BUGS with \setupbodyfontenvironment

Missing \endcsname inserted ! You can't use `\dimexpr' in restricted horizontal mode If I change the above to: \setupbodyfontenvironment[default][em=italic,x=0.9,xx=0.8,a=1.2,b=1.4,c=1.6,d=2.4,e=3.0,f=4.0,small=0.8] then the .tex compiles and runs and generates PDF output. Also, \tfe is documented to work but it is being flagged as a undefined control sequence error whereas \tfd works. Bug in first-setup.bat

Hi, Currently, the setup script for Windows does not support installation in a directory whose path contains spaces. Please change line 41 of first-setup.bat from mtxrun --script ./bin/mtx-update.lua --update --force --make --engine=all --context=beta --texroot=%OWNPATH%tex %* to mtxrun --script ./bin/mtx-update.lua --update --force --make --engine=all --context=beta --texroot="%OWNPATH%tex" %* Then everything should be fine. Splitting a combination of figures (also a philosophical question)

Hello, This is not strictly a ConTeXt question. I have two almost identical figures which I want to display one after the other. Ideally that would be on the same page with the combination of both having a single figure number (and possibly the two individual figures having labels (a) and (b), but that's not strictly required). However if the page breaks are not favourable, it would be OK to split the two figures, so that one ends up on the bottom of the previous page and the second one on the top of the new page. I could use two separate figure numbers, but then I would need to change the text that references the figures (and when the layout changes, so that I would figure out that both figures would eventually fit on a single page, I would have to change the text again). Is there any reasonable (and acceptable) solution to that? One option would be to have "Figure 1.5a: description" on the first page and "Figure 1.5b: description" on the second page while a reference to the figure would still show "Figure 1.5", but I'm not sure if this is doable. I would like to hear if anyone had a similar "challenge" and what solution you used. Mojca

I'm trying to work out how best to do this. Would you recommend I hide Volume 3's title page? I think that must be the simplest way, but I don't know how to do it using a setup. My data is coming from XML, and I'd like to avoid having a special \startVolume for Volume 3, if I can. Although perhaps that could help. Are there any other ways which might be more sensible? I wondered about using \setuphead[something][continue=yes] to fold the first blue title pages onto the red title pages, but even if I can do that, I think it would make things more difficult for getting the text right on those pages. how to set PDF TrimBox ?

Placing margin notes on the left using Lua

Dear ConTeXt users, I am typesetting a critical edition with margin notes. To place these, I am using the Lua code below. It is based on the code from the LuaTeX wiki (cf. http://wiki.luatex.org/index.php/Post_linebreak_filter#Margin_notes) and has the restrictions mentioned on this wiki page. For example, placing notes on the left of the text is not possible. Now, my questions are: (1) How can I extend the code to place notes on the left of the text? I tried node.insert_before(line.list, line.list, glyph) but it did not work out. (2) How do I use the callback within the output routine to distinguish odd and even pages? Controlling linespacing in a TOC

Hello all! This is probably a stupid question, but how do I control the linespacing in a table of contents? I found that space can be added with e.g. \setuplist[chapter][before={\blank[4*big]}] but how do I make the linespacing smaller than default? I've got \setupwhitespace[medium] does that affect the linespacing in a table of contents? Are there any other settings besides \setuplist and \setupwhitespace that affect the TOC spacing? I've got a fairly complicated file (or, rather, a group of files), so I'm wondering if there's something somewhere else that makes my TOC so airily laid out. (It looks nice, but I'd rather squish it into fewer pages...) Thanks, Mari

creating multiline paragraph in \tabulate

Supposedly \tablulate can handle a multiline paragraph in a single cell. It didn't work for me. The text just ran off the right edge of the page. So I have to add a separate title line at the top and blank out the generated title with a graphic of blank space placed below the table thus: \vskip -0.35in \externalfigure[blanker.pdf] There ought to be an easier way to get rid of the title at the bottom of the table but this is the best I could come up with. XML filtering and \setupcombinations

