Dear all, The file below produces a bibliography using Mark II but only a title when using Mark IV. Have things changed or do I need a new approach? I am using Minimals. Thicker row separator in a table

Hello, I'm trying to get a thicker [transparent] row separator in a table. I have the following code: --- \definetabulate[TabA][|c|] \def\XROW{\vrule height 2.5ex depth 1.ex} \starttext \startTabA A \NR % Next Row B \NR C \SR % Separate Row D \MR % Mid Row E \AR % Auto Row F \NR \stopTabA \startTabA 1 \XROW width 1em \NR 2 \XROW width 1cm \NR 3 \NR 4 \NR \stopTabA \stoptext --- I tried all \?R commands (first table) but there is the same space between each row of the table. (BTW: What is the difference in use or purpose between \MR, \SR and \AR?) I'm trying to achieve a bigger space between two rows, like between 1 and 2 or 2 and 3 in the second table. But, I had to use a bit "dirty" trick - to use an auxiliary blank \vrule with a specific height and depth (= \XROW). That is, I'm actually growing the height of rows instead of growing their separator (= space between them). Is there a "cleaner" way how to achieve a bigger space between two rows? (I mean between two specific rows, not between rows of one table in general.) Lukas

How to remove \jobname-mpgraph.dddd?

I have a silly question - how do I remove mpgraph files now that ctxtools is gone and "context --purge" doesn't know about them? "context" doesn't need to know about mpgraph files as long as MKIV is not generating them, but if there is no mkii-only --purge alternative ... I have fifty files \jobname-mpgraph.4000 ... \jobname-mpgraph.3951 and even though I can use "rm", --purge would be a lot more convenient. Mojca

ConTeXt editors (vim?)

Dear all, I don't know how you all compile your context documents. I have used Winefish until now, but it is no longer maintained (last stable version 2006) and so I was thinking of switching to something else. I have looked at vim and it looks promising. There is a compiler file from Aditya (2006) which uses texexec. I was wondering if anybody would be interested in a vim compiler for mkiv (maybe somebody has one already?). Other suggestions are also welcomed. Best, Severin

missing accents

Ouch, After updating ConTeXt today, the accents went into digital heaven in exactly the wrong moment ... I'm using an OpenType font with some missing accents. This didn't work earlier (I didn't debug for too long): \definefontfeature[default][default][compose=yes] And this stopped working after I updated ConTeXt today: \catcode`ć=\active \defć{\buildtextaccent\textacute c} It still works with XeTeX (but I have some other (solvable) problems there). Problem processing a non-UTF8 Lua script

Hello, I have a problem with processing a Lua file similar to that with \typefile described several days (weeks?) ago. Let's have the following files: - Ctx: --- \mainlanguage[cz] \enableregime[cp1250] \starttext AAA \startluacode local t = dofile("t.lua") context(t) \stopluacode \stoptext --- - And the t.lua: --- -- return "111" -- This worked OK return "žšč" -- This is problem for Ctx --- When I try the t.lua from Win console by "Lua -e dofile('t.lua')", there is no problem. When I run the Ctx file, it has problem processing characters with diacritics (like "čřž..."); the t.lua is not encoded in UTF-8 (which seems to be supposed by Ctx-Lua), but I'm using the cp1250 code page + each character = 1 B. Simple document with hyperlinks

Hello, I'm not able to create a document with working hyperlinks in ConTeXt. The document attached was created in LaTeX - and I'd like to create a similar one in ConTeXt: --- \documentclass{article} \usepackage{hyperref} \begin{document} This a~label.\label{a-label} \newpage This is \hyperlink{a-label}{a ref to it}. \end{document} --- The document: - Should be a "print version" (A4 portrait), but with working hyperlinks. - I don't need to refer to any section, chapter, page etc. I need to create an "anchor", a named "point" in the document, and than to refer to it. - It's not important whether the "clickable" area is framed (default in LaTeX) or green (which seems to me to be default in ConTeXt; guessing by the last contextref.pdf) or highlighted another way. It's just necessary to be working and good if it also changes the default cursor appearance from caret to e.g. "go to hand". I believe it's too easy but - how to do it in ConTeXt? Lukas

Well, I resolved the ruby issue. After playing around with a minimal example, I noticed that \usemodule[tikz] was causing all the trouble when trying to load the environment. Not knowing what was wrong I've now updated to texlive '10 and everything works as expected, including tikz. Thank you for your patience.

