Problem with \framed align and orientation on landscape pages

For the /\framed/ command, any value for the key /align /other than a null value pushes the frame beyond the bottom margin on a landscape page for many values of /orientation/. The following MWE demonstrates this: \setuppapersize [A4,landscape] \starttext \framed[orientation=90,align=no]{\externalfigure[dummy]} \stoptext It also seems that the default value of /align/// is not /no/ as the wiki suggests, since there is a very different result when no align key is provided and when it is provided as above with /no/, if by a default value one means that, when a given key is not explicitly provided, processing will occur as if it had been provided with that particular value. -- Rik Kabel

I believe, it is possible to use in Conext the otf-fonts I have in my computer. I generated the database, the quert shows me, that the font is there, but I can not get it in my file. And when I read the chapter in the Manual or whatever I can find, I read a lot about Typescripts and unterstand absolutely nothing. I find how to make a typescript for palatino, which makes no difference, but I don’t unterstand why I shall make a typescript and how. Is there a text which tells step by step what I have to so and why? Now the situation is: I have a lot of Fonts and can use just four. That was much easier with LaTeX...

However, I put “sgn=1” so that the function “uppertri” works independently. I checked the function “uppertri” and found that it worked fine. Dear Hans, Thank you for checking and enhancing. I also got an error at “uppertri” as you point out. The version that I have sent is one in my notebook which may be different from that in the desktop at school. When I made a class material, it worked fine. I have to check it and send it to you again. I appreciate you for making it more usable for ConTeXt users. I also found that there is a matrix module for lua programming. It is nice for the calculation of matrix, but I have a difficulty to typeset the result. That’s why I try to write a code even though I am not good in Lua programming. If it is easy to take over the result into TeX, using the lua module is much efficient and correct, I think. Anyway, I hope that it helps to typeset matrices. I have installed the standalone and it works well on my Xubuntu system. I tried to run texi2pdf, which not a part of the standalone system, but fails due to: "...don't have any working TeX binary installed.." If the standalone has one I will add its path to my PATH and the texi2pdf should work. I'm trying to avoid installing a full TeXLive distribution on this old limited memory machine. Any advice would help. Thenks

LuaTeX/ConTeXt connect to SQL Server

FROM MY POSTING AT: http://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/180018/luatex-context-connect-to-sql… I am looking to connect ConTeXt to a SQL Server database. I have looked through the manuals, and even read pragma-ade's SQL PDF (which, for me, seems a bit abstract). I am not extremely familiar with Lua but have read up on the language (I am more familiar with JS). For LaTex I used nlatexdb which did the trick, but LaTex isn't able to do what ConTeXt can. - The connection needs to use Windows Authentication. - The document is set up as a letter with an environment that it pulls from. - It would be preferable to have the connection and queries be seperate from the letter itself, and be able to place variables into the letter that can be populated through the queries (much like nlatexdb) if possible. - example: Dear ??first ??last, Thank you for your interest in ??product... etc. I am rather new to ConText and just starting to get the hang of it, long time latex user, the transition starts off rather confusing, but once it makes sense it opens up a whole toolbox of available tools which is great. Just need this one last tool. Any help would be much appreciated. EDIT:: Honestly I haven't gotten to any point that I felt I could attempt trying the connection. Dear Luigi and listers, Last year, I need to write a text for a linear algebra class. Since there are many \startmatrix … \stopmatrix and matrix calculations, I wrote a lua code which did matrix calculations and writing with a lot of help from this list. Using the code, I can write class materials easily. It is good enough for my purpose. I am not good in Lua coding, so there may be many things to be checked for efficiency and for stability. However, I attached the code because there may be someone who need it. It is also good thing to return what I get from the list back. I hope that you enhance the code for better performance since you are an expert in Lua. I always thank to this list and to developers of ConTeXt. Bold small caps

