Dear list, I have just discovered another issue with latest beta from 2015.04.14 19:03: \setupreferencestructureprefix[default][prefixsegments=2:4] \setuphead[section][sectionsegments=section] \starttext \in[mysection] \chapter[mychapter]{My Chapter} \section[mysection]{My Section} \stoptext Reference should be 1.1 and not only 1. New command: \showreferences

Hi all, Many thanks to Hans who cooked up in a very short notice a new command named \showreferences which does what its names suggests: it shows the points at which a cross reference is invoked. This command works in interactive documents. There is a Wiki page about how to use it, and also about other features associated with this command. output file size with repeated image

The Manual lists this command in the index of commands but it seems not to exist on the page referenced (88). (hindi) font questions

Hi, I'd like to type set a single hindi/devanagari word in a chapter heading (using standalone MkVI), where I need your help for some questions/problems: - which (free) font do you suggest ? right now I'm using "Lohit-Devanagari". text font is 11pt Palatino, Lohit doesn't match too good, and a bold version would be nice for the chapter head. - font size: how do I define this font to get automatic/matching font sizes for both the chapter head and the title of contents ? right now I use \definefont [hindib] [Lohit-Devanagari at 24pt] ... \mychapter{Danke -- {\hindib धन्यवाद}} which gives a reaosonable font size for the chapter title, but of course that's way too large for the TOC:-( what's the right way to define a "scalable" single font (or two, if you have a suggestion for a normal+bold devanagari font) in ConTeXt ? thanks, Harald -- "I hope to die ___ _____ before I *have* to use Microsoft Word.", 0--,| /OOOOOOO\ Donald E. Character spacing and url

With versions from 20150325 and earlier, the following example code produced nicely wrapped URLs. With current betas, the URLs do not wrap. Hans, the minimal sample doesn’t compile with latest beta from 2015.04.08 21:31: \sethyphenatedurlafter{./-_} \define[1]\url{{\tt\goto{\hyphenatedurl{#1}}[url(#1)]}} \starttext \url{http://contextgarden.net} \stoptext It compiles fine with beta from 2015.03.25 22:13. Writing between lines

Hi all, How can one write in small print something between lines, in an efficient manner? But the use of \atop which a macro for mathmode, together with \mbos, doesn’t seem a wise idea. has any one a better idea how to obtain the same result? Evaluating a Lua expression at the end

Hi. I am trying to set up a system where I can use Lua to find a total that I can display at the end. For example, if I set a question paper, after each question, I do a \directlua{total = total + 4}, assuming this question has 4 points. At the top of my document, I now want to say "Total points:" and display the value of total. Now, naturally, using \directlua gives me 0, since total is 0 at the beginning. But \latelua didn't seem to be what I am looking for. Could someone please guide me in the right direction? Thanks. Kumar

test for new page

Can someone indicate how one can easily test for a new page in a list environment (or, indeed, anywhere else)? In one implementation of a listing, repeated sequential items or elements of items are suppressed, but I would like to repeat them when they occur at the top of a new page. I imagine that there could be an easy test for a new page or the text line number. Thanks, in advance, for any hints. Alan

\version[temporary] in mkiv

Hi Hans, In mkii, we used to have the command \version[temporary] in the document, so that the labels for cross references would be printed in the margin, which is extremely useful when proof reading. In mkiv the command exists, but does not that: it prints only in small print the name of the file or the project information in the footer, and some black rules where the hyphenation of words has not been done. Is there any command which does what is needed for having informations about cross-referencing? In LaTeX for example, there is a package which puts the name of each labelled reference in the margin, and when one uses a certain cross reference it puts the name which is used in small print on top of the line where it is invoked. If you want I can send you an example of output where this is shown. If in mkiv there is a possibility to modify an existing feature, could you please give an indication where I have to look? I’m using mkiv and the command start chapter, in the first argument specifying the author param. I’ve explored the wiki (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Table_of_Contents) but I don’t get it. Placing a page without a blank page after.

I have tried various things like \start/stop/standardmakeup, \start/stop/TEXpage and so on. I am trying to place a full sized page including bleeds without a blank page following. Sometimes It works but mostly it gives me a blank page following. Request: Numbercommand key for \setupcaption

Hi Hans, can you add a number command key to \setupcaption because when you use a language which uses left and right labels for the number the numberstopper key can’t be used anymore to put a symbol after the float counter without misusing the label texts. Dear gang, In the attached files, watch the behavior of the second footnote: The footnote numeral and accompanying note are out of alignment. Toggle this line: \setupnotation[footnote] [before={\setupwhitespace[none]},indenting={yes,big},after={\blank[small]}] On, we get a misalignment. Off, no misalignment. Is this a bug or am I missing something? tagging heads and empty output

Dear gang, Two issues: 1. What is the proper way to tag heads in itemize? Is there a special tagging command for the heads? 2. customizing citations: superscript and move

Hello context users: I would like to insert superscript numbered citations in my document. Based on the wiki page info I modified \setupcite in the style file bibl-num.tex to: \setupcite [num] [\c!andtext={,}, \c!otherstext={,}, \c!pubsep={,}, \c!lastpubsep={,}, \c!compress=\v!yes, \c!inbetween={--}, \c!left={}\raisebox{1ex}\hbox\bgroup\tfxx, \c!right={\egroup}] This results in superscript citations. See the attached example file context-cite-example.pdf. In addition to this I would like to achieve the followings: -- Omitted space between the word and the reference number -- The exchange of the punctuation and the reference number What I'd like to achieve is presented in the exampe file context-cite-wanted-example.pdf (but the numbers even closer to the words, partially above the punctuation marks). (The example file was made in latex/bibtex using natbib and natmove packages.) I guess it's doable by modifying the style file but how? Thanks in advance, bcsikos

\starttyping font changes when option=color

Folks, Switching the option to “color” in \setuptyping has the effect of resetting the font from typewriter (constant width) to paragraph font (if you uncomment it in the following MWE). I don’t see why that should be. Is it a bug or can someone explain? My intent was to use syntax colourisation for code snippets. caption setup

Hello: I have to setup caption formatting for Hungarian. In Hungarian I have to write "#. figure." instead of "Figure #:" The exact word for "figure" is "ábra", so what I want exactly is: "# ábra.", eg "1. ábra". How can I do it? (If I set the document language to Hungarian, the word "ábra" is shown correctly but the order is not correct; I get ,. ábra:#.) Another question: for caption text I want it to be justified and the last line of the caption centered. How can I do that? Thanks, bcsikos

Turning off French character spacing

Dear everyone, I am writting a French document. I would like to turn off the French character spacing temporarily in order to typeset English document title or URL. For instance, I would like to define the commands \def\englishtitle#1{\turnofffrenchcharacterspacing{\em #1}\turnonfrenchcharacterspacing} \def\url#1{\turnofffrenchcharacterspacing{\em #1}\turnonfrenchcharacterspacing} so that a title link “Example: English Title” will be italicised and will not have a space before “:”; and a URL like “http://www.example.com” neither.