Hello, I'm enjoying the power of the new publication framework and started to manage my images with it. This works quite nice. But now I reached the point where my (limited) context knowledge comes to an end. I would like to print a contact sheet of my large image database. To save paper I want combine floats next to each other. Hello list members: I have context standalone installed on linux. Currently I use context like: open a terminal window source context-installation-path/tex/setuptex context filename.tex This runs contect MkIV according to log file. I would like to try MkII, but I didn't find information on how I can switch to it. (I searched for it in "ConTeXt reference manual", "ConTeXt / An excursion", contextgarden wiki pages.) What is the way to run MkII in standalone context? A link to the documentation regarding it also would be appreciated. Thanks, bcsikos

Greetings, I'm trying to typeset an Arabic text, but I have a problem with parenthesis in footnotes. The following example: \usemodule[simplefonts] \setmainfont[amiri][features=arabic,range=arabic] \setupdirections[bidi=global] \setupalign[righttoleft] \def\text{(ب)} \startdocument \text\footnote{\text}. \stopdocument gives the correct order in the text but the parenthesis are not adapted in the footnote. So in the text I get: (ب) And in the footnote: )ب(.

Weird position of equation numbers for long equations

Hi, I suspect that the equation numbering in attachment (eq-with-chapter.png) is wrong. Shouldnt't the number be positioned on the right (not on the left)? And in case that this positioning on the left is intentional: is there any way or setting to force the equation number to be moved to the right? In any case I suspect that the equation in question could somehow be squeezed into the available space in one line. What's the best trick to squeeze the equation into a single line? Some kind of "\hbox to 0pt{\hss [content] \hss}" trickery or does there exist something better? Changing font for math function

2 issues in phys-dim.mkiv

I've tried the unit interface today, and I've noticed two issues with the following example: \setupunits[alternative=text] \starttext $\unit{-4.6e-3 km s^-1}$ \stoptext 1. Minus superscripts for UNITS (so 's^-1' here—not 'e-3', which is fine) are converted to hyphens with the 'text' unit alternative (with the default 'mathematics' unit alternative everything is fine): 2. The times symbol between the number and the 10^-3 (e-3) is incorrectly spaced (as an ordinary math atom instead of a binary math atom) so doesn't look good. Maybe Hans could change \def\digitstimessymbol{\times} to \def\digitstimessymbol{\ifmmode\times\else${}\times{}$\fi} in phys-dim.mkiv?

horizontal spacing

In the below example, used with the latest standalone ConTeXt version, I can only get \hskip to work when the parameter is 1 dimension unit. e.g. 1em or 1cm for example. Changing font for math function

Their styles and colors is handled with \setupmathematics. There are two choices of user interface: 1. $\normalmathop{\mfunction{Arsinh}}\nolimits x\ \text{and}\ n_{\mtext{air}}$. 2. $\mfunction{Arsinh} x\ \text{and}\ n_{\mtext{air}}$. First, the default functionstyle and textstyle in \setupmathematics should be \rm\tf (the text mode equivalent of \mathupright, as we are always in text mode thanks to the \text hardcoded in \mfunction and \mtext). Then, in the 1st solution \normalmathop is used instead of \mathop because the latter is modified by ConTeXt to convert \rm to \mf, which makes \setupmathematics[functionstyle=\rm] without effect. The 2nd solution is obviously way cleaner, that is why I think it should be preferred. Hi, I'm looking for something like \definehighlight which I can use to markup various things in inline body text. I want different environments to be able to have their own setups to configure how these appear, just as \setuphighlight would provide. However there's one situation which I can't think how to handle; I'd like to have a setup append and prepend some text, just like before= and after= for various other setups. If \setuphighlight had before= and after=, this would suit me perfectly. But it doesn't. Is there something similar to \setuphighlight which has before= and after=? Or any other ideas? vim module: modify line wrapping

Hi, vimtyping already offers line wrapping by specifying "lines=split". However, some /lines/with/very/long/sequences/of/somehow/breakable/chars do not break at all. Hans, after upgrading to beta from 2015.05.13 23:52, the compilation of most of my documents crashes. I get two different errors depending on the document: error: .../ctxbeta/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/typo-itc.lua:148: attempt to call global 'setfield' (a nil value) error: .../ctxbeta/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/typo-itc.lua:159: attempt to call global 'setfield' (a nil value) I cannot provide a minimal sample now. Setup narrower body text for sections