Hi, I always forget how to use bold or italic small caps (I keep mixing addff/setff and smcp/+smcp/smallcaps etc.). In ideal world it could be nice if simply {\sc Normal and \bf Bold Small Caps} or {\bf\sc Bold Small Caps} would work out-of-the-box. The first hit on the wiki was http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Bold_small_caps which contained just the MKII example. I added a MKIV example {\setff{smallcaps} Normal and \bf bold Small Caps.} but the problem is that this example only works with <put any font name here> except for the default Latin Modern setup. Would it make sense to fix this for the default LM setup as well? Mojca

\setuplist ignores width=<dim> in combination with headnumber=no

Hi, I would like to remove header numbers for subsections, but keep subsections properly aligned in the table of contents. However, the width= parameter seems to be completely ignored in that case. Here's a nearly-minimal example: \setuplist[section][width=10mm,style=bold] \setuplist[subsection][width=15mm,headnumber=no] \setuplist[subsubsection][width=20mm,style=slanted,pagestyle=normal] \starttext \completecontent \page[yes] \section{First section} \subsection{First subsection} \subsubsection{First subsubsection} \subsubsubsection{First subsubsubsection} \section{Second section} \subsection{Second subsection} \subsubsection{Second subsubsection} \subsubsubsection{Second subsubsubsection} \stoptext The example has been adapted from http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Table_of_Contents. The image on the wiki seems ok, but I get a different result if I try to run the same example with the latest version of ConTeXt (mkiv). Somewhat related: say that I wanted to setup \setuplist[<name>][width=10mm] for all the sections and sub(subsub)sections. The documentation seems to suggest that \placecontent[aligntitle=yes/no,width=10mm] should do that (it's not clear to me whether that's yes or no that should do it), but it doesn't seem to have any effect at all. Italic small capitals with Latin Modern font

How can I use Latin Modern italic small capitals? I have seen on a previous thread that small caps are separated in an other file for Latin Modern font and that one should load it to use them in italic, but there was no example given to achieve that. Minimal example: \starttext \it \sc \input knuth \stoptext

It has some bug against footnotes. I attach an example. Sorry, it's not a minimal example, but I can't reproduce it with minimal. I think the important think is the page break because the table two does not fit in the page. I get one empty page here. I attach the .tex and the pdf. Thanks in advance, Xan.

No, it probably won't work. You really need LaTeX to run texinfo. > I'm trying to avoid installing a full TeXLive distribution on this old limited memory machine. You don't have to install full TeX Live. Just install the basic scheme (plain TeX) + "latexrecommended" collection. On one of my machines that fits into 110 MB, but you could probably be even more picky and install even less packages (or remove them later after installation). Just start with tlpretest 2014, else your installation will become obsolete before you know. Mojca

Thank you Wolfgang, your hack is perfect. Hans, what do you think about adding a style and color key in \setupreferencestructureprefix to avoid having to use this defineprocessor hack? And by the way, the name \setupreferencestructureprefix does not sound really natural to me because we are talking about a reference NUMBER and there is not always a prefix. What about changing it to something like \setupreference or \setupreferencenumber (like \setuppagenumber)?

I have found how to get the conversion of numbers in references (the 'prefixconversion' key in '\setupreferencestructureprefix' command), but I still do not know how to change their style. I have tried the 'style' key and 'prefixstyle' key but without success. After checking in ConTeXt source, I have realised that there is no such 'style' key for the '\setupreferencestructureprefix' command. Is there another command to change the style? If not, it would be great if Hans could add that feature. Minimal example: \setupreferencestructureprefix[section][default][% prefixconversion=Romannumerals, prefixstyle=\bf] \starttext \input knuth (Cf. \in{section}[mysection].) \section[mysection]{My section} \stoptext

pdf X/1-a:2001 format for print output.

