Dear list, for some reason unknown to me, LMTX has problems with PDF documents comming form the German official gazzette. http://www.bgbl.de/xaver/bgbl/start.xav?startbk=Bundesanzeiger_BGBl&jumpTo=… contains one of the documents and here is a minimal sample: \setuplayout[page] \starttext \externalfigure[bgbl_Bundesgesetzblatt Teil I_2022_Nr. 20 vom 22.06.2022_bgbl122s0928.pdf] \stoptext The source above distorts the page presentation with LMTX, but it is perfectly fine with LuaTeX. How to tell a single *.tex file to produce separate PDFs?

I have a document that's quite long. It uses a recurse function, a bit like this: \starttext \dostepwiserecurse{1}{180}{1}{% \input chapter\recurselevel } \stoptext That produces 180 chapters of content. Anyway, my boss is upset she has to use a table of contents to navigate to the page she wants, and so wants me to split the file into 180 separate files, which somehow is going to be easier to look at. Honestly, she probably still won't ever actually look at it, but that's her requirement. The problem is, I've been splitting the file by using Print --> PDF and choosing a custom print range, and then saving it. If I ned to repeat that 180 times, it not only will have errors, but probably take 5-10 hours. Is there something I can put, like \breakpdf or something that will tell it to start a new PDF file? They can be named something like file1.pdf, file2.pdf, etc. \starttext \dostepwiserecurse{1}{136}{1}{% \input chapter\recurselevel \breakpdf } \stoptext The perhaps "obvious" answer is just make 180 *.tex files, but since the minimal example above is like 0.01% of the complexity of the real file, that isn't so easy... --Joel

appendaction in "shipouts" "after" fails in the latest version

Hello, dear Hans. I have a Lua module that doesn't work in the latest version 2024.08.16 16:30. After investigation, I found that the errors first occurred in the appendaction. It could be appended normally in the version 2024.04.01 08:59, but failed in the latest version. Envelopes and shaded paths

Hi, I have been playing about with envelopes to produce shaded paths as described in the new LuaMetFun manual, see page 105 therein. Using the code below I wanted to produce a shaded path, in this case a curve and then rotating it in 5 degree steps from 0 to 355 degrees to produce a kind of spiral. I was expecting the shading to remain that way, however, as the curve is rotated round, the shading effect slowly changes until it is reversed, and as it continues to be rotated it returns to it original shading. Although I quite like that effect, it's a nice feature, I would like to be able to produce the shading the way I wanted. A while back Hans explained to me why this happened and how I could remedy it, but unfortunately my aged memory has failed me and I cant remember how to do it. So I thought the youthful brains of the ConTeXt group may be able to help out, and it might be of interest in any case. I attach a pdf of the spiral effect. Best Wishes Keith McKay

Problem with context --extra=select

Greetings, Regardless of the selection criteria, the select tool selects only the first page. This feature works in my ConTeXt versions from 2024.05.17 and 2024.08.13. I'm running the latest version, i.e. 2024.09.17. context --extra=select --selection=11:16 forexample.pdf I've attached the output in a log file if anyone's interested. Table and rotation: push together 45 degree rotated cells

Hi, I want to typeset a table where some of the column headings are really long, while in the columns itself consists only of numbers. Therefore, my idea was to rotate the column headings but not 90 degrees (I found some solutions for that) but 45 degree. It then would be beneficial to push together the rotated cells, so the text of one cell actually starts above the previous cell. Do you know, how to achieve that? Inline equations and html export

I have noticed a change which seems to break XML/html export for inline equations; although I don't know if the issue is with the new version or with how I'm using it. any way to show downloading progress for the `install.sh`?

for the installation of ConTeXt, when the shell script `install.sh` start to run, any way to show the downloading progress when it fetches the zip from the site? For example: ``` mtx-install | fetching 'http://lmtx.pragma-ade.com/install-lmtx//texmf.zip' ``` It looks stopped while the downloading is going on. but the user may wrongly regard something goes wrong When the networking speed is slow. Two options would be nice: a) just how the current percentage of the downloaded data; b) even better, under the line, starting a new line, starting with a percentage, then followed by dash characters plus an arrow like `->` to show the downloading progress dynamically --- while the downloaded data adding up, the number of dash characters prolongs accordingly.

