MetaPost v1.003: graph package broken

A note from the MetaPost developers: We have noticed an incompatibility between the latest MetaPost v1.003 and the graph package. Severity is considered high, since it prevents compilation of even the most simple figures. The problem is identified and a fix is under way. A workaround is not possible. Users of the graph package should not update to MetaPost v1.003. MetaPost versions 1.002 and prior are not affected. Best regards, Stephan Hennig On behalf of the MetaPost development team

Letter module: Public version available

Hi all, although a got a lot of input for the module in my last I decided now to make a first version available to the public. It will give you the chance to test the user interface and play with the layout settings. Styles for other countries than germany are missing in the current release but I hope I could add them in the next few days. You could also take a look at the first draft of my manual I will also fill in the weeks with your questions and my answer and examples of the different layouts. I put also a third file on the page for Peter and Wolfgang. @Peter: You could take a look at letter-17.tex, I wrote a first version for page optimation of the output, feel free to change optimize.nle or to add additional methods. @Wolfgang: Support for address files KOMA-Script is in a very early state and I have to provide a generic interface but you could try example letter-16.tex for the moment. question about mplib/mkiv

Hi, for my presentations, I have a graphical counter on every slide, so metapost has to write a graphic for every slide/page that ConTeXt produces. This works with mkii, but when I process my file in mkiv, I get this error after page 16: report >> error: 15 output files written: .. Transcript written on mpout.log. Memory size overflow! Minimals - how to use?

Hi all (and thanks for the help lately with tables etc.) I have been running mkiv on a mac (powerpc, OS 10.4) with no problems, in conjunction with a TeXLive installation. I have updated this setup several times, by downloading the latest luatex and latest context from their respective sites, and following instructions previously sent to this list regarding making files executable and creating a couple of links. Lately, it seems that minimals from the contextgarden wiki are becoming the accepted standard, so I decided to switch. I downloaded the first-run script, ran it, it successfully downloaded all the components to a directory. Now my stupid question: How do I actually *use* the minimal ConTeXt installation? Date with three-letter month

Hello All, I have consulted the manuals and even the source (core-con.tex) but I cannot find a way of getting a three-letter month using the \date command. For example, I would like to display today's date as 23-Apr-08. This gives a short display suitable for use in a margin, but avoids the confusion of American (04-23-08) vs English (23-04-08) ordering when using numbers. Can anyone help? Thanks. Richard.

acroread and reload a PDF

I am on DebianGNU/Linux using acroread. Anytime I make a change to some Context source and compile it into PDF I want to view the result i.e. reload the already opened PDF. Same as with Firefox/Iceweasel and some HTML page I work on i.e. hitting C-R reloads the page for viewing. With xpdf I just hit R and the file (which changed on the disk) gets reloaded. Am I right that acroread lacks a reload feature? Reopening a document anytime it changed totally sucks ...

Bug in mkiv

Hi Hans and Taco, Mkiv does not like \{ .. \} in the text input, it thinks that they should be in math mode. For example, \starttext I need \{ braces \} \stoptext gives ! ONE upright beta, please!

Hi, my whole project is set in Times without problems - except at one spot there is a "beta" needed. Just this single time! But, unfortunately, I only get it italic: \starttext \usetypescript[postscript][\defaultencoding] \setupencoding[default=texnansi] \enableregime[utf] \setupbodyfont[postscript,10pt] \setupinterlinespace[line=12pt] $\beta$ β% same in unicode \stoptext For it is just this one character, used one single time, I don't feel encouraged to start messing around with typescripts. whizzytex for ConTeXt?

Context to xml

Hello, Reading to the xml documentation, I see in the « basic workflow » section that it's possible to have a TeX -> style -> Xml flow. Is this flow availaible ? I can't see it in the doc. I just need a few simple test : Title, author, paragraph. Since Context is the best way to produce pdf, i don't want to do Xml -> Contex -> Pdf but Contex -> pdf (various size) -> xml (-> html ?) Discussion: correspondence with ConTeXt