Pound sign £ output as italic dollar sign [urgent]

Hello, I was just about to send my book to press when I noticed the '£' appears in my PDF as an italic dollar sign. I looked it up in the archive and google. Have tried \pound and \sterling -- nothing seems to work. It's very strange, when I output the chapter's product separately from the project the £ appears as expected. When I generate the project it appears as italic $. I'm using ConTeXt ver: 2010.10.19 23:03 MKII fmt: 2010.10.20 int: english/english with TeXLive 2010 on MacOS X 10.6. And I have the following in my environment file: \language[en] \mainlanguage[en] \enableregime[utf-8] I'm using TeX Gyre fonts. Any ideas? TIA, Elliot

in my example I have set the numbers in the margin. In fact of using the twoside layout I get the numbers only for odd pages in the margin. Is this also possible for the even pages, just like "header 1.2" instead of "1.2 header"? Thoughts about counters

Dear ConTeXtuals, Following up on my previous question regarding "Custom enumeration" (see ntg-context Digest, Vol 76, Issue 71), I penned down a few thoughts about counters. The product and project files are, with the exception of name changes, copied almost straight from the documentation; all files compile fine if the three lines above are commented out. Sorry to keep going on about this, but trying to load the project/environment with either of \project myproject \environment myenvironment in the component (directly after \startcomponent) gives me an error. In the documentation I found \setupitemgroup, \setupitemize and in the list of all commands \setupitems. I didn't find any example for the \setupitems. However, I can set all parameters with the other two commands. So the question is: when do I need \setupitems and has someone a working example? Herbert

Caption textcommand option

Hi Hans and all, Would it be possible to add an options to the captions with name textcommand to typeset the caption text only. In French, we use a point at the end of the captions, but if I want to use \about... somewhere, I end up with the dot too, which I don't want. Currently I have changed, rather crudely, the definition of \putcompletecaption... to take that into account. Thank you, Arthur and Mojca, for your quick and clear response. It is probably not worth bothering for this particular machine. I have access to the minimals on several other Macs (including a much older, not to say ancient PowerMac G4, also on Tiger). So I'm not particularly needy in this respect. I rescued this iBook from a garbage dump, in fact there were two of them, both defect, from which I have been able to make one working machine, and I just thought that it would have been nice to have ConTeXt-minimals on it. But it is puzzling. I never had any problems with two other PPC Macs, so what makes this one essentially different? (No answer needed.) Best regards, Robert Blackstone

Failure to Install minimals on iBook G3

Hello, I tried in vain to install the minimals on an old (2003) but still functional iBook G3, running under OSX 10.4.11. After having received some 4MB, I get the message: "dyld: incompatible cpu-subtype" plus a reference to line 103 of first-setup.sh. Does anybody on this list know what could be done about this. Btw, this iBook can handle TeX and ConTeXt. I installed MacTeX 2009 and everything works. But I would prefer the minimals. Thanks in advance. Robert Blackstone

Dear Sirs, I have a problem with displaying some special characters from the AMS Symbol-fontset, e.g. \blacksquare, \blacktriangle, ... The symbols are displayed under MkII but not under MkIV. (MkII and MkIV-version: 2010.05.24) The symbols are defined in "math-ent.lua", but how can I call this file to show the missing symbols? Is it possible to make a link to the now-non-existing Module "amsl" so I can use old ConTeXt-documents without changes? Thanks for your help Bernd Kosubek

Dear Sirs, I have trouble with \setuplayout[location=duplex] and \setuplayout[marking=color] (MkII-version: 2010.05.24 / MkIV-version: dito) A modified sample (from the ConTeXt-documentation "cont-en.pdf", section 1.6) will show the problem: \setuppapersize[B5][A4] \setuplayout[location=duplex,marking=color] \setuppagenumbering[alternative=doublesided] \starttext page 1 \page page 2 \page page 3 \page page 4 \stoptext The result are 4 pages on the left upper corner (--> odd pages) (MkII and(!) MkIV). instead of upper right/upper left (pages 1 and 2) upper right/upper left (pages 3 and 4). The option location={duplex,left} gives the same results. The color-bars are only displayed at MkIV, with MkII only the cropmarks are shown. Can anybody help me with the duplex option in MkiII and MkIV and getting color-bars in MkII? problem with t-filter/t-vim