Calling C code from ConTeXt LMTX

Hello, TL;DR: Could building LuaMetaTeX with the `-fPIC` flag for the Lua library have negative consequences? Is there a better way to be able to call external C functions from ConTeXt? I am working on a small project where it would be convenient to call functions written in C (possibly pre-compiled in a shared library) from ConTeXt. After looking at the Lua FFI, I found a way that seems to work (with ConTeXt LMTX 2024-08-16) but requires a small tweak to the cmake file used for building the Lua library. I would be grateful to have the opinion of people more knowledgeable than I am about whether this change could have negative consequences and whether there is a more straightforward way to call external C code. What I am trying to achieve is: * Compile some C code in a shared library (for instance, it may contain a numerical solver for some partial differential equation). * Have this code run when compiling a document with ConTeXt. (For instance, solving the differential equation with parameters defined in the .tex file and retrieving the results to plot a figure with MetaPost.) One easy way to do that is: * Write wrappers for the functions that will need to be called from ConTeXt using the Lua C API. * Compile the code and wrappers in a shared library and linking to the static lua library used by LuaMetaTeX (liblua.a on Linux). * In the .tex file, import the new library using, e.g., ``` \startluacode mylib = require("mylib") -- additional code using the C functions \stopluacode ``` * Run ConTeXt with the `--permitloadlib` flag. However, the second step requires (at least on Linux) liblua.a to be compiled with the `-fPIC` flag. I could do that by adding ``` set_property(TARGET lua PROPERTY POSITION_INDEPENDENT_CODE ON) ``` at line 47 in lua.cmake. Is there any known negative effect of doing that (apart from a possible small performance drop)? (Just to be clear, this is not a feature request; I'm just wondering whether doing it on my side is fine.) On a related note, is there a standard way to call external C functions (either in a shared library or in a .c file) from ConTeXt LMTX? The SwigLib library described in https://www.pragma-ade.nl/general/manuals/swiglib-mkiv.pdf looks very promising (and maybe could be a way to achieve what I'm trying to do in a much cleaner way), but I (maybe for lack of trying hard enough) have not been able to make it work with ConTeXt LMTX so far. Margins using 2UP imposition schema

Hello: I'm composing an A5 booklet printed on an A4 paper using the 2UP imposition schema. I believe, in such case, margins should be controlled using 'backspace' and 'cutspace' options of the \setuplayout command, but I'm afraid I don't quite understand how to use those properl. I want to make the 'external' margin (right on odd pages and left on even pages) as small as possible, and the 'internal' margin larger, so that I can hole punch the booklet. \button is defined to jump to a given reference. However, I would like to place a button that can execute a macro to be defined by myself. Thus for example pushing the button \executebutton{text}{macro} will execute that macro. Is this available somewhere in ConTeXT? If not, can it be provided in a future update? yours sincerely dr. Unexpected behaviour of apa-bibliography

I do not know anything about the apa-standard, so I do not know if my rendering follows the standard. The first appearance of the author in the bibliography is marked with year-b (1847b), the second with year-a (1847a). I expected the first to be marked with year-a and the second with year-b. Citing multiple references in one \cite[] only 2 out of 3 righttexts appear. When using \setupbtx[apa:cite][sorttype=none] all 3 righttexts appear but the characters after the year disappear. Is there a way to fix that behaviour? Thank you. Have a nice weekend. The paragraph with \tt seems to go over my margin of .5 inches for the left and right side of my doc., but the serif and sans serif text doesn't. I can't seem to figure out why exactly this is. Did I set up \setuplayout incorrectly? I wanted .5in margins but I kind of 'hacked' the way I got things. Is there a better way that I could have gotten .5 inch margins and a.5in header/footer? I can't seem to understand why the output is what it is. I would greatly appreciate any help! Feel free to switch out the fonts if you'd like

When I try to use a combination (example = \setupalign[normal,extremestretch,verytolerant,hangingboth,fullhz,hyphenated,] ) and just normal I seem to be getting the same result when I try to load in a big paragraph. However, there is an obvious difference between me entering (just) flushleft, normal, flushright. Have those options become obsolete? how am I supposed to know? I use the latest version of LMTX

Indentation in headings

Greetings, As per Russian GOST standards, numbered section headings are flush left and start with the paragraph indent. Is there a proper way to indent a section heading? The code simulates what I want visually, but it unfortunately causes the heading to poke out into the margins. That can be troublesome if the title is long enough. ConTeXt beginner, What should I enable within font features? And how do I see all the options possible?