Hi all, Preface most of the discussions in the last weeks on the list concerned LuaTeX and MkIV with the topic fonts, xml and bugs, currently not implemented functions and bug and in the last few days also mplib. I will try start with this mail a hopefully interesting discuassions wuth many people about the current state to use ConTeXt for correspondence in personal and business live. Introduction Although ConTeXt has many features and can be used for nearly every type of document with many features to adapt the layout to ones personal requirements we have still a few places where something is missing or force us to use another tool. I will focus myself for the moment on the missing support for a real module to write letter and other correspondence. The Past and the present A few modules had been written in the past to write letter but wether they are not available like Hans own module or it is to complicated to use. Hans own module m-letter.tex was never included in the main distribution and the documentation [1] was never finished but it is now possible to find a older version in the list archives. The strong point on the module are the possibility to change the size and position of the address and reference fields but it was nearly impossible to add extra information like values for sender or to make big changes in the layout. The second option to write a letter was and is Holger Schöners letterstyle environment [2], he provided a layout for german letters with a DIN style and macros to store address and sender information. What looked like a good solution to me at first glance had also many disadvatages, the names for the fields in the refrence line used hard to memorize name like \lettersenderkey... and no high level interface to set them. Another point to me which prevented me from using the style was the hard way to change the layout, the environment provided commands to change the values but all was done with simple definition and no setup command. A few user write their own simple setups and environemnts to write letter [2,3] but none of them was really confugrable or provided a real interface. The future The lack of any good soution for this topic forced me to write my own letter module for ConTeXt. I started myself with Hans letter module and added a extra field to add my own address but this was at a time where I was still new to ConTeXt and most of the content in m-letter.tex where confusing to me and I had problem to adapt the layout to my own requirements. After I gained a little bit more knowledge in TeX and ConTeXt is started to write a new module from scratch with the option to load style files and set the information for the address and all other information with a better interface. After nearly one and a helf years and 2 major revisions I have nearly finished my module and would will make it now available also to other users. But before I make my last stable version online I want to discuss a few points with interested users. The discussion Before I start to give you information about my module and give you the chance to mention your own wishes or thoughts about the inteface I'm interested what do you use currently to write you own correspondence (letter, invoices etc.). After this interesting question for me I will now make a few information about my module available. The module use by default the definition for german business letters as layout where the position for the address block and the reference line are defined. To change the layout for your own letter I provide the option to change the default settings with the one for all command \setupletterstyle, you could use it to set the page layout, the position for the different blocks for address and sender information and also for the bodyfontsize and parskip and parindent. To use once defined for many letter you could save them in so called letterstyle files which can be loaded either with the module \usemodule[letter][style=...] or within the letter with the command \useletterstyle[...]. The lettertext is written between the \startletter ... \stopletter environment and it is possible to write in adcouemnt as many letters as you want, you could write serial letters and use the correspodence modul to save the address information in a XMl file. The values for letter are set with the \setupletter command but this is one of the still open points, the current implemtation requires sometimes to many lines for just a few information and I plan to replace it with a simpler system. Take the following minimal example \usemodule[letter] \setupletter [sender] [name={Mike Meiers}, address={Mustergasse 12\\25694 Musterstadt}] \setupletter [address] [name={Hans Hansen}, address={Zielweg 34\\78561 Tiny Town}] \starttext \startletter [opening={Dear Hans,}] letter text \stopletter \stoptext As you can see the opening for the letter is set as optional argument for \startletter because it is also possible to write it in the long form \setupletter[data][opening=...] but a simpler system could be usefull especially if you want to set only text for address and something like \setupletter[fromname=...,address=...] or \setlettervalue[address]{...} are options to replace the current solution. Before I release I first public bety version of the modul I want to hear which interface to set the letter information do you prefer and do you have things do want in the module. I could provide more ready to use layout for the module (like block style for americal letter) but I need information about the layout and the position for the fields. Bibliographic Databases

Dear all, I want to set up a shared bibliographic reference database for my research group, and I'm looking at software like refbase http:// refbase.sourceforge.net/ or refdb http://refdb.sourceforge.net/ to replace the somewhat random collection of personal BibTeX .bib files we have. Does anyone have any experience or advice to offer in using such things, and hooking them up to ConTeXt? Most of these systems will of course emit a .bib file which will obviously work, but will any emit the .bbl so I can forget about BibTeX? Will luatex one day connect to a bib database and fetch the details of a cited reference? Is there a ConTeXt "approved" way forward for this sort of thing? Thanks in advance, Robin