The above format is required for pdf files containing color for many American printers. I am looking for the minimal case. In the wiki there is an example: \setupbackend [format=PDF/X-1a:2001, intent=SWOP2006_Coated3v2.icc] Is this sufficient? ConTeXt mkiv and rsfs fonts

Hi all, It seems that the rsfs fonts (Ralph Smith’s Formal Script fonts) do not work: the procedure explained at the page http://wiki.contextgarden.net/rsfs works fine with mkii, but not in mkiv. Is it possible to use the capabilities of simplefonts, which are now included in mkiv, to use this script font in place of the usual \cal when using LM fonts (or even Palatino)? I don’t unterstand \startfrontmatter, \starbodymatter etc. I thought, the frontmatter has roman numerals, the bodymatter normal and so on. This is not automatically so. Now founf how to make this, bus the problem is: I can’t reset the page number. I believed, it shoul work like this: \startfrontmatter \setupuserpagenumber[numberconversion=Romannumerals] % some stuff \stopfrontmatter \startbodymatter \setupuserpagenumber[numberconversion=numbers] \setnumber[page]{1} %some stuff \stopbodymatter This doesn’t work, may be because \setnumber is not a command in ConTeXt? MathML in ConTeXt conforming to MathML3?

Does the MathML in ConText conforms to the MathML3 specification? (see http://www.w3.org/TR/MathML3/chapter5.html) I find that with \usemodule[mathml] (1) <semantics><annotation encoding="application/x-tex">TeX-code</annotation></semantics> does not typesets, but (2) <semantics><annotation encoding="tex">TeX-code</annotation></semantics> does. As I understand from the specification, (1) should have been correct, but does not processes the TeX and the attribute "application/x-tex" seems not to be recognized. Does ConTeXt-MathML deviates in this respect from the current standard? Or do I miss some important fact? Hans van der Meer

stretching/expanding Greek characters

I am trying to typeset some compendia found in a medieval Greek manuscript and would like to stretch or expand several characters in my font. So far, I have mostly found information about stretching the inter-word spacing (tracking). I just try to figure out how Kontext works, and so it would ne fine to have some texte every time available. (I can put some text from everywhere, but the blindtext package is much more comfortable.) I’m new to ConText and so my question may be a stupid one. But I hope somebody can help me: How can I activate »old style numbers« (Medievalziffern). I thought, it should work like this: \setupbodyfont[palatino, 10pt] \definefontfeature [default] [default] [onum=yes] But this doesn’t work. What do I have to do? Many thanks for your help!

I just installed the "standalone" context and tried to typeset a document which uses "simplefonts" but the resolver indicates that simplefonts is not found. This isn't surprising, but I need to learn how to install simplefonts to use with the standalone. Use adding " --modules all" as an option to first-setup.sh do this? Any advice is appreciated.

larger dot for \dot ?

My students complain that the dot in, for example, $\dot M$ is too small and that they easily miss it. So I have been trying to make a bigger one, but haven't found a solution that plays nicely with the surrounding math. For example, \def\mydot{\overset{\externalfigure[dot.pdf]}} %bigger than usual one \def\Vdot{\mydot V} \starttext $\rho\Vdot\omega$ % loose spacing $\rho V\omega$ % tighter spacing \stoptext where dot.pdf is a circle of radius 0.8bp (attached). But the \Vdot gets wrapped in an hbox (inside \overset), so the surrounding space is too large. I also tried a metafun approach \startuniqueMPgraphic{math:mydot} fill unitcircle scaled 2 shifted (OverlayWidth/2-1,OverlayHeight+OverlayOffset); path q; q:= unitsquare xscaled OverlayWidth yscaled (OverlayHeight+OverlayOffset+1); setbounds currentpicture to q; \stopuniqueMPgraphic \definemathornament [mathmydot] [mp=math:mydot] \starttext $\rho\mathmydot{V}\omega$ $\rho V\omega$ $\rho\mathmydot{V}_0^2\omega$ $\rho\dot{V}_0^2\omega$ \stoptext The $\rho\mathmydot{V}\omega$ looks good. But the subscripted _0 is not tucked under the V, because the bounds of the character are now a rectangle that doesn't know about its shape. Entering text into layers