Hi, I'm typesetting unix manpages, where I want each section heading to be outset slightly relative to the body text of that section. In other words, I want the body text to have a left margin which is narrower than the page width. I know I can do this with something like: \startsection[title=Synopsis] \startnarrower blah blah blah \stopnarrower \stopsection But I'd much rather set the left margin (or achieving the effect of \startnarrower by some other means) using the setups for \startsection instead. That way I won't need to have \startnarrower .. \stopnarrower all over my document. I tried \setuphead[section][margin=3cm] but the margin applies to the heading, not to the body text of the section. Of course I could set margin=-3cm and make the entire page narrower, but then I'd also need to adjust the headers and footers to match. I thought I could perhaps use before= and after=, but those are of course before and after the heading, not before and after the body text. Is there a setup to wrap some commands around the body text? Or must I define my own \startxyz .. \stopxyz thingy, or is there a better way? Thanks, -- Kate

When grids are shown in the pdf file (as a result of \showgrid), Adobe Reader 9.5 (linux version) always gives the following error message when opening the file: "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem." Despite of the message the file is shown correctly. Prefix for figure number lost in unnumbered subsection

I am still not able to set up the Noto fonts due mostly to sketchy/lack-of documentation on setting up ConTeXt fonts. I understand I need to set up typescripts but do not understand the syntax and/or semantics of the different commands and how to map the font names/paths (otf and ttf files) to reference them in the typescripts. The 2nd solution is obviously way cleaner, that is why I think it should be preferred. It avoids the user having to add \kern\zeropoint to prevent vertical alignment to the middle of the fraction bar when used inside \mathop for one-character function names (if one wants to call its function 'd' for instance). That \mathlabel should replace \mfunction which should be removed, and \mfunctionlabeltext should be removed as well and one should directly use the already defined \mathlabeltext instead, for these 3 reasons: 1. Every command containing the word 'labeltext' should not have a style attached to it. 2. The word 'function' is misleading because \mfunction and \mfunctionlabeltext do not create a \mathop atom and it makes the user believe its usage is restricted for labeling functions while the command should also be used for labeling variable with subscripts (e.g., \rho_{\mathlabel{air}} is far better than \rho_\mfunction{air}). 3. Using only \mathlabeltext with \setuplabeltext is also more consistent with the current \labeltext that works with \setuplabeltext. Hi, There is a question on TeX.SX asking how to change the font of \sin, \cos, etc. http://tex.stackexchange.com/q/243893/323 I looked at the code, and there does not appear to be an easy solution. The \mathfunctionlabeltext command has \mathupright hard coded. One option is to keep this configurable using \setupmathematics, perhaps mfunction=(normal|italic|sans). In any case, I think that the current implementation is a bug. The default font for mathfunctionlabeltext should be typeset in the bodyfont. Aditya

I have the following commands: \xmlsetsetup{\xmldocument} {span[@label]} {xml:logo} \xmlsetsetup{\xmldocument} {span[contains(@class,'tex\letterpercent-logo')]} {xml:tex:logo} Is there no way to merge both in one? external figure sizing

Hello list members: I would like to make a photo montage (4x3 images on one page) using \placefigure, \externalfigure and combinations. The images should be scaled to the same size, eg to .25\textwith and .3\textheight so that the aspect ratios of the images are kept and the appropriate value is used for width or height. That is the smaller value from .25\textwith and .3\textheight is used for the image size. Using only \useexternalfigure[Fig1][1.jpg][width=.25\textwidth] may not give the correct result if the image requires size adjustment by height and vice versa. Defining both width and height results in exact resizing and the aspect ratio is not maintained. How can this be solved? Thanks, bcsikos