maybe OT? ConTeXt on an EEEPC

Dear all, maybe this is off-topic, but I just wanted to tell you about my experiences (and sorry if this sounds like a sales pitch, it isn't!). Since I have a fairly long commute to work, I spend a lot of time on the train and like/need to do serious work there. When you have to schlepp it almost every day, a normal laptop seems pretty heavy after a while, that's why I got me one of those eeepc thingies. Its tiny screen and small keyboard scream "I'm just a mobile device, not a replacement for a real computer," and it's not the fastest machine around. However, my joy is great whenever I stuff the little thing in my bag and lift it. I got the 8GB variant. To do work, I always want all my documents with me (so I can easily sync my entire Documents directory between work, home, and laptop) and, of course, my TeX installation. My texlive- texmf tree now is 1.6 G, so I needed a bit more space than the 4G model offers (models with larger screens and hard disks will be available soonish). It has a SDHC card reader, so I copied my Documents and the TeX installation to the internal disk (a SSD) and have my linux installation on a card from which I boot. With a shell script, I set the $PATH so I can mount the internal disk and run ConTeXt off of it. Everything works wonderfully. As I said, it's a slow machine, so you don't want to compile very long documents too often, but it does run every flavor of ConTeXt. I often prepare my presentations on the train, and this works great: I have the environment to which I'm used for editing the source files (emacs + ConTeXt) and a pdf viewer open in another workspace. This setup is one of the reasons why I prefer a texlive installation to a minimal ConTeXt tree: that way, I have to maintain it only once and can sync it between my computers. So whoever has to travel a lot: I find it wonderful to have such a small and light computer on the road. All best, have a nice weekend Thomas

Thanks George. EndNote is I believe the corporately-approved solution here, and similar disasters occur when people try and share its data files. For this reason I don't call these sorts of personal-level programs "databases" (any more than I'll call a .bib file a database). The TeX folk don't fare much better. Multiple personal .bib files are common, often with duplicate references but different citation keys, leading to rather variable results depending on who run LaTeX/ConTeXt on the file. Inconsistency in data entry is also a problem, although for us, accents and quotes don't seem to too big a problem. (`Authorless', i.e., corporate author documents, like data sheets, seems to be more of an issue). For this reason I'm looking for a proper SQL database solution like refdb or refbase (or maybe wikindx, thanks Andreas) with a web front- end that will hopefully enforce somewhat more consistent data entry, and maybe even auto-generate citation keys. LaTeX maths with array...

Hi, I am preparing an e-journal for astro and I have many articles with lots of equations. Unfortunately, authors are using LaTeX maths and this is giving me trouble. I have read and followed the steps of http://wiki.contextgarden.net/LaTeX_Math_in_ConTeXt and http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Math_with_newmat and it has helped me a lot but there's a snag I run all the time in: array Typically, the equation giving troubles is of the kind: \begin{equation} \begin{array}{rl} h & \sim \mu M^{2/3}f^{2/3}/r\\ & \sim M_{ch}^{5/3}f^{2/3}/r\\ \end{array} \end{equation} when I try to compile, I get ! Misplaced alignment tab character &. l.484 h& \sim \mu M^{2/3}f^{2/3}/r\\ Of course, when I use \startformula\eqalign{ h & \sim \mu M^{2/3}f^{2/3}/r \cr & \sim M_{ch}^{5/3}f^{2/3}/r \cr }\stopformula everything runs smoothly but I cannot convert all equations containing a {array}{rl} or similar, because I would never end... I guess that writing a script to convert them in eqlign would be feasible, but it's a very... precarious way... I would prefer to fix the problem from ConTeXt itself... how?? thanks, Pau

Hello, List! Follownig your recommendations while playing with fonts, I've started to write one. It's actually very basic but I already have a few questions. What I do not catch is the \starttypescript line. Is it right to say that the second parameter is the name of the 'class' to which the definitions that follow are linked? Second question on that part: Is the first argument (serif) a reserved keyword or not? What's the point of that argument? Third and last question for that part, in the case, as in here, where the font file names are easy to remember, is it still needed to create that synonyms for any reason? Second question: my font do not have a slanted face and I do not want to have pieces of computer modern in the text because, by mistake, I typed an \sl switch or something related. To avoid that, you can see I declared SerifSlanted to be a synonym for SerifItalic. Is it the way to do that or is it better to directly define SerifSlanted as a synonym to GaramondPP-Italic (in my case)? And for the last part of my little type script: \starttypescript [GaramondPP] \definetypeface [GaramondPP][rm][serif][garamondpp][default] \stoptypescript That part is for me a beautiful piece of ununderstanding :) First question: the first argument is the name we will use with the \usetypescript command. Right? Second question: the first argument of the \definetypescript is the name that will be used with the \setupbodyfont call. Is it right? Isn't there any conflict with the GaramondPP of the \starttypescript and the one of the \definetypeface? Or do they need to be the same? Other question: how are related the three following parameters (rm, serif and garamondpp)? And finally, what's the point of the 'default' argument? I'm aware that's a huge load of questions. Nothing is urgent but every replies are welcome, and that will allow me to help others. typesetting modules

