons, I understand better the role of the option alternative = left, right or top.

Hi, I find that there is too much space between the text and the beginning of the paragraph. \defineenumeration[ex] [text={\sc\bf Exercice}, location=left, stopper={\bf.}] For example, I use the \topset with LuaLaTeX order. Thank you.

But you can have different logos. \TeXcommand{ConTeXt} lowercase. \TeXcommand{CONTEXT} all caps. \TeXcommand{Context} small caps. \stoptext How should i redefine the headcommand value, so I can get headcommand with colored output? Hi, When external PDF graphics are included in a document (e.g., using externalfigure), the resulting PDF contains a line such as: /PTEX.FileName (/home/username/path/to/file.pdf) What ConTeXt command prevents external file names from being written to the PDF? Accessing current XML node in Lua function

Hi, I'd like to write a Lua function that processes the href attribute from a HTML file and outputs different content depending on the URL. However, I don't know how to convert the XML attribute and the contents of the link tag to a string value for the Lua function. I've tried the following, which does not work but makes my intention clearer: \startxmlsetups xml:a \directlua{getlinkcode("\\xmlatt{#1}{href}", "\\xmlflush{#1}")} \stopxmlsetups It's probably calls to lxml.att and lxml.flush instead of the strings, but how do I convert the "#1" ? Dear All, 'focus=standard' settings for interaction seems to be supported for ToC only... When any hyperlink for footnote or index is clicked, the zoom is set to FitPage: \setupinteraction[state=start,focus=standard] \starttext \startfrontmatter \completecontent \stopfrontmatter \startbodymatter \section{Primary}\index{primary} Dummy text\footnote{footnote}. \stopbodymatter \startbackmatter \completeindex \stopbackmatter \stoptext Just generate the output, zoom the second or third page in and click any hyperlink on that scaled page. It points to the correct location, but the original page zoom is discarded... Is there something else to switch on? Thanks, Jan

(I tried many combinations, but none of them worked.) I cannot get a different italic fallback font if the fallback typeface specified in the third argument has an italic font. What am I doing wrong here? Is it possible to scale only the italic font in a fallback definition and not whole typeface? (In some cases, the feature is extremely handy.) how to set the CropBox in MkIV?

What is the MkIV/LuaTeX way to set the CropBox? In MkII/PDFTeX, I used \pdfpagesattr = {/CropBox [54 72 558 720]} With MkIV, I've tried \pdfcompresslevel 0 \pdfbackendsetpagesattribute{CropBox}{[54 72 558 720]} \starttext \input knuth \stoptext but that set the CropBox as a string, and didn't override the A4 setting: <</Type/Pages /CropBox ([54 72 558 720])/Count 1/Kids[16 0 R]>> I also tried \pdfcompresslevel 0 \startluacode local box = lpdf.array{54, 72, 558, 720} lpdf.addtopagesattributes("CropBox",box) \stopluacode \starttext \input knuth \stoptext and that produced an improved line in the Pages object: <</Type/Pages /CropBox [ 54 72 558 720 ]/Count 1/Kids[16 0 R]>> but the actual cropbox for the page is unchanged (A4), probably because the page object itself (object #16) overrides the CropBox with this: /CropBox [ 0.0000 0.0000 595.2756 841.8898 ] (This is all with the 2014.02.14 beta.)