Hi Adityam, I am using the t-filter/t-vim module, and got stuck with two problems with it. 1. everything works fine if there is only one \definevimtyping declaration. However, if i declare two of them, as in the following: %%%%%%% \definevimtyping[PythonCode][syntax=python] \definevimtyping[CPPCode][syntax=cpp] \startPythonCode ... % Code A \stopPythonCode \startPythonCode ... % Code B \stopPythonCode %%%%%%% The counter for the temporary files is never incremented. So there is only "jobname-externalfilter-PythonCode-0.tmp" in the directory. Consequently, Code B appears twice in the produced PDF, while Code A never appears. 2. Every line in the Python code becomes a new paragraph in ConTeXt. I wonder if this could be changed. I am using \setupwitespace[line], so the spacing between two lines of source is too large. What is the replacement for the 'stop_run' callback?

Hi All, I'm trying to update a ConTeXt module of mine. It does some data gathering during the ConTeXt run, and then processes it after the run is complete. This used to work last year: local id, err = callback.register('stop_run', new_stop_run_function) But now err is set to "callback 'stop_run' is frozen (actions performed at the end of a run)". I see from the mailing list archive that registering user callbacks was disallowed in February of this year (2010). I also saw some advice for installing other new user processing (like 'pre_linebreak_filter'), but no general advice for adapting to the lack of callbacks. Trouble with ConTeXt's project structure

It seems as if context first typesets the project file without going down inside the products again, before typesetting the originally called project. When I translate one of the component files, lets say c_editorial.tex, I get "Contents", "Editorial" instead of just one page "Editorial". Again, it seems as if context first looks inside the project file (without going down) and only then typesets the component. Another case, same problem. If I drop the "product", i.e. I only have a project file including several components, the individual component files and an environment file, kind of the same problems appear. Translating the project file works well. Translating the component file c_editorial.tex results in a PDF with 4 pages (instead of one with "Editorial"): "Editorial", "First Article", "Contents", "Editorial". Context puts the whole project in the PDF and appends the component c_editorial... All this seems very strange to me, especially since a friend told me project structure works pretty well in his projects. I tested on two different machines (Windows Vista and Linux). Hi all, I'm looking for a way to use pictures inside a tabulate environment. Unfortunately, newer versions of ConTeXt don't take the picture height into account. Hi, In MkII, I can say \ReadFile{/tmp/filename} to read a file in /tmp directory. However, in MkIV, that fails because ReadFile is defined as \unexpanded\def\ReadFile #1{\doreadfile{any} {.}{#1}\donothing\donothing} so it explicitly searches in the . (current) directory. Bug or feature? Aditya

You may assume that the audience already knows (La)TeX. :-) The first use would be at OpenRheinRuhr in November. Thank you, it's almost working. I am making use of projects, products, environments and components. My \usemodule[ruby] sits in my environment file, but I'm using the \ruby command down in the component file. The environment is only called in the project file, but the component links back to the product (with \product - I guess that's how you do it?) and the product back to the project. The error occurs, no matter at which level (project/product/component) I am compiling. Do I really need to call the module in each component? I thought the component should trace back to the higher levels to find which modules to load... Hi, using the latest beta, I've had a bunch of problems using enumerations in mkiv. Earlier betas have had the same problems. How do I recover this behaviour? 2. I want the "theorem" enumeration to share its number with the "definition" environment. That doesn't seem to work. Outside of any section, the theorem just doesn't have any number. Inside a section, the theorem very oddly displays the section number. 3. I want the "proof" enumeration to have no number. That doesn't work inside a section. As for the "theorem" enumeration, the section number is printed even though here i requested no number at all! 4. Suppressing the number for a specific enumeration using the [-] switch doesn't work. As before, inside a section, the section number appears instead of no number. 5. Citing a specific theorem using \in{theorem}[thm:pnp] doesn't show the number of a theorem. I'm guessing the last four points are all related. Best regards, Mathieu

How to set the caption length?

When a figure is placed, but this figure size is much smaller than the textwidth, the caption length will adjust after the figure size. \placefigure [][fig:xxx] {xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx} {\externalfigure[xxx]} when set the figure size to an arbitrary size, the caption length will also change. But what I expect is, i change the figure size, but the caption size is always the textwith, or i can set it arbitrarily, for example 90% of the text size. I know it should be very easy, but honestly, i do not know.