For typesetting a context module I did the following, first making a .ted file and then typesetting it: texmfstart ctxtools --documentation --type=pdf char-utf.tex texmfstart texexec --silent --pdf --autopdf However I got an unknown format cont-nl.fmt. Why is nl chosen? What I am doing wrong here? I always use cont-en.fmt and have my MacOSX preference language set to english. I am an ignoramus I know, but running context starts with the message: TeXExec | no ctx file found It seems quite normal because the "first document" on the wiki also shows this message. where luatex cache?

I have a setup with several users, one acting as system administrator, the others as users. What can be said regarding the setup of the luatex cache? The possibilities I see are: (1) central cache in the /usr/local/texlive tree; (2) decentralized cache per user in its local texmf tree (3) decentralized cache per user in some unrelated directory (4) decentralized cache per user in /tmp (cleaned out by the system on restart, i think) Can someone comment on the merits of these alternatives? One small bug-fix for spaces in filename: $@ -> "$@" And one small feature request: it would be nice to get the ConTeXt-version with "context --version". t-bib and interactivity for url= and doi=

Hi, in principle, I expect that with the following setup I should be able to click on a DOI or on a URL, however, somehow they do not seem to be interactive - and the DOI does not seem to be hyphenated agressively as it sometimes extends beyond the page margin. Any idea? Dear gang, There has not been an update to mswincontext.zip since last August... Are there any plans to update this? For years now mswincontext.zip has been my one and only TeX distribution. With the new TeX-Gyre and Latin Modern fonts, as well as the rest of our developments, I think the time is way overdue for a new release. And it is safer to install a fresh distribution than to muck around with replacing the fonts etc. Any news? Hello, There are some new executables in w32tex's XeTeX. sfconv.exe teckit_compile.exe txtconv.exe What are they used for (I have no windows computer here to try)? So far, I only kept extracting the following files: fc-cache.exe fc-list.exe icudt38.dll kpathsea35671.dll msvcp71.dll msvcr71.dll xdvipdfmx.exe xetex.dll xetex.exe and wonder whether the other files are needed too or not. Adding custom key/value pairs

Hi, I'm new to ConTeXt and decided to teach myself a bit by resetting my old thesis (originally done, many years ago, in LaTeX). As the purpose is to teach myself ConTeXt rather than just have an electronic version of the thesis I decided to try to do things the "right" way. So, in setting the title page I followed the pattern shown on Contextgarden here: http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Document_Titles. That page shows how to define a nice \placetitle command with an associated \setuptitle which allows us to define values for title, subject, and date. However, I want also to be able to define values for degree, subject, and committee (to follow the school-standard LaTeX style file I had from all those years ago). I can't work out how to do this. Simply using a variable like \c!degree (to match the \c!title I found in the example) doesn't work, as ConTeXt doesn't know about such a control sequence. I was quite puzzled for a while but then it dawned on me that the example I found on contextgarden works because the keys it uses (for key/value pairs) are ones that are already defined in the ConTeXt system: title, subject, date. My attempt fails because the system doesn't know about degree, subject, and committee. I tried defining a new variable with startvariables, but that didn't appear to help. So, my question: what do I need to do to define a new key that can be used in a key/value pair? LuaTeX problems with \seeindex and \from