Newbie needs help getting started

Hi, I'm trying to get ConTeXt to run on my Windows machine (Windows 7 SP1). I already had MiKTeX installed on the machine. Here is what I did: 1. I downloaded context-setup-mswin.zip. 2. I unzipped and copied the folder to C:/context 3. I ran the command first-setup.bat --context=current --modules=all 4. I added C:\context\tex\texmf-win64\bin to my PATH variable 5. I opened up the example file at http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Hello_world in TeXWorks 6. I selected ConTeXt(LuaTeX) 7. I compiled the file The compilation failed. Hello Mojca, The trick that I would use, in fact the procedure that I always use, is not to use bib-files but to separately generate the bbl-file and input that. ConTeXt uses the .bbl, and once you have that you can tweak it in (almost) any way you like. You could if necessary, make two or more versions of the same publication, for instance in a footnote “Just Someone et al.” and in the Bibliography the complete list of Authors of that publication. For my Bibliographic data I even needed three versions of each entry, one with authorname, to use your example, “Someone, Just” in the Bibliography, “Just Someone” for footnotes, the first occurrence, and “Someone” with a short book- or article title for all susequent occurrences. No problem when you use the .bbl. Obviously the different versions should have (slightly) diiferent cite-keys. (And take care not to input the .bib-file, since each time you process the thing a fresh .bbl is created wiping out all your modifications.) I hope it solves your problem. \FlushStep does not seem to work when "revealing" steps in a mathalignment. Is there a known solution for showing rows of a mathalignment in their own "frame"? Hi, When citing articles with five authors I prefer to list all of them, but in some articles with one hundred authors I would prefer just "J. Someone et al." since listing five more co-authors doesn't add anything substantial to the information. Is there any trick that would allow liming the number of listed authors on per-article basis? If you use other TeX distribution (TeXlive, MikTeX), you will have conflicts because your system doesn't know how to differentiate between your current TeX distro binaries, and Context's binaries, so, the system will use different (non-compatible) versions of a lot of things, and will use the first executables found in the PATH. I have both texlive and context, but configuring them to work well together, took me a while. I use a couple of custom .bat files to invoke context's path ONLY when I compile Context files, but use the defaults for textworks when I complile LaTeX files. What I did was: 1. Your same steps 1-3. 2. Created a folder called C:/context/pragmatex/ 3. Inside that folder I placed two files: PRAGMATEX.BAT and SETPATH.BAT (contents below) 4. Add C:\context\pragmatex\ to the PATH variable (so the two mentioned files can be found by the system) 5. Configure TeXworks: 5.1. Open TW and go to Edit > Preferences 5.2 Select "Compilation" tab 5.3 In that Window, in the field "Location of TeX and related programs" (or something like that, the name can be slightly different. I use the Spanish version), add (using the button marked "+") the folder C:\context\pragmatex\ 5.4 In the same window, below, select ConTeXt (LuaTeX), and click "edit". 5.5 In "Program" add "C:/context/pragmatex/pragmatex.bat" (without quotes). 5.6 In "Parameters" just add "$fullname" (without quotes) if it's not already there. alternative numerical \cite command

Hello list members: For inserting citations ConTeXt offers several \cite command alternatives. If I understand correctly citations can be inserted like: \cite[key], when the document's default cite type is used, or: \cite[authoryear][key], \cite[author][key] etc., where the citation style is set by the first option. These citation styles are predefined in context. What I would like to do is inserting alternative numerical citations: normal superscript citations, like this^1, and occasionally inline citations in brackets, like this one [2]. How could I define alternative numerical citation style, e.g. \cite[inum][key] on the analogy of author, authoryear etc. styles? Thanks, bcsikos

minimum number of dots in lists (TOC, LOF)

Hello list members: I have set up a document showing the table of contents with dots between section titles and page numbers. (\setupcombinedlist[content][level=3,alternative=c]) Some of the titles are longer and between the title and page number only one dot is inserted, which is not nice. Can it be controlled what is the minimum number of inserted dots (e.g. 3) or what is the minimum width of the distance where dots can be inserted? If the distance is less, empty space should be inserted instead. Is this possible? Thanks,

Help with \numexpr

Colleagues I've written some code which should extract photos from a directory and a add couple of lines of description to each photo. I'm using a variable (\numberText) as a counter which I was hoping to use with \getfromcommalist[string1, string2,...][\numberText] to add one line of text. However when I try to increment the variable using \numexpr (\numberText=\numberText+1) \relax I get the error "You can't use `\numexpr' in vertical mode". I'm not familiar with \numexpr and there does not seem to be much on the wiki on how to use it. Any suggestions would be helpfull. Thanks to remarks by Mojca and Alan, I did some testing with mkiv and my old setups for bibliography under mkii, and magically it works also with the new bibliography features of mkiv, that is without saying \usemodule[bib]. However somehow I couldn’t find an equivalent for the command \placepublications[criterirum=all] when one needs to give another title to the section containing the bibliography (as in the attached file). As I understand from Alan’s and Thomas Schmitz’ answers, the new bibliography features are not yet completely « production ready » for those people who need complex requirements (this is not my case…). However it would be nice if the new commands were made known somewhere, even without having a detailed manual (some people use quite elementary features and probably those may be obtained in less than ten commands…). simplefonts vs typescripts