Colleagues I have been designing a simple document which comprises of 4 areas (3 for text, 1 for images) on an A4 page. I thought that the best way to do this would be using Layers and so far I come up with the code below after scanning the wiki. As you can see it is not very sophisticated, but I'm not a regular user of Context. The question I have is what would be the best way to add text to the various layers? Some would have quite a lot of text and I was wondering if would be better to define the text for the different layers in some way rather than enter into the braces of \setlayerframed. The code would look messy this way. Finally, can layers be positioned within layers or would it be better to use overlays? I'm thinking about adding three columns to the Footer layer. Using the margin for two purposes

Dear All, I would like to use the margin for two different purposes: For brief notes, using \inmargin, and to mark entire paragraphs sections of the text with vertical lines. So, I’d like to be able to something like this \starttext \startsquigglyline \inmargin{read \\ this \\ first} \input{knuth} \stopsquigglyline \startthinline \inmargin{read \\ this \\ next} \input{tufte} \stopthinline \stoptext I know I could use frames to accomplish the vertical features within in the text area, but I’d prefer to use the margin so that framing paragraphs doesn’t indent the paragraphs compared to the unframed portions. But I also want to have the \inmargin notes to be lined up properly. So it looks like I would need to divide the margin into two horizontally separate regions. On left pages, the left region would be used for the \inmargin notes, and the (very thin) right region would be used for the vertical features (squigglyline and thinline). For right pages the other way around. Of course I’d also like the vertical features to extend across pages, if needed. The short example below typeset with \usemodule[mathml] \starttext \typebuffer \blank \processxmlbuffer \stoptext and "ConTeXt ver: 2014.04.04 00:08 MKIV beta" shows that the <mtext> element does not honour the tags within. Willi, following the advice from Hans, I’m asking whether you would be interested in extending \setuparranging. As already explained in previous messages, I think it would be useful to have \setuparranging[2*4*2] for any given number of pages. Having 16 pages to impose isn’t always an option. I read page-imp.mkiv again and I have no idea about how to achieve this. (I found three typos that I attach to this message.) scientific notation in PDF file

Dear Developers and All, when I create a PDF dictionary with a small number local mydict = lpdf.dictionary { TT = 0.000000000000000001 } lpdf.flushobject(mydict) I get in PDF << /TT 1e-18 >> that confuses the Adobe Reader (if dictionary is used). As far as I can investigate, lpdf.flushobject(mydict) calls pdf.immediateobj(tostring(mydict)) and tostring does the actual damage by introducing scientific notation. What is the correct way to deal with the problem? Converting the dictionary to string with my own code looks like a possible workaround, not a solution. Michail PS. numerator is too high in \frac{3}{4}, in palatino