Hi, I am a PhD student and am starting on writing my thesis. I have looked at Aditya's and The Thanh's thesis, and they are very nice. Unfortunately, I could not find the sources for these. Does anybody know if they are available somewhere? It would be nice to have them on the wiki. The problems that I faced were related to placement of table of contents, references, figures and fonts. I also found that quite a lot of information is available on the wiki and at Pragma, but it is not organised well and needs rather large amount of time investment (both of which may be due to my ignorance). Is it possible to pass unmarked paragraphs into Lua for processing

Hi all, I am wondering if and how it might be possible to catch all unmarked paragraphs in a TeX file and pass them into Lua. So, in the following example, each of the first three unmarked paragraphs would be passed to the Lua function "process_paragraph" for optional processing, but the fourth paragraph between \startmarkedparagraph...\stopmarkedparagraph would not be passed to "process_paragraph". I want the Lua function to be able to eat each of the first three unmarked paragraphs and optionally write some processed version back out to be typeset, but there should be the possibility that none of the paragraphs are typeset at all. In the latter case that no text is to be typeset at all, is there a way to prevent ConTeXt/LuaTeX from creating an empty PDF? \startluacode def process_paragragh (par) -- Some magic here... -- Maybe a context (processed_par) to typeset the processed paragraph... end \stopluacode \starttext Thus, I came to the conclusion that the designer of a new system must not only be the implementer and first large||scale user; the designer should also write the first user manual. \startitemize \item One \item Two \item Three \stopitemize The separation of any of these four components would have hurt \TeX\ significantly. Problem with \date command

Hi all, Today I wanted to use the command "\date[d=15,m=10,y=2010][weekday]". It gives "Friday" as it should. However "\date[d=2,m=1,y=2011][weekday]" gives the same result which is wrong (it's a Sunday). In fact, whatever the supplied date, it gives "Friday". I guess the parameter isn't taken into account here. Bug or feature? -- Cédric

Hi, in BibTeX databases ranges of numbers are usually listed with a single dash (e.g. 3-7) for compatibility reasons. Therefore the standard BibTeX styles convert a single dash in page numbers or range of numbers to a double dash (3--7). Access figure data?

Is there any way to get access to the data about external figures? I would like to know the pixel height/width of the actual image. [I am trying to typeset a mass of html-based documents with images using a series of scripts. The images need to be positioned somewhat like they would be on the screen. Titles that spill out

Here is a simple section header. It runs way out of the margin. Any idea why? I do not want hyphenation. Words that run over the boundary should be skipped to the next line down. Why does it not do that here? Hi all, I just discovered that the windows pcs in the library have certain adobe stuff installed that comes with a neat collection of adobe fonts. So I thought I’d want to use them in context and prepared a minimals for windows on a usb stick using wine. I haven’t used windows in ages so I’d like to ask some questions before I actually start testing. 1. Why is there an mtxrun.exe binary in addition to the lua script? 2. How large will texmf-cache grow when all the fonts from an indesign installation are indexed (it’s a small stick and context resides next to a linux on it)? 3. Anything I should be aware of where windows context behaves differently from linux? structure sanity checks

Using \startchapter\stopchapter or \startitem\stopitem could present some logical advantage over the use of \chapter or \item, for example. However, it would be useful to have some sort of sanity check giving warnings at least if the \start\stop symmetry is violated. As a minimal example, the following simple case of one logical error leads to an undesired result. Of course, you get what you asked, but some sort of warning could be useful. Or, rather, is the general philosophy to silently pass over such errors so as not to load down the log in the face of such user errors? Indeed, under ConTeXt, unknown or incorrect arguments are simply ignored. The numbering of these exercises should reflect both part and chapter information, but \defineenumeration does not allow me to write my own custom command for this (unlike \setuphead). Am I missing something, or is there another solution? Although the inline Ctx code is (or seems to be) the same as generated by Lua, I cannot understand why the red line is drawn on the left and not centered. I guess I could call something like "\setuppapersize[A4][A4]" at the place of "RESTORE ORIGINAL PAGE SETTINGS", but I'd rather something independent (now I'd have to suppose that previous page is of A4 format). I'm thinking about like enclosing the \setuppapersize[A4,landscape][A4,landscape] \typefile[Dim]{../../Statics/Dim/Res/Cha-MMax-iDL.txt} into an environment or something. Marginal heads and non-text sections