I assume that `\definefontfeature [default] [default] [trep=yes,dlig=yes,itlc=yes]` will affect every single font that goes into my preamble (Forgive me if I seem incompetent, I am a beginner at ConTeXt) I have dlig and trep on so that works with single quotations like don't have a directional quote, and so that I get the Times New Roman ligatures via dlig and not just liga. itlc is enabled since I read some documentation and they sometimes mention enabling it is there some stuff like the extrafeatures option or anything that you would recommend i enable? might there be options for extrakerns that would be seen as something that one should enable? also, how can I see all the options available? dlig is something I discovered by accident that was not in the options list in the documentation. i use the latest version of ConTeXt LMTX on Windows

Problem is that that vertical label (Taken by...) is on the right hand side of the page, and I can't seem to adjust that with various offset attempts to bring it across to the right of the pic. Thank to all who answered my questions before. As the title suggests, how do I get the correct page numbers? For example, in the example below, the first line on the 2nd page, but the page number showed is 1, In the meantime, I tried using \definepagestate, but it didn't seem to work either. What I can think of is to use citations to get the correct page number. How to use Adobe Acrobat Reader (free) as the pdf viewer when compiling file in Windows Terminal (Windows)

I want to use Adobe Acrobat Reader (free) and I always get this message when I have my Windows Terminal, vs code and acrobat setup backend > quitting because file 'Chapter 4 Assignment.pdf' cannot be opened for writing I run into no problems with using sumatra or okular, but Adobe Acrobat free seems to have this problem. Is there a way to fix this? The way I run context on windows is by making the doc in vscode (no extension, just plain vscode), compiling in Windows Terminal and using a pdf viewer to then view stuff.

What could possibly be wrong with 'P'?

Here is a really odd one that I have a simple workaround for, but for the life of me I cannot work out why this is happening. Is 'p' (or 'P') some sort of restricted letter in certain circumstances? Here is the issue: \startdocument [metadata:author={Author name}, metadata:title={Psalms}] And I get an error. Document will not compile. Any other initial letter than 'p' (in Psalms) does not produce the error. So if I do something like: \startdocument [metadata:author={Janet Dawson}, metadata:title={~Psalms}] Then I no longer get the problem. Which just seems to confirm the fact that it is the initial letter 'p' that is the problem. I can also change the spelling of 'psalms' (anything really, asalms, xsalms) and there is no problem, but of course that would be silly. I have never had this issue before, so while it looks like 'p' is the problem (it can hardly be the Psalms!), it is possibly something else, but what, I would not know. If it helps, I am calling in that metadata:title in the header in the usual way, e.g.: \setupheadertexts [ ] [{\getmarking[chapter]\hskip1em \pagenumber}] [] [ {\pagenumber \hskip1em \documentvariable{metadata:title}}] But that should not be a problem. Below is the error log, but it refers to line 346, which happens to be \stopfrontmatter so does not seem relevant. Hi, With context 2024.08.16 the following gives an error: \starttext $A \ldot B$ \stoptext tex error > tex error on line 2 in file ./test.tex: Control sequence expected instead of undefined <line 3.2> $A \ldot B$ Same error with `\ldotp`. However \starttext \show\ldot \show\ldotp \stoptext gives > \ldot=permanent \Umathchar"02"00"00002E > \ldotp=permanent \Umathchar"06"00"00002E which appears correct. So, not sure what is going on. Combining styles (especially bold and italic)

Hi, I have the situation that I want to typeset a special formatted name within a section heading. The name contains an italic part while the heading is bold, but both styles are defined at another place. Is there a way to tell ConTeXt to combine them, so that it is bold _and_ italic? Here is a minimal example: ``` \define\somename{HX\style[italic]{print}\autoinsertnextspace} \setuphead[section, subject][style={\bfc}] \starttext \startsection[title=The \somename name] \somename is a strange written name. \stopsection \stoptext ``` In the normal text, HXprint is written correctly, in the section heading "print" is italic but not bold. Is there an alternative to \reference[]{} that won't interfere with the document design?