I've noticed the following issue with how high the numerator is placed, but only when using Palatino: \setupbodyfont[palatino] \starttext \startformula {3\over4}\quad {1\over2} \stopformula \stoptext The 3 and the 1 sit quite high above the division line, esp. in comparison with the gap below the line (above the 4 and the 2). The place okay without the \setupbodyfont[palatino], so maybe it is something incorrect in the font parameters? The fonts are (from 'pdffonts'): EUEJAR+TeXGyrePagella-Regular CID Type 0C Identity-H yes yes yes 18 0 UPBTGS+TeXGyrePagellaMath-Regular CID Type 0C Identity-H yes yes yes 19 0 And it is compiled with 2014.03.27 20:04 MKIV. With LaTeX, it seems, this is default, plus one can use macros like `\mathrm` or `\textrm` for other text. An `\hbox{}` too, in plain TeX, but not around `\sin`, for example. With ConTeXt's LuaTeX-Plain format (may ConTeXt itself as well), these functions are in italics. Is it possible to control this via the redefinition of the math fonts? Hi, The ConText Garden wiki has numerous short example sprinkled throughout its pages. I presume that they are hard-coded in the page. if the example breaks (due to a ConTeXt bug or backwards-incompatible enhancement), I imagine there is no notification. What do you think about creating a repository of examples that are included by embedding a website address instead of direct text? For example: 1. User visits wiki. 2. User edits a page (e.g., Command/setuphead). 3. User names and uploads a .tex document. 4. System generates unique hyperlink for .tex document. 5. System generates and includes embed code into wiki page, such as: <context href="http://wiki.contextgarden.net/context/examples/file.tex" /> <context href="/context/examples/file.tex" /> Also, source="yes" and mode="mkiv" should be the default. Then, if the person editing the page wants to include the output, the full example might resemble: <context href="/context/examples/file.tex"> This produces: <context output="yes" href="/context/examples/file.tex"> Having the complete examples separated allows the snippets to be tested automatically. Broken .tex examples (unless explicitly flagged) would result in notifications being sent to the page maintainer(s). A broken example could be flagged as: <context notify="no" href="/context/examples/file.tex"> Another advantage is that all the examples could be downloaded and possibly referenced in other media. Hi all, Never felt so incompetent in my life -- just cannot get LuaTeX to find fonts or `*.tex` files for use with `\input <filename>`, or `font\xxx = <font-or-filename>`. Even though, these commands were executed (all I could find): mktexlsr mtxrun --script base --generate luatools --generate context --generate mtxrun --script fonts --update --force mtxrun --script fonts --udpate --simple Tried putting files in (in the roots and subdirectories): ~/texmf ~/ctx/tex/texmf-project ~/ctx/tex/texmf-local ~/ctx/tex/texmf-fonts Checked if the file could be found: luatools --find-file xxxx.tex <--- finds it luatools --find-file xxx.otf <--- finds it mtxrun --locate xxxx.tex <--- finds it mtxrun --locate xxx.otf <--- finds it kpsewhich/where <--- finds only if in `~/texmf` In .tex file (even when files are in `~/texmf` dir): \input xxxx or xxxx.tex <--- no luck \font\myfont = name:xxxx <--- no luck \font\myfont = file:xxxx.otf <--- no luck Sorry, but reading and searching for hours did not bring any solu- tion. basic question on imposition

Dear list, I’m trying to build a booklet from an existing PDF document, my code is the following (copied from the wiki long time ago): \setuppapersize [A5][A4,landscape] \setuparranging [2UP,doublesided] \setuplayout [backspace=0pt, topspace=0pt, width=middle, height=middle, location=middle, header=0pt, footer=0pt, grid=no, marking=off] \starttext \insertpages[document.pdf][width=0pt] \stoptext It works perfectly, but I would like to achieve the same effect, only imposing 4 pages on each side of the paper (8 pages per sheet). Replacing the first two lines with: \setuppapersize [A6][A4] \setuparranging [2*4] rearranges all pages, but not the way I want. With the previous option, I have to cut the paper in four. I would like to avoid this. I would like to cut the A4 in two landscape A5 to be folded (not cut) in two A6 pages. Which is the way to get this imposition? Access to fonts in /usr/share/fonts/X11/

ConTeXt is working fine,and I am pretty sure that OSFONTDIR is set correctly I have recently run mtxrun --script fonts --reload and context --generate I am able to see/use fonts in the /usr/share/fonts/opentype and /usr/share/fonts/truetype I can see/use *some* of the fonts in the /usr/share/fonts/X11/ directory: mtxrun --script fonts --list --all --pattern=Symbol* symbol symbol /usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1/Symbol.afm symbolbold symbol /usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1/Symbol.afm ls -l /usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1/Symbol.* /usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1/Symbol.afm -> ../../type1/mathml/Symbol.afm /usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1/Symbol.pfb -> ../../type1/mathml/Symbol.pfb But I can't see with mtxrun (or use in documents) *many* of the fonts in this directory: mtxrun --script fonts --list --all --pattern=Dorian* <no output> ls -l /usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1/Dorian* /usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1/DorianCLM-Book.afm /usr/share/fonts/X11/Type1/DorianCLM-Book.pfa I note that the fonts that I can use appear to be symbolic links to a different directory. Hi Aditya, recently I changed my linux distribution to arch and so I used your arch suggestion to install ConTeXt. Instead of "reporting any bugs at the ConTeXt mailing list" according to the last sentence it's in my own interest to thank you for your work there! All went well, though one little rather unimportant thing irritated me initially: "makepkg" which should generate "context-minimals-<date>.pkg.tar.gz" with the date of today, as I assume, generated "context-minimals-git-20130615-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.gz" instead, with a one year old date. But the eventually generated ConTeXt is totally new: ConTeXt ver: 2014.05.13 00:04 MKIV beta fmt: 2014.5.13 So, it's not a real bug, only irritating a little bit. I thank you again! Rudolf