I'm having trouble understanding space inserted around itemize and TABLE objects. I found some great advice from the mailing list archives, and managed to cobble together a setup that *almost* works. Now I have only two problems. I welcome any help. First: In the example below, the word "monkey" creates no vertical space---even if it's commented out, there's no change in the space between "Title" and "alpha". I'd like to tighten that space up---I've been resorting to \vskip{-10ex}, but surely there's a way to not put that space there in the first place. I'm already using packed,intro,joinedup for the itemize in an attempt to shove it as high as possible; is there another way? Second: in the same example, the "Second" subject does not appear. Uncommenting the llama doesn't make any surprising difference (well, it moves the table down, showing that tables don't have the space-filling property of itemizes), but uncommenting the apricot does cause the "Second" subject to appear. How can I force the "Second" subject to appear next to the table? Dear all, I find that when there is an error (at least, "undefined control sequence") in a file included using \component, the supposedly erroneous lines printed are from the calling file, not the file where the error actually is (although the line number seems correct, and there are clues where the error really lies). Minimal example ... file1.tex: \startproduct file1 \starttext Bla bla bla. Bla bla bla. Bla bla bla. \component file2 \stoptext \stopproduct file2.tex: \startcomponent file2 Bleh bleh bleh. Headers must not be the last object on the page

I'm getting headers as the last item on a page. Following content appears on the next page. I would like to have headers not be separated from their content by a page break. Is there a way to say "if a header is the last thing on the page, place it on the next page instead"? I am aware of the "before={\testpage[n]\blank}" trick, but this only applies when you need a specific amount of lines. Because the following content may be a figure, float, table, or other large object, the space required will vary. I just want the header to know that it must not be the last object on the page. Is this possible? Thank you very much for your help.

In fact, I'd like to be able to something even more tricky: I would like to be able to prepare a "teacher's version" and a "student's version" of a problem set. Question for wiki authors

Hi, As you may know, Patrick and I are constantly reviewing the edits on the wiki to filter out bad people(tm). In doing so, it is not always immediately obvious who is doing what because the 'recent changes' list quite often does not contain a useful summary message. This is understandable, but it would really help if everybody would at least put something in the Summary field. On a related note: I think it would be nice if the people that use a wildly different ID on the wiki from their emails on the list could create a short wiki page under their user name so that we can easily make the connection to a 'known person'. This is not a requirement at all, but it would be really handy during administration, so if you do not mind putting such a page up, please do. Thanks, Taco

Hello everybody, Please allow me to introduce a new project: TLContrib. TLContrib is a website + repository that hosts contributed packages for TeX Live 2010. The packages on TLContrib are packages that are not distributed inside TeX Live proper for one or another of following reasons: * because it is not free software according to the Debian guidelines; * because it is a binary update; * because it is not available on CTAN; * because it is an intermediate release for testing. In short, anything TeX-related that can not be on TeX Live but can still legally be distributed over the Internet can have its place on TLContrib. The ultimate goal is to provide a companion to the core TeX Live tlnet distribution in much the same way as Debian's non-free tree is a companion to their normal, 100% free software distribution. The goal is not to replace TeX Live: package and updates that can be part of TeX Live itself should stay (or be added) there. TLContrib is simply trying to fill in a gap in the current distribution system. Quick start: to use TLContrib as a TeX Live repository, point the TeX Live package manager to http://tlcontrib.metatex.org/2010/ For more detailed information, visit the website: http://tlcontrib.metatex.org/ The current version of the website is preliminary, and much can still be improved. Even so, both the website and the repository are fully functional and can be used for both the publication of packages and as a repository source for the TeX Live package manager. Currently included in the repository are: * context 2010.07.30 * the context cow fonts * luatex 0.63.0 (but not yet for all architectures) * metapost 1.502 (also not for all architectures) Currently, there are binary updates for i386-linux, universal-darwin win32, x86_64-darwin, and x86_64-linux. Mojca Miklavec and myself are working hard on providing the missing architectures soon. This announcement is also a call for more contributors: if you are the maintainer of a package that you would like to see distributed but that for one reason or another can not or should not be in the core TeX Live distribution, please consider adding it to TLContrib. Hi, any way to change register entry and subentry separator from "+" to something else? Preferably to kanji character, so I'm sure it will not appear in the text. Entries and subentries are autoflushed, so it can be really anything. Other way around: I substitute "+" with " PLUS " in index terms before writing into the index, but which command is reading the sorted index entries to change it back to "+" when typesetting the sorted index on pages? Hi all, I'm currently experimenting with the TEI schema for critical editions. There's one thing that goes beyond my minimal understanding: for internal references, the guidelines strongly suggest defining them with the xml:id attribute. Let's take the example of a textual witness, which could be defined as <witness xml:id="A">manuscript A</witness> Whenever this witness is referenced, it will be done with a target: <rdg wit="#A">Hello</rdg> How can I catch such targets in my ConTeXt setup? Would it be possible to have the #A translated into a macro \WIT:A or something like that? Would it be possible to have ConTeXt read in the value of the <witness> tag to which the taget refers and typset that? There must be something easier than a huge set of nested \doifelse calls, but I can't quite find what would be the best way. I hope this question isn't too confusing... Thanks, and best Thomas