I have been trying for weeks to set up the Google Noto fonts for ConTeXt. I have tried (but do not understand all the syntax and parameters of) typescripts and simplefonts. It seems that I probably should gravitate towards typescripts because the typescripts seem to be what comes with the distribution of other fonts. Is there detailed documentation describing all the parameters in detail and giving examples? All I found is some vague examples without any explanations in the contextgarden.net wiki. Is there a tool that I can use to look at the .ttf or .otf file and discern the values I need to put into the typescripts? Is there a tool to generate typescripts from the .ttf and/or .otf files or would one be easy for me to write in say Korn, Perl, or Python? Please advise! Thanks. Mark off boxes

I am trying to create a form which will use check boxes in it. I tried to use the \bigsquare character for the check box and put in in an itemize list. The \bigsquare character, however does not display however in the itemized list, but will display by itself. What do you normally do for check boxes? No hyphenation in Bulgarian

Hi, I have to typeset a Bulgarian document but the hyphenation doesn’t work. The lang-bg.lua file is not loaded, according to the log. (All four lang-bg files are present in /tex/texmf-context/tex/context/patterns/) \usetypescriptfile[type-gentium] \usetypescript[gentium] \setupbodyfont[gentium,12pt] \mainlanguage [bg] \starttext \hyphenatedword{програмираната} \stoptext Do I have to do anything special, in addition to \mainlanguage [bg] ? Why is context.mkii out of date?

Hi, I created some documents with MKII and started wondering why pdfinfo was showing Creator: ConTeXt - 2013.06.07 17:34 Producer: pdfTeX-1.40.16 CreationDate: Sun May 3 11:18:14 2015 ModDate: ConTeXt - 2013.06.07 17:34 I first thought that I accidentally used TeX Live 2013 and had to tripple-check until I realized that context.mkii actually defines \edef\contextversion{2013.06.07 17:34} Why is that? While I understand that MkII is basically frozen, it would be nice if pdf reported the version of ConTeXt that was actually used. (ModDate might also be wrong. In MkIV it's the same as CreationDate. And in MkIV Creator uses one extra space at the beginning.) Thank you, Mojca

Font problems.

On the same source file Texlive 2004 context (mkiv) can find files that a more recent stand alone version of context can't. I need to set something somewhere so that the stand alone version can find files in /usr/share/fonts/OTF. I call the stand alone version from a script called "Context" in /usr/local/bin: -------------------------------- . /home/safe/context/tex/setuptex context $1 ------------------------------------- /home/safe is my home directory. Stand alone context is in /home/safe/context. Right Margin Being ignored bug?

The following minimal example demonstrate how a series of underscores in not handled right with regards to right margins. I realize there are a few rules command and I plan to use them in the future but for now I am just trying to port old forms into ConText and have them be usable. Any ideas on how I can get ConText to split the lines and honor the righ margin space? Thanks

buffers writing CR only instead of proper newlines (LF)

Hi, The gnuplot module recently stopped working because the buffers now seem to write out the CR (0x0d) instead of the LF character for newlines. Synonyms’ \infull doesn’t work anymore

Hi, starting with the Beta from 16 April I have a problem with synonyms. The \infull part doesn’t work anymore. Example: ``` \definesynonyms [Tea] [Teas] [\fullTea] \setupsynonyms [Tea] [synonymstyle=italic] \Tea [tFop] {FOP} {Flowery Orange Pekoe} \starttext \tFop\ is ‘\fullTea{tFop}’. \stoptext ``` I can make it work again with some hackery in the strc-syn.mkiv file: If I copy back the line `\simplelistparameter\c!textcommand{\clf_synonymmeaning{#1}{#2}}%` (e.g. from the Beta 14 April) into the `strc_synonyms_insert_meaning` definition (at line ~338) it works again. Letterhead Usage