Hi Hans, the fontloader appears to have trouble applying fake ligatures (“--” -> “\endash” and the likes) in conjunction with small capitals. Both features work well in isolation. The behavior is limited to Libertine (I tested all versions back to 5.0.0). external figure not functioning propertly for jpg

externalfigure only works properly with pdf files (I tried with .gif and .jpg files). The jpg file with the frame=on showed a one page blank huge frame and no image. Used: the MKIV engine / ConTeXt Process Management 0.60 I should think that "external figure should work with jpg for sure. Minimal example using a jpeg file having a 65 x 72 pixels image -------------------------------- \starttext \externalfigure[dainienzan-logo.pdf] % This works no problem \externalfigure[dainienzan-logo.jpg][frame=on] % Big empty frame and no image \externalfigure[dainienzan-logo.jpg][width=2cm] % Specifhing a width makes it work \stoptext % but it should work without width=x -------------------------------- Note: this works as is with a pdf image. workaround for another too-low symbol in Pagella?

Here's another math symbol that I think is too low: the vertical bar in Palatino/Pagella. Here's an almost-minimal example. I've left in the surrounding text, to show how it's used (in probability, as P(H|E)). I think the bottom of the bar is correct, but the tip of the bar doesn't reach to the top of the H or E. \setupbodyfont[palatino] \starttext \placeformula\startformula \text{P}( H\,|\, E ) \stopformula \stoptext Again, I don't think it's a ConTeXt problem, but rather a Pagella problem. But is there a recommended ConTeXt workaround? Maybe a metafun symbol? -Sanjoy

We are glad to announce the registration for the 8th International Context Meeting is now open. http://meeting.contextgarden.net/2014 Early-bird registration is available until June 30, 2014, and this year for the first time, we also have a special discount for first-time attendees. We are making a return visit to Jan @ 't Sjetootje, the same place where we had our fifth meeting in 2011. To celebrate our return visit, the theme for this year's meeting is: ConTeXt Cookery which means that we are planning for talks and tutorials on both culinary and programming recipes and / or cookbooks. Text background that spans the width of the page

Hi all, I would like to have a colored horizontal stripe as background for one line of text. Sort of like what textbackground does, but I want it to span the whole \paperwidth, instead of just \textwidth. At the end of the day, I would use it to style for example my section heads, or to highlight one specific \item. What’s the best way to do it? -- Fear is the path to the dark side. Vertical alignment of \placefigure[right]

Hi, I would like to vertically shift the placement of figures (\placefigure[right]...), so that the upper side of the figure would be aligned with the top of the first line in a paragraph as opposed to the bottom of the first paragraph. Here's a minimal example. The second "ugly workaround" shows what I'm trying to achieve, but ideally using a cleaner approach. \pm set too low in MkIV?

