Line number in "tex error"

Hi, When running the five lines long file \starttext Bla bla \blank[foo] Bla bla \stoptext through context I get the error below (the foo in the blank is there to get an error, see the attached log file for the full log file). My question is why is context first telling me that the error is on line 8 and not 3? (In this particular example this is not a problem, but I'd like to grep for errors in the log file when running through the editor). textcolor not working with MPinstance

Attributes

Hello, I would like to know what is the recommended way to use attributes in Context. I manage to use use them with numbers, i.e. : in Context : \attribute123=1 in Lua : has_attribute(my_node, 123) But I would like to make that cleaner and use named attributes. What is the Context way to declare and set attributes? Is it something like this? \defineattribute[myattr] \dosetattribute{myattr}{1} And how do I then access them from Lua? Should it look like has_attribute(mynode, attributes.myattr) or has_attribute(mynode, attributes.xxxxx("myattr")) or something else? Goodbye, Stéphane.

\setupmathradical[sqrt] crunches denominator in an \over fraction

I have been trying out the newish \setupmathradical[sqrt][alternative=mp], which has been very nice because of the fine control over the radical sign. I've noticed that it crunches the denominator in \sqrt{a\over b} For example: \starttext \placeformula\startformula \sqrt{k\over m}\quad \sqrt{\displaystyle{k\over m}} \stopformula \setupmathradical[sqrt][alternative=mp] \placeformula\startformula \sqrt{k\over m}\quad \sqrt{\displaystyle{k\over m}} \stopformula \stoptext In the first line, the fractions come out fine. In the second line, the first k\over m has a small, inline-math m in the denominator but a display-math k in the numerator. The second sqrt is fine. Is the problem that my plain-TeX habits, from decades using \over, should be over, and that \frac is the recommended way? (This is with the 2014.03.27 beta.) -Sanjoy

Hello, I'm not able to recall the way how to attach a file into a .pdf being generated. I need the attached files to be "openable" or "savable" from the .pdf - see the image. Orphans/Widows in the Index

Dear All, in my auto-generated two column index (registry) there are several cases of widows - it is the last item of the given letter which overflows to next column/page: --------------- (start page) ------- Usti 29 (!!! - I would expect to place here also one or better two previous entries) V Vamberk 18 ... ... There are also few cases of orphans, but this is not so strange: ... ... Josef 29 K (!!! - both these lines could be moved to the next column/page) Karel 69 ---------------- (end page) --------- In my setup I have defined: \startsetups[grid][mypenalties] \setdefaultpenalties \setpenalties\widowpenalties{2}{10000} % change to {3}{10000} doesn't help \setpenalties\clubpenalties {2}{10000} \stopsetups \setuplayout[grid=yes, setups=mypenalties] It is hard to provide MWE. Broken bibliographies in 2014-03-07 beta

Bibliographies are no longer generated. MWE is the example code at http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Bibliography_mkiv, which no longer generates an output file and shows the following in the blg file: I found no \citation commands---while reading file cite.aux I found no \bibdata command---while reading file cite.aux I found no \bibstyle command---while reading file cite.aux You've used 0 entries,... Linenumbering

I would like the title of the section does not appear as numbered line but continue after the title the above numbering, e.e.: \startlinenumbering \section{First section} no numbered line Numbered line (1) Numbered line (2) \section{Second section} no numbered line Numbered line (3) Numbered line (4) ... \stoplinenumbering Thanks very much?

A couple of setupcaptions questions revisited

On 2011-08-05, Wolfgang wrote with regard to section numbering not appearing in float captions when numbering is off for the section but called for by the chapter (http://www.mail-archive.com/ntg-context%40ntg.nl/msg57811.html) For the moment replace "number=no" with "incrementnumber=no". and later that day (http://www.mail-archive.com/ntg-context%40ntg.nl/msg57814.html) There is a bug but it takes time to find it, unless it is found and fixed use incrementnumber. BTW: A *minimal* example your problem is **this**: \setupformulas[way=bysection,prefixsegments=chapter] %\setuphead[subsection][number=no] \setuphead[subsection][incrementnumber=no] \starttext \chapter{Chapter 1} \chapter{Chapter 2} \section{Section} \subsection{Subsection} \placeformula \startformula a^2+b^2=c^2 \stopformula \stoptext This bug appears to still be with us. Ruby warnings when running texexec

Hi all Whenever I run texexec I encounter a series of warnings from Ruby. The warning seems to interfere with AucTeX 11.87 and prevents it from registering a successful compilation of the document. I am running MacTeX 2013 and ruby 2.0.0p451 (2014-02-24 revision 45167) [universal.x86_64-darwin13] on a 15” MacBook Pro with OS X 10.9.2. Kind regards Jonathan

Unwanted whitespace for tables and enumerations after \inmargin headings

(This appears to be the same issue which was raised by Alexandros Frantzis in October 2008; see the thread at http://www.mail-archive.com/ntg-context%40ntg.nl/msg32125.html. No resolution was proposed at that time, and the problem still exists.) Extra whitespace occurs before itemizations and tabulations (and quite possibly other structures) which appear immediately following an in-margin heading.