calling ConTeXt as a background process

Hi together! I'm trying since about a week to get ConTeXt running as a background process of a web application. It's always hanging, and I get no log. "ps axef" shows the call stack: \_ /var/www/xxx/bin/python /var/www/xxx/releases/current/cerebrale/ manage.py runfcgi method=threaded ... \_ /bin/sh -c cd /var/www/xxx/_textemp && /var/opt/context/tex/ texmf-linux-64/bin/context ... \_ /bin/sh /var/opt/context/tex/texmf-linux-64/bin/context -- purgeall --batchmode --result=/var/www/xxx/_textemp/xxx.pdf \_ texlua /var/opt/context/tex/texmf-linux-64/bin/mtxrun --script context --purgeall --batchmode --result=/ ... \_ [uname] <defunct> I.e. it looks like texlua calls uname in a way that lets the process hang forever. If I call the same from an active shell everything runs fine. Also uname alone works in the shell command. Any ideas what I could/should check? I don't think it could be the PATH, since ConTeXt's bin as well as all the system tools are in: PATH=/var/opt/context/tex/texmf-linux-64/bin:/var/www/cerebrale/bin:/ command:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/sbin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/ usr/X11R6/bin TEXMFOS=/var/opt/context/tex/texmf-linux-64 TEXROOT=/var/opt/context/tex The user that runs the server process (incl. sub-shell and ConTeXt) owns all the TeX files and the directory. Maybe it's a Python problem, here's my call: subprocess.Popen(cmd.encode('utf-8'), shell=True, stderr=logfile, stdout=logfile) But I can call several other commands in this way without problems. The whole thing (incl. ConTeXt) works on my Mac (OSX 10.5.8) at home. Everything I call before ConTeXt shows up in the logfile. Greetlings from Lake Constance! Hi all, I mentioned it already but so far I couldn't find a solution. Verbatim typing with numbers inside float

Hi list, I defined a float for typesetting algorithms, so I can reference them at other places in the document. \definefloat[algorithm][algorithms] When I now place such a figure with \placealgorithm[here][alg:myalgorithm]{Very neat algorithm.}{ \starttyping some source code \stoptyping } then the numbering I set up with \setuptyping[numbering=line] \setuplinenumbering[location=text] is gone. Is there a way to get around this? I try to not use itemize for this (although it seems to work with itemize), because I'd rather use the more semantically correct approach. Any help appreciated. Euler font and context minimals

Hi everyone, I'm using ConTeXt for my PhD thesis and as I'm getting sick of writing up I've been trying to tweak the appearance a bit. I'd like to switch to using Palatino font for main body and Euler font for math. I still get the same error messages. I also ran luatools --generate and that doesn't make a difference. I read through the typography and fonts chapters of the manual but I didn't find specific information about installing fonts. Am I doing it right? Wishlist: add interaction to \seeindex Explaination: \seeindex{index_entry}{see_entry} can be used to add entry to an index that refers one to another entry. Example: \seeindex{DNA}{deoxyribonucleic acid} With \setupinteraction [state=start] one gets active hyperlinks on the page numbers of the index entries. It would be nice if \seeindex entries to the index would create an interaction hyperlink to the corresponding real index entry. This is pretty straight-forward, but probably non-trivial to implement, as there is no guarantee that the second entry of \seeindex indeed exists. Of course, \seeindex could create this entry, but it may not have an associated page number or page numbers if \index{deoxyribonucleic acid} was never called. Even more sophisticated, but the bookkeeping on this might get a bit complicated, \index{DNA} could create an index entry under {deoxyribonucleic acid} as \seeindex instructs to "hijack" this label. (currently, it will put "see DNA" followed by a page number.) Alan