I had to place \reference[]{} in various places in my document as I need to refer to page numbers of a lot of various items in the document. There are hundreds of these. When placing them, I hadn't realized it would impact the document design--I assumed such a command would be invisible. Though I've tried placing as many inside the section titles, where they become invisible, I've found just placing \reference[]{} anywhere on a page will create extra blank spaces, leading my document to expand from 440 lines to 448. It added up quite quickly to 8 whole pages. No matter how much I use % or try to hide it within the page, it still produces weird results. It isn't invisible, its doing things to the document, moving text around, leaving gaps. In addition, it makes the document look haphazard, creating random formatting "glitches". I'm assuming because \reference has a curly bracket {} that its causing something to be rendered, even it its not really something visible always, it often makes a carriage return on the page if placed say after a table, or before a section title. Sadly, the way the document was designed I don't have a way to integrate them inside the section titles everywhere, there are too many and some need to mark a specific page within a section. I haven't placed anything inside the {} and only use the square brackets to mark the reference name. Is there an alternative command that won't occupy space like this? --Joel

Inserting text between end notes

Hello all, I am trying to implement some style-guide-defined (Chicago 17, and now, 18) requirements to the end notes in a book. The need is to insert non-end-note text into the list of end notes. But end notes are not a list (as far as I can see) and \writetolist and such are no help. The text to be inserted is of two types. The first is the name of the chapter from which the following notes were generated. It would be nice to automatically generate these. The second type is pseudo-end-notes crediting the book and chapter epigraphs, which should appear as unnumbered end notes (at the start of the note section and the start of each chapter's notes). Ideally these would be generated in the same way as regular end notes but will not increment the note numbers (and should not, at least in my use case, require cross-referencing or bookmarking). I can hack the first requirement with: \define[1]\EndNoteChapter{\testpage[3] \blank \midaligned{\tfa{Chapter #1}} \blank} in the environment and \EndNoteChapter{6 How I Saved the World} at the end of the last end note in the preceding chapter, but this is obviously prone to mistakes. I would rather integrate the handling into the chapter heading environment. I suppose that this hack might be extended to handle the epigraph notes as well, but it is just a hack. Has anyone successfully dealt with this before? If not, is there the possibility of adding similar functionality to \writetolist and such for end note structures? -- Rik

Placement of floats with an "anchor"

Hi, in my document, I recently left a TODO note that said: "This floating graphic needs to be on the same page than this formula at the end." My floating graphic currently uses: \startplacefigure[title={bla}, location=top, reference=fig:bla] ... \stopplacefigure The graphic should be at the top of the page where the formulas are typeset at the end. Normally, I would do that manually, when all other text is finished. Can I somehow automate this in ConTeXt? So defining a (non visible) "anchor" at a random place within the normal text and then tell ConTeXt to place the float at the same page (if possible)? (ConTeXt LMTX) How do I fix the centering and setting up width in xtables?

Though, I am having trouble with the table that goes over the big sized text that would be my name. It has an email, a phone number, and an address but they are all.... aligned very weirdly. I want them to be centered. Though, the phone number has some sort of problem with alignment, and I don;t know fi the other ones are causing it or are also aligned wrong. I also wanted to make this code: \startxcell[topframe=on,bottomframe=on,align=flushright] Ability to communicate strongly and effectively, being a reliable team member, supporting a team whenever needed, and the desire to help everyone \stopxcell has it so that it doesn't take up so much horizontal space (Ideally it is taking up 1/3 of the width I am allowing for since there are three rows in total) , but when I add width={some value} into the square brackets, it will add a blank line after all the text, and this is not what I want. is there a way to fix what I am experiencing? I would also not mind if I could be told how to improve my code, whether it be by adding startxrowgroup, startxcellgroup, or head and footer sections., or other options. Thank you for reading.

For example, in https://mailman.ntg.nl/archives/list/ntg-context@ntg.nl/thread/NZOIVLVPZHHM… in Hans' response of 27 Aug 1:07 a.m., it has "There are three ways" attributed to contact(a)0vladimirgrbic.com, whereas in the email I received those four words (appear to) come from Hans. Problem with end note processing

Hello all, I am working through some issues with end notes, and came across a what appears to be a bug as demonstrated in the following MWE. When the commented line is enabled, none of the three end notes gets an index, but the second should. It seems that the last end note determines the display for all end notes. Hans, I wonder whether MkXL may have page registers for footnotes. This would be great to have page glossaries, such as in https://geoffreysteadman.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/08/lysiascrito-24aug17… (first apparatus). To be fair, I have asked that a while ago (with MkIV). It would be great to have these page glossaries as language aids. Right now, they need to be composed manually (using a word processor, no TeX). BUG REPORT: Italic Correction in ConTeXt LMTX