I have created a letterhead for correspondence, but it is too unfriendly to have to include it in every time. I would like to use it as a package, but don't know if it's possible. The problem I see is that the command \setlayer must be done after the \starttext command. If it doesn't then formatting commands such as \sc will not take affect and I believe a different font is also applied. What would be a user friendly way to implement letterheads (made up using the layers functionality of context? Thanks

line number overwriting

Hello, I've got some strange behavior with verbatim text : The lines of the verbatim text got two different numbering that overwrite each other. I think that I've read something about this but I don't find it in the mail archive. If I remember correctly, there is a bug into the line number routine when you use a verbatim text into a column set with the paragraph command and when the verbatim text is enclosed into a frame. Lucida Type1 Fonts

I have been using TUG's Lucida Type1 fonts for a while in ConTeXt, but a recent update of the standalone version of ConTeXt is giving the following when building a document containing math: unknown math characters: μ (U+003BC) σ (U+003C3) χ (U+003C7) (n=44) Obviously, it's having a problem with \mu and \chi, and these characters are showing up as a "?" in the document. Does anyone know what may have changed recently to break Lucida Type1 support? Troy

Making \setupinterlinespace work with \switchtobodyfont

Hello, I am trying to have inter-line space change according to the current size of the body font, which I modify with \switchtobodyfont, but I cannot seem to affect the desired change as per the MWE below. \setupinterlinespace seems to take its lead from the original \setupbodyfont directive in the document, and does not revise it even when font size is changed. Is there a prescribed method to properly use \setupinterlinespace (or for that matter \setupwhitespace when switching font sizes? Hello list members: I would like to align the labels (numbers) of the bibliography list to the right to look like this: ...1 ...2 ...... ..11 ...... .121. Note that dlls and exes are different for 32bit and 64bit versions, even if names are the same. I uploaded temporarily http://members2.jcom.home.ne.jp/wt1357ak/context-mswin.zip I don't know installers, so context-mswin.zip is only for Mojca, not for general users. I'll remove it if Mojca download it. Complete set of 32bit luatex and luajittex are in context/bin/win32, and complete set of 64bit luatex and luajittex are in context/bin/win64. Best, Akira

Hello ConTeXist. I tried to install standalone ConTeXt (64 bit. Version) into the new installation of Windows 8.1 During installation, I encounter a message about missing DLL library (at first MSVCR100.DLL, after insert this library next error message.). Windows console message from utf-8 source

Dear list, I have the following minimal example: \starttext \message{En español usamos acentuación} \stoptext Saved as utf-8, Linux displays the message fine. (I guess MacOS X would do the same.) The problem is the standard console in Windows. It requires IBM codepage 850 exclusively. (Or at least, I don’t know how to display utf-8 strings.) System fonts not loading

Hello, I seem to be having some trouble getting the system fonts to load from my Debian Jessie system. I'm using: mica@box:~/Working$ context -version mtx-context | ConTeXt Process Management 0.61 mtx-context | mtx-context | main context file: /home/mica/.context/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/context.mkiv mtx-context | current version: 2015.04.18 14:41 and OSFONTDIR is set and all the fonts I want to use are in ~/.fonts: mica@box:~/Working$ echo $OSFONTDIR /home/mica/.fonts/ Usually when I run into font problems or add a new font, I run: fc-cache -fv mtxrun --generate context --make This has worked for some time, however now it will not. Consider the following: \definefontfamily [junction] [rm] [Junction Regular] \definefontfamily [junction] [mm] [Latin Modern Math] \setupbodyfont[junction] \starttext \input ward \bf \input ward \tf \input ward \bf \input ward \stoptext which results in a pdf with Latin Modern. mtxrun --script fonts --list --all doesn't seem to be seeing the OS fonts, but sees all of ConTeXt's fonts. However, fc-list : family (which will list all the system fonts known by fc-cache) shows all the fonts as available. Thank you for any help. Best, Mica

caption alignment with floats in the margin

Hi, I am trying to place some floats in the margin and noticed that the caption gets centered instead of following my specification to flushleft. If the float is in the main body it is ok. . I also know that there is the ConTeXt command \definemathcommand[nolop]{xyz} which I thought stands as an equivalent to the \operatorname wrapper \DeclareMathOperator, but apparently not since it doe not use the 3 commands 1. \newmcodes@ 2. \kern\z@ 3. \operator@font in it, so I wonder the point of such a wrapper since all it seems it does is translates to \mathop{xyz}\nolimits To sum up, I would like to have a \DeclareMathOperator in ConTeXt, so here are my 2 questions: 1.
