Hi all! I am working on an older project… Herein a resource-library is used. Now I have the problem, that Context does not find page 103 (resulting in a fatal error: LuaTeX error: PDF inclusion: required page <103> does not exist ==> Fatal error occurred, no output PDF file produced!). When I put the the figure contained on page 103 as an \externalfigure[mylibrary][page=103], the figure is displayed. — Now I tried to remake the resource library with changing the format from MKII to MKIV. However there seems to be a problem, since I get only two pages of output. Even with the enclosed minimal I get only two empty pages… What to do? Thank you for advice! Kind regards Willi

SyncTeX and mkiv

Hi all, Using TeXShop on a Mac (with Mac OS X 10.2) I noticed that some of my documents typeset with mkiv do not respond correctly regarding SyncTeX: when I do « Command-Click » on a specific part of the resulting PDF there is no reaction at all, that is I do not get to the corresponding part of the source TeX file. Nevertheless when I click in the source TeX file, SyncTeX shows the corresponding highlighted part of the PDF file. So my question is the following: is there some change in mkiv, or in the way TeXShop has to be tuned? The command I use to typeset is: context --synctex=1 --autogenerate "$1" —purgeall and the version of ConTeXt I have is ConTeXt ver: 2015.03.30 23:33 MKIV beta fmt: 2015.3.31 Thanks in advance for any help. Having difficulty getting unicode characters to display in ConTeXT out put PDF

I am having difficulty getting Unicode characters to display correctly in PDF output using ConTeXT. Also, the PDF Bookmarks are not showing in this example. adjust text width mkiv

I am still matching my file with a previous InDesign layout. On one particular page I want to narrow the text width a bit to cause the bottom line to fill the full text width. I have tried adjusting \hsize within braces, and changing setlayout. I am considering putting all the text in a framedtext but with the frame suppressed. Is this possible with mkiv? formal multipage table

Hello: I would like to place a landscape formal multi-page table in a document. I try to attach a pdf showing what I would like to achieve. The example file was made in latex using array, booktabs, lscape, and longtable packages. I read the contextgarden wiki pages on different table packages but according to that information none of the available table modules can be used to make such table. Is the information up-to-date and accurate? Furthermore, how can I insert the table in landscape mode on a portrait page (page numbers should be portrait). I need different headers for the first and the following pages, different footers for the last and the previous pages, rules width different depths for start/end and middle rules. I experimented with both Tables and TABLE modules but before I go into it more I would like to know if it is feasible at all what I want. text alignment in table

The same problem occurs in the string "Luncheon sales." The glyph "~" doesn't help. I also tried the table variation in chapter twenty-two of "The TeXbook". That doesn't work in MKIV. My last resort is to introduce a one page pdf from the InDesign-created pdf. Folks, Here is problem that must have been asked about before, but I can’t seem to find a solution on the archive or anywhere else. I want a colour background for verbatim text (for code), and floating figures. However if a figure floats to the bottom (as in the example below), and the verbatim text is broken over to the next page because it is long, I don’t want the colour background under the figure as well — I want no background at all. What is the correct setup to do that? RAL colours

Of and on, I have struggled to find a colour space that is expressive enough for printing, but convenient to access through ConTeXt for day-to-day usage. I find with X11 that the emphasis on screen skews the colours to be brighter than what is desired, especially if one is dealing with coloured stock---say beige kraft---as I am doing with my current bit of typesetting. In this process I have come across the RAL colour space: http://www.ral-farben.de/content/application-help/all-ral-colours-names/ove… whose values can be conveniently (sort of) accessed at: http://rgb.to/ral/page/1 For my immediate needs, I have simply created a set of: \definecolor[<colourName>][h=HHHHHH] However, I am wondering if it might make sense to have a colo-imp-ral.mkiv? So my questions would be: 1. Is the RAL colour space a decent one for printing purposes? What would be disadvantages, if not? 2. Does colo-imp-ral.mkiv exist already? 3. If not, would others find it useful to have a colo-imp-ral.mkiv? If it doesn't then I would be happy to prepare one and submit it. Hi, Is it possible to set 'presets' for the framed settings of \setlayerframed? Unexpected results...

Good afternoon, I downloaded the latest beta: current version: 2015.04.01 12:00 What i detect is not related to the latest version, but I think it is good to test with it… 1. When using the command \starthead..\stophead in an itemize with head style set to bold, not only the head gets bold but the whole item. On the other hand if using \head then it works ok. 2. I use a lot \Milli\Meter. When loading the module with \usemodule[units] it works fine. But in the log there is a message that this is an obsolete module. - This is unfortunately not true, because when not loading the module the compilation stops with an error of an undefined control sequence. Wiki / sample

Hello, the "Sample 2" on http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Command/definedescription compiles well on my computer (one of the latest Ctx version) but not on wiki. (It happens to me time to time when I want to add a sample, mostly a snip from the mailing list.) IMHO, there is still a Ctx version mismatch between "latest Ctx Beta" (or another "stable Ctx version") and that on wiki. It would be nice: - to know which Ctx version compiles wiki samples (Ctx, Lua & MP "stamp" - automatically generated on each Ctx renewal - would be useful to appear (on the initial?) wiki page), - I guess wiki Ctx should renew more often (to prevent difference between the latest Ctx and that on wiki enlarges). slightly offtopic: disabling autoresizing of adobe reader window when opening pdf document

Hello: This is kind of offtopic, still I post it here since it only occurs when I open some context manuals. I use Adobe Reader (acroread) 9.5.5 linux version. Frequently, when I open a context related document, eg NaturalTables.pdf downloaded from contextgarden (http://dl.contextgarden.net/myway/NaturalTables.pdf) the document triggers resizing of adobe reader main window. This is very annoying, especially if I have several other documents open in separate tabs; all these tabs are resized as well and I have to adjust back the window size manually. I tried different settings in preferences but couldn't find a way to disable this behavior. How could I block autoresizing? I also googled but could not find any answer to this (though others have the same problem as well, eg https://forums.adobe.com/thread/793230) I write here since for me only context documents triggers this, so I guess context users know about this more. Hello, I have a problem with paragraph footnotes. I don't know how to prevent a line break occurring between the footnote number and the footnote text. Sometimes a thing like this happens: ... [main text] ... -------------- 1. text of the first footnote --- 2. text of the second one --- 3. text of the third one Is there a way to force ConTeXt to keep the "3." with "text of the third one"? [***SPAM***] small space before some characters (: ; ! ?)

Hello: Hungarian typography requires inserting small spaces before :, ;, ! and ? characters. The width of this small space should be equal to that of the period (.). In latex magyarlatex (magyar.ldf) module (part of biblatex) contains definitions to achieve this. How could I set this in context? Thanks in advance, bcsikos

lua code prevents compilation

I need the lua code to have underscore hyphenation in type commands. And I need two extra \definehyphenationfeatures and \sethyphenationfeatures to invoke it. Have I hit a bug or what am I missing?
