One of my colleague who try to run Lualatex(TeXlive 2013 in the window 7) first time had a similar problem. After removing Korean fonts like penhl.ttf, taenmr.ttf from the system font file directories, she can run Lualatex. Someone registered those files in the blacklist which LuaTeX referred to when it scans fonts, and succeed to make font db. Anyway, it is not the ConTeXt problem. Hi all, I know that there was earlier a thread dealing with this subject…. However I needed to typeset a title in a typeface with a medieval look. One of the choices is “Maximilian” a ttf font (free font). I put the font in texmf-fonts/data. The mtxrun --script font --list --info --all maximilian gives: mtx-fonts | mapping : maximilian mtx-fonts | fontname: maximilian mtx-fonts | fullname: maximilian mtx-fonts | filename: Maximilian.ttf mtx-fonts | family : maximilian mtx-fonts | weight : normal mtx-fonts | style : normal mtx-fonts | width : normal mtx-fonts | variant : normal mtx-fonts | subfont : mtx-fonts | fweight : conflict: book mtx-fonts | mtx-fonts | gsub features: mtx-fonts | mtx-fonts | feature script languages mtx-fonts | mtx-fonts | tlig all all mtx-fonts | trep all all I tried in a classical way: \starttypescript[serif][medieval] \definefontsynonym[serif][file:Maximilian][features=default] \stoptypescript \starttypescript[medieval] \definetypeface[Maximilian][rm][serif][medieval][default] \stoptypescript \usetypescript[medieval] \setupbodyfont[Maximilian,rm,12pt] I tried also the new approach \definefontfamily[Medieval][rm][Maximilian][features=default] \setupbodyfont[Medieval,12pt] In both cases I end up with an empty page, because the font is not fount. — What do I miss? Try “mtxrun unbatang.ttf” in the terminal to see if it locates the unbatang.ttf file. If it doesn’t locate it, then “sudo mtxrun —generate” in the terminal and try “mtxrun unbatang.ttf” once more. If you don’t get any output, you need to create the font db. Because of some Korean fonts in the system font files(Window system), it can not create font db. It is reported in the Q&A in KTUG with the solution. ConTeXt Standalone will not install

Hello ConTeXist. Some time ago I changed a installing TeX Live directly from version 2012 to version 2014. ConTeXt in this version TeX Live works seamlessly, but I have since stopped working update Standalone version. But I'm not entirely sure causation. Anyway, the update does not work as before. At first glance, it seems that the updates are performed correctly, but the files are not probably somehow eventually copied. I am not subsequently able to compile things that require the latest version of ConTeXt. I must say that I am in a one moment delete the entire directory texmf-cache, because I began to discover a strange message about the mischmasch format of ConTeXt. OK. Nothing to do. When I after a vain attempt failed ConTeXt update to the latest version, so I decided to ConTeXt Standalone completely re-install into my Windows 7 home edition. Installation failed, although I followed the instructions exactly to ConTeXtgarden (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/ConTeXt_Standalone) Creates only the TeX directory and there empty directories ("cache-texmf, texmf-fonts, texmf-local texmf and texmf-modules-project"). These directories do not contain any files. I attach below the log file during installation. I tried a second installation method cited in ConTeXt ConTeXtGarden (see http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Simple_Windows_Installation) Link to the installation file is broken (see http://minimals.contextgarden.net/setup/context-installer/ContextMinimalIns…) Can anyone advise what I'm doing wrong and why you can not install ConTeXt? Nowhere does not say anything about setting the path respectively next steps. Blame those problems installing TeX Live 2014? Thanks for the advice. Hi, I tested the following simple code to generate enlarging circles as a test of animation. Problem with last version of ConTeXt

Hello ConTeXist.... Already a long time I use ConTeXt for processing the same files and always worked very well. Yesterday I updated version of ConTeXt Standalone and then I (like many times before) wanted to translate his usual document. Unfortunately, the translation stopped with an error message that I do not understand. Does anyone know what this could mean? The source code of my source file I did not change for a very long time a translation by using ConTeXt from TeXLive 2014 is without problem. Thanks for the advice. Hi, new in next beta %D Sometimes you have a document wide (page) background but need to overload it %D locally. In such case (at least in my experience) the only values that get set %D are the background and backgroundcolor (if set at all). A full inheritance chain %D would complicate things because then we need to use named backgrounds which in %D turn will make this mechanism slower. I considered independent local backgrounds %D but that also complicates the code (not that much) but isolation means that we %D need to set more parameters each time. Hi, I have problems to tune the vertical spacing before and after displaymathformulas in grid typesetting. With the example below, I like the spacing in the second formula but not the first (too big). If I comment out the \setupformulas part, then the first one looks OK, but the second is good. Is there a configure to get both of these to occupy three lines? What is the proper way to delimit paragraphs within an itemized list using \start..\stop tagging (as for epub and such)? When I wrap paragraphs with \startparagraph..\stopparagraph within the \startitem..\stopitem, there is an unwanted newline inserted between the bullet and the item text. Or, is it not recommend to wrap paragraphs that are in enumerations? Hi, I have a collection of PDF files of varying sizes and aspect ratios. The "overflow: hidden" would then clip the overflow to the frame. Different PDF's could have different scalings applied to make this work, which is fine for this application. I understand this may not be an idiomatic use of ConTeXt--any advice or suggestions for alternate approaches much appreciated. Stu