Hi, this is my first posting to this list but I'm following it through the archives for quite a long time. First I would like to thank the list for this huge archive. By reading the documentation and searching this archive most of my questions about ConTeXt where answered. I searched for these problems but couldn't find anything. Now to my question: I was generating my documents with XeTeX until I switched to LuaTeX and MKIV a few days ago. After I changed my typescripts almost everything worked perfectly but the commands \seeindex[]{}{} and \from[]. 1) \seeindex simply doesn't seem to work. The index is generated but all \seeindex entries are missing. It works perfectly when generated with 'texexec --xtx'. Generating the document with \version[temporary] shows in the margin '> i Indexentry' and '> see Showindexentry' so it seems that both entries are ok. I set up the register with '\completeindex[interaction=text,align=yes]' Is this a bug or are \seeindex entries handled different with LuaTeX? 2) The other problem took me quite some time to find out. When I create the document with 'texexec --lua' LuaTeX it seems that everything runs fine but no document is generated. There are no error messages even with '--verbose' set - at least I couldn't see any. Finally I found out that 'luatex' crashed during 'LuaTools | running command: luatex --fmt' (see the CrashReporter log at the end of the mail). I started to leave out all components of the product and started just with the title page, then included chapter after chapter until I found out the LuaTeX crashes when I leave the command \from[] in. I defined the URL with \useURL[apache][http://httpd.apache.org/download.cgi] and am using it in the document with \from[apache]. Here are the versions I'm using. I'm putting together my own rsync calls based on the Minimals firstsetup.bat and Vyatcheslav's installer. Found a difference: firstsetup.bat includes the switch --context=beta in its call to mtx-update. What is the difference if it's used or no?

luatex feature question/request

Hello! I was just wondering, whether something like this is possible in luatex - and if not, if it might be implemented;). I'd like to be able to transform somehow the input right *before* TeX sees it. What I mean is e.g. a transformation using regexps. Application I have in mind is as follows: in Polish, there are a few prepositions which are one-letter words; it's a bad custom to leave them hanging at the end of a line. Problem to save data font in cache

Hi, I tried to use the cwTeX fonts with MkIV and I can use them but ConTeXt is not able to save the font data and read the font for every run, this did work but it takes quiet some time to do this. A attached the result from the terminal and the log file. mtxrun can’t find the scripts

Hello, I still can't run mtxrun --scripts fonts --mtxrun --reload the output give me : MtxRun | unknown script: fonts I tried with my context installation in /usr/share/texmf and with context minimal. Digging in my directories, I supose that thoses scripts are the mtx-* in $LOCALTEX/scripts/context/lua I can't run any of them (assuming that the syntax is mtxrun --scripts {the name of the script without the « mtx- » prefix and « .lua » sufix}). I tried do chmod +x them… nothing I haven't see problems in the install process… (exept that I must run, ctxtools --update and texexec --make --all --{pdf,xe,lu}tex being root, but my user don't have write rights on these directories, so…) Any idear ? --autopdf closes all documents

I am using Scite on Windows to edit and build my documents. The most annoying behaviour is that when I press F7 to build the document the "texexec --pdf --autopdf" command that it executes closes ALL open pdf documents. So that I have to keep re-opening everything :-( Is there a way to build which just closes the document you are building and leaves others open? Thanks, Richard Stephens

small caps and old numbers with open type fonts

Hello list, I'm still playing with a few otf fonts and enjoying the way ConTeXt works :) I'm now playing with a beautiful Garamond. I try to typeset a few things with old-style numbers and, well, the output contains old-style numbers but not in my Garamond (it seems to be in latin modern). What should I do to use the old-style numbers of my font? Did a miss a doc about that? Or did I missunderstood the \os command (I thought it was a switch to the old-style of the font but it seems rather to change of font)? I actually use my font as simple as possible with a \definefont[boum][MyFont at 12pt]. Is it the problem? It the same with the \sc command. Thanks a lot for your reply, -AJ

Architecture Sketch

hi folks, I am new to ConTeXt. I had been a TeXinfo, Muse and LaTeX boy so far. Now that I am into ConTeXt for the 2nd day it came to my attention that there is for eample MkIV, luatex etc. How do they fit together? Is there some sort of architecure chart somewhere so newbies can get a hold within a few seconds? Secondly, now that it seems MkIV is the new star will all my ConTeXt knowledge be obsolete once luatex is going to be used? (Maybe I am just making a fool out of myself even asking this but then I am totally new to this whole subject so ...) What I want is to write documents (papers, manual, theses, etc.) with ConTeXt. So, is the time I am going to invest into learning and toying around with ConTeXt a secure investment of my time or not i.e. ConTeXt will be phased out or something (again, asking this might actually make me look goofy :-) tia for enlightening me!