Continuing my recent theme of finding glyphs too low or too high: The \pm symbol looks like it is set too low, in MkIV. \setuppagenumbering[location=] \starttext $\pm2$ \stoptext The minus part of the sign lies below the baseline, which looks odd relative to the horizontal stroke of the "2." In MkII it is fine, as is the equivalent latex or plain tex (using LatinModern). I don't know whether the problem lis in the font metrics or in the positioning by MkIV, because I haven't yet been able to convince tex, latex, lualatex, or luatex to use the same font (LM math). In MkIV, the font is (from pdffonts): NSOXNN+LatinModernMath-Regular CID Type 0C Identity-H Can anyone confirm the problem? -Sanjoy

Dear Group, Thank you for your time. I'm starting out with TeX/ConTeXt, but want to arrive via LuaTeX (`luatex-plain.tex/fmt`). Managed to build, move and use `luatex-plain`. Have the same problem under MacOSX & Win7 (here is the Win-specific decription -- `%CTX%` is my ConTeXt root): Placed some fonts under `%CTX%\tex\texmf-fonts\otf\minion\` & `%CTX%\tex\texmf-fonts\otf\myriad`. Executed, the following commands, recognising there might be redundancy, but not sure): mtxrun --script fonts --update --force mtxrun --script fonts --update --simple mtxrun --script fonts --update mtxrun --script fonts --list --pattern=minion Result: minionpro minionprobold MinionPro-Bold.otf minionprobold minionprobold MinionPro-Bold.otf minionproboldit minionproboldit MinionPro-BoldIt.otf minionprobolditalic minionproboldit MinionPro-BoldIt.otf minionproit minionproit MinionPro-It.otf minionproitalic minionproit MinionPro-It.otf minionpronormal minionproit MinionPro-It.otf minionproregular minionproregular MinionPro-Regular.otf `hello.tex` - luatex-plain test file: %[luatex-plain] Hello % font\T =minionproregular at 12pt\T Hello world. \bye Executed: luatex-plain hello.tex Result: fonts : font with asked name 'minionproregular' is not found using lookup 'name' fonts : unknown font 'minionproregular', loading aborted ! Font \ch=minionproregular at 12pt not loadable: metric data not found or bad. Looked in `%CTX%\tex\texmf-cache\luatex-cache\generic\fonts\data` at the file `luatex-font-names.lua`. The fonts were listed. Then deleted the `luatex-font-names.luc` file, added the full paths to the fonts in front of all the file names in the `.lua` file. Running `luatex-plain hello.tex` again, works now as expected (it seems to recreate the `luatex-font-names.luc` automatically). Setting `OSFONTDIR` before font update and/or before running `luatex-plain`, have no observable effect. So, I do have a manual fix/solution. But is there an easier way? Dear all, as I have seen on the mailing list digest, my original (HTML) mail has been scrambled. Sorry for that. Here the repost: I would like to produce an svg file from a Metapost input file using some of ConTeXt's typesetting features (esp. using System OTF Fonts) using something like: \startbuffer[buffer:dummy] \start \startcolor[white] \framed[align=middle,width=28mm,frame=off] { \SansBodyBold % Font definition done earlier Test to \par rendered \par } \stopcolor \stop \stopbuffer % .... \startuniqueMPgraphic{mp:margin} picture text; text := btex \getbuffer[buffer:dummy] etex; draw text shifted(-11.8mm,-4.8mm ); % Some more fancy drawing her \stopuniqueMPgraphic Can I render that with MetaPost to SVG? Is it possible to render text as paths not as referenced glyphs in MetaPost/ConTexT? Unfortunately I have to stick to SVG as the resulting output format. Converting from PDF to SVG is not an option at the moment due a) performance considerations and b) trouble with generated font names in the resulting ConTeXt PDF file (inkscape as well as pdf2svg produce real strange results). linebreaks and cell width in xtables

Dear list, I have the following sample: \starttext \startxtable[option=stretch] \startxrow \startxcell One line And another \stopxcell \startxcell This breaks the following cell. \stopxcell \stopxrow \startxrow \startxcell This cell has multiple lines. Vertical spacing is wrong. \stopxcell \startxcell What am I missing? \stopxcell \stopxrow \stopxtable \stoptext I don’t know whether this is a bug. My question is the following: how can I get a new line inside a cell? I have another question: how can I force that both rows (in this case two) have the same width?