Hello, I started using ConTeXt LMTX 2 days ago and after some initial testing I noticed an unexpected behavior regarding italic correction. In short, I cannot seem to produce italic correction like I could in plain TeX or even LaTeX. I've asked the question on TeX StackExchange and another user confirmed the suspicion in his answer. I would suggest you take a look at it because the formatting of the question and the answer is prettier than in this plain text email. Furthermore, a person who provided the answer already did some research. Defining mathsymbols from unicode char

I am trying to define the "pitchfork" unicode character( https://unicodeplus.com/U+22D4) to use in ConTeXt as stated on page 387 of new math manual authored by Hans and Mikael: \definemathsymbol[pitchfork][relation]["22D4] It works with some unicode characters and not others (like this character). What can I do to make it work? 2. I would like a \not\perp symbol but it doesn't draw the stroke on top of the symbol. I know you could manipulate this in a plain TeX but I am thinking the mechanism in ConTeXt would be different. How can I achieve this? Hi, I played around with different fonts, especially Bitstream XCharter and Overpass (http://overpassfont.org/) and wanted to combine them. However, I see some issues regarding ligatures, kerning and obliques/italics. I'm struggling with several things: - xcharter seems to have no kerning applied. It is listed as font feature, though. Is it correct to have no kerning at all for that font? - xcharter also have no ligatures (at least it doesn't look like that). That is listed as font feature, too, although only for italic and slanted. According to https://tug.org/FontCatalogue/xcharter/ there are ligatures in the font. - Overpass has a glyph for the ae ligature. Is it normal that it is not used as a ligature for ae? - Overpass Mono does not contain italic glyphs. I would have expected obliques when using \slanted then. However, it just remains normal. - I included the ™ in the example since its italic glyph is not slanted. For all fonts \slanted seems to switch to the extra (italic?) glyphs, while I would have expected obliques. At least overpass seems to have no dedicated slanted style, while xcharter has one. - Is there a command to show ligatures the same way there is a command for kerning? Hello, I read this very good document and it says that it was written with the Pagella font. I use this font with a simple \setupbodyfont[pagella,11pt] but I find that the rendering is not the same as on the document, it is less nice especially in the writing of the theorems with the text in italic. Hi everyone, I’m working on creating a horizontal line within a math align environment that spans the entire equation, rather than being restricted by the columns. Does ConTeXt still support ePub output?

I recently learned I need to produce an ePub copy of my document, which will be used to produce braille and other versions of my file for people with limited or no vision. As I understand this is just like a ZIP file containing a bunch of HTML files with some links to each other. Though I could manually go and create tons of HTML files for it, I notice the ConTeXt Garden does mention ePub output as a possibility, but this page was updated in 2014, and I don't see any of hte sample code working. Is ePub still a file format that ConTeXt can output? Does it require a significant rewrite of ConTeXt document code to be produced or is there a simple way to output this format? --Joel

How should I be compiling my for-printers file?

I’m nearing the final stages of preparing a file for printing, which will be used to produce a textbook at a professional printer. The printer can accept PDF files, and I’ve been generating them using the context filename.tex command as part of my regular workflow. I’m wondering if this approach is producing the highest quality output for printing purposes. Is there anything additional I should consider, such as installing LuaTeX or running specific commands, or command-line switches, to ensure the best possible print quality? For context, when I installed ConTeXt standalone, it didn't seem to include LuaTeX by default, though after I installed, it asked me to run context --luatex commands which didn't function, so I worry my install isn't giving the best-possible output. --Joel

Why are some external PDF figures leading to a stack overflow error?

I am making a book that includes a series of maps which I created in LibreOffice Draw, but exported as a lossless PDF. After recently making some improvements to the map files, but not the ConTeXt documents, I was surprised my document wouldn't compile anymore...I couldn't find any code errors and even reverted to older code from the day before that compiled fine yesterday. It seemed the PDFs themselves were making the errors, but the errors were inconsistent.. I deleted my ConTeXt install and downloaded the latest version of standalone, it still won't compile, but the errors are completely different. Two column layout with footnotes

Hello list, Is it possible to create a two-column journal layout with ConTeXt in which relatively large footnotes are always in the right column and, if the size of the footnotes exceeds a certain threshold, are distributed between the left and right columns? (comparable as shown in the attachment) As far as I understand it, there are different possibilities for column set (e.g. column set, pagecolumns), but which one would be best, if it is possible at all? Bug Regarding IIalic Correction in ConTeXt LMTX