Module documentation

Hello all, I have been using Context for a while now and have learnt a lot from the manuals and wiki. I now want to start to use features that are not documented. On the wiki (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Official_ConTeXt_Documentation#ConTeXt_Sources) I found the following command for producing a pdf output for a module: texmfstart texexec --module kpse:core-tab.tex which seems ideal for learning more. When I run the above command line it creates a .ted file but then complains: "I can't find the format file 'cont-en.fmt'!" On Luigi Scarso's page (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/User:Luigi.scarso/modules.pdf) he suggests the following: texexec --module --pdf core-tab.tex but this returns no output at all, and no pdf. I am working on Windows. I installed (this week) from the context/install/mswincontext.zip on the Pragma site and normally build from the Scite editor. Can anyone suggest what I'm doing wrong? Hi, Typeset this file :) \starttext The file \filename{knuth} contains a quotation from Don Knuth, the creator of \TEX. \stoptext core-ver.tex defines \filename to be \unexpanded\def\filename#1{{\tttf\hyphenatedfile{#1}}} and supp-lan.tex defines \hypenatedfile to be \let\hyphenatedfile\hyphenatedurl However this is redefined in supp-box.tex, due to which \filename gets redefined. %D \macros %D {hyphenatedword, %D hyphenatedpar, %D hyphenatedfile, %D dohyphenateword} %D %D The next one is a tricky one. \PLAIN\ \TEX\ provides %D \type{\showhyphens} for showing macros on the terminal. When %D preparing a long list of words we decided to show the %D hyphens, but had to find out that the \PLAIN\ alternative %D can hardly be used and|/|or adapted to typesetting. The next %D two macros do the job and a little more. Although, I cannot gather this from the definition, it seems that \hypenatedfile is showing all the hyphens in a file. This is something I don't understand. In the mk.pdf manual on luatex on page 21 there is the following example: luatools --ini plain Instead of the expected output 120,808 plain.fmt etc. I get an error: "There is no lua initialization file found. ..." Running "luatools --generate" does not help. There is a hint: "This file can be forced by the --progname directve, or specified with --luaname,..." How can I get a "lua initialization file" in order to not have the error. And how do I interpret the hint, as the text of the error message is too cryptic for me to understand. Hans van der Meer

I would be interested to use context for that (more flexibility than LaTeX), but every new paragraph is printed on a new page (as Henning Hraban Ramm posted earlier). Is there a work around other than using two pages? mplib & undefined commands

Hello Hans, I have modified the gnuplot module a bit, and stumbled upon: 1.) the need for \ifx\savebuffer\undefined \else \savebuffer[...]\fi which has been expected 2.) undefined command \forceMPTEXcheck{put_text} I have now used a wrapper to skip that line in LuaTeX (btw: what's the suggested \if clause or \beginNOLUATEX to check for luatex/mkiv?) Does it make sense to define \let\forceMPTEXcheck\empty in mkiv perhaps? 3.) undefined command \obeyMPlines. I actually forgot why I needed it, but according to the comment: \obeyMPlines % <- no longer a problem \def\obeyedline{}% <- thanks to this I simply commented out the first line and hoped for no problems in mkii 4.) It seems to work without problems now, except for one tiny detail that I get in the final PDF. [do we need TeXtexts in MkIV] What is that supposed to mean? I need to admit that I have the following piece of code in the module (in case that matters). Maybe I'm the only one who uses it, so if you have any idea how to modify the macros to make \sometxt[gp][iwona,14pt]{text} work in mkiv, I will happily drop the old code/replace it for mkiv. Hi gang, speaking of xml... I have two easy questions, but can't find an answer. It's about tweaking the pdf-output I get: 1. How do you add an additional hyphenation to a word? How would I enter the equivalent of super\-duper in an xml-file? I tried super&addhyphen;duper with this definition: \defineXMLentity[addhyphen]{\-} in my environment, but this doesn't seem to work. 2. Similar question: how to prevent an unwanted ligature, esp. in German? In TeX, I write Kauf{}laden. What would be a good way to do this in xml? I was thinking of Kauf&nolig;laden and \defineXMLentity[nolig]{\kern0pt} Any thoughts? Thanks! Thomas

Hi Taco and Hans I was typesetting the manual of a software developed by me using ConTeXt while the problem occurred. I try to minimized the problem and the result is attached. luatex.pdf --- pdf produced by luatex 0.25.2 It seems luatex forgets to hyphenating capital words.