Hello, I started using ConTeXt LMTX 2 days ago and after some initial testing I noticed an unexpected behavior regarding italic correction. In short, I cannot seem to produce italic correction like I could in plain TeX or even LaTeX. I've asked the question on TeX StackExchange and another user confirmed the suspicion in his answer. I would suggest you take a look at it because the formatting of the question and the answer is prettier than in this plain text email. Furthermore, a person who provided the answer already did some research. hi,lists In macOS, some fonts (e.g klee, stkaiti ,lihei) will be downloaded under the path --> /System/Library/AssetsV2/com_apple_MobileAsset_Font7/, and I set the system font environment like: --> export OSFONTDIR=/Library/Fonts/:/System/Library/Fonts:$HOME/Library/Fonts:/System/Library/AssetsV2/com_apple_MobileAsset_Font7. But why can't I retrieve the font in this path? I've rebuilt the index after setting up the environment. Thanks for the help. Muyik

Hi, I draw a figure using MetaFun and insert it \startplacefigure and \stopplacefigure. Complete novice, why does it seem that LuaLaTeX (Compiled via LaTeX Workshop with MikTeX and added packages on Windows) will generate a more compact result than ConTeXt?

Hello, ConTeXt mailing list! I have a question regarding a difference in the code that I have which uses the same paper size and margin settings, and also the same indentation rules and font size and font. It seems that ConTeXt (which I compiled via Windows Terminal, this *is* the proper way to compile ConTeXt docs, right?) seems to make text that is less... compact, and I am not sure if this is due to me not adding features that I **should** have turned on in ConTeXt when using Times New Roman that is installed by default on Windows. I also was not able to get a "proper (?)" single quote like when Word or LaTeX compiles "Don't", that ' is a straight quote in the compiled text. I also heard that ConTeXT would be much better for typography since it does have a more advanced typographical engine as the base (and this is a big reason as to why I want to switch to ConTeXt, pretty much everything is built in, I just can't understand documentation that well), and this may be because my code is very basic and I do not know how do properly do ConTeXt. Is it possible that ConTeXt also has a more "correct" way of formatting? Anyways, thank you for reading and taking the time to read this post. Breakable tcolorbox in ConTeXt

Hi, I am trying to reproduce the behaviour of the tcolorbox LaTeX package, more specifically breakable boxes (as illustrated here: https://tex.stackexchange.com/a/676607/123770) It works nicely out of the box (pun intended) using `\definetextbackground` and drawing the frame with MetaPost, using counters to keep track of whether the current text is at the top, middle, or bottom of the box. However, I'm having issues when one box ends and another starts on the same page (see more details below). From what I understand, the issue is that counters seem to be updated on a page-wide basis, so each MPgraphic ‘sees’ the values of counters at the end of the current page, which may not be right if another box modifies them. Would anyone know how to resolve this? I tried several variations without success; my main issue is that (if I understand correctly) the values of counters are the same for the two boxes on page 3, so that at least one of them will be wrong. If someone has any ideas on how to resolve this, I'd be really grateful! Alternatively, if someone has a solution using Tikz, that would also work - I'd ideally use MetaPost as the tight integration with ConTeXt seems (from my short experience) to make many things easier; but any solution using ConTeXt + a small number of other dependencies is fine. How to allow hyphenation, only for footnotes?

My copy editor urged me to remove all hyphens from the main text of my document. I'm using: \definefontfeature[default][default][expansion=quality,protrusion=quality] \start \setupalign[nothyphenated,tolerant,hz,hanging] (text) \stop The problem is that is messing with footnotes, causing things like URLS to run off the page. How can I permit the hyphenation to appear normally, but only on the footnote text? --Joel

Guido Kühn, a design professor, caricaturist and avid manual typesetter, recently bought an old, empty cabinet for lead fonts. In case you organize your ConTeXt projects in git repositories: "addtogit.py" is a little script that checks your log (or jlg) file for the local files used and adds them to the git stage. (No automatical commit so that you can check if you want these files.) Leaves out auto-generated files like "m_k_i_v_*". vertical position of \overparent in concrete math

I have a formula involving \overparent to be typeset in kpfonts and concrete. There is no problem with kpfonts. But the \overparent in concrete is just too high. I can adjust the position with [distance=-1ex] . Is there a better way to adjust the position? Like using goodies (don't know how)? Alignments of margin notes

Hi, I want to make a two sided document with margin notes. The notes should not be hyphenated and always aligned to the inner text body. However, I did not get this to work. It hyphenates and the alignment is only correct at even pages. Do you know the correct way?
