Further investigation suggests that this is a known issue of using \definecolor colours within a Tikz graphic that decided to manifest itself for the first time when I upgraded. The solution is to do: \unprotect \pgfutil@definecolor{colour_name}{rbg/cmyk/gray}{...colour values...} \protect for all the colours that you want to use. Apologies for the noise. Felix

setupheads

Hello all, I've not been able to find the right combination of commands to change my header style. I'd like to have bold, italic (or slanted), plus change the text size. I currently have the following: \setuphead[section][color=header_dark_blue, aligntitle=float] \definehead[newsection][section] \setuphead[newsection] style=\tfd\boldslanted, before=\page, width=120mm, aligntitle=float, after={\blackrule[color=sectionlineblue,width=125mm,height=1pt]}, ] This gives me bold, slanted text but not the size change. Swapping the tfd and boldslanted will change the size but not the style. Can anyone see where I'm going wrong? Felix

Tikz/pgf colour issue

I just upgraded to the latest beta in order to see if that would fix my header styling issue. Compiling gave me the following error: ! Argument of \pgfutil@context@parse@gray has an extra }. This is defined in: tex\texmf-modules\tex\generic\pgf\utilities\pgfutil-context.def If I change the code to the following (basically just comment out the call to \pgfutil@context@parse@gray) then my document will compile again. How to do coloured heads

Hello, I am new to all of this. First of all, thank you to everyone involved for such an awesome software package. I have been looking for something like this for a while for technical documentation for software projects and had no idea this even existed until... well, yesterday. So, I spent most of the day playing with it. However, I have not managed to work out how to get coloured heads. I am trying to have my section heads in darkgray. So I tried \setuphead[section][style=\tfb\ss\color[darkgray]] which results in a processing error and \setuphead[section][style=\tfb\ss{\color[darkgray]}] which seems to process, but does just not do anything (I did not actually expect that last one to work, but I got a bit desperate). While the manual is well written and certain well laid out, it does not quite work for me as a reference guide in that it does not seem to be complete. So a little help would be much appreciated. Math align in mkiv

Hi, is it possible to "enhance" the \index command in order to be more tolerant with wrong set spaces? For example ... This is a test \index{Test} text. ... this would give (legitimately) double spaces between "test" and "text". Migrating from prosper to simpleslides in creating presentations

Hello, I am trying to put aside doing my presentations using prosper, and migrating to using ConTeXt+simpleslides. I ask this knowing full well that many would consider these features as simply adding visual noise to presentations, and normally I too eschew them, but as I am reading Jean-Luc Doumont's book on effective communications I am reminded that the primary purpose of presentations is to affect change in the audience. I am to give a presentation in a few days to a group of designers/interior decorators, and for this audience presentations using these features are both appropriate and often expected. I am looking for the equivalent of transition effects in the prosper class---the simple Wipe transition would suffice; no need for Glitter ;). The other feature that I would like is the incremental displaying of a slide, i.e., the \overlays feature. I solved the problem myself: First I used \showstruts to se struts - and only before and after the first line there were struts. Then I added the following argument into the \setlayerframed: strut=no \setlayerframed [Kontaktdaten] [ width=80mm, height=180mm, hoffset=50mm, voffset=50mm, frame=on, align=right, strut=no] {\FontKlein\setupinterlinespace[8pt] Ich bin Blindtext ...} I don't understand this problem with the strut but I solved it :-) Regards Jannis

Interlinespace in layers

Hello, I am struggling with interlinespace and layers. With the help of this mailinglist I managed to use layers and to format the text in the layers. There is only one error I can't get rid of: before and after the first line of my text in a layer there ist a bigger space. In all the other lines of the text the interlinespace is ok. Saving module data in tuc file

Hi, How does one save and read third-party data in tuc file at the lua end? I am trying to write a module t-ifchanged that defines a \doiffilechanged macro that provides the functionality of mtxrun --ifchanged without calling an external program (This is meant to be a support module for t-vim, where the external calls to mtxrun are too time consuming). I can successfully write additional data to the tuc file, but cannot figure out how to initialize the data from tuc file. (See attached file). Any hints are welcome. Aditya

issue with logo and aalt

Hi there, the following minimal sample shows one problem I have when using all small caps (all lowercase and small caps) in titles. \setuppapersize[A4,landscape] \setuppagenumbering[location=] \usemodule[simplefonts][size=200pt] \setmainfont[TeX Gyre Pagella] \definefontfeature[allcaps][default][aalt=yes] \starttext \TeX \addfs{allcaps} \TeX \stoptext The logo in small caps has the letter E than in the all caps. My question is how should I redefine the TeX logo so that the all small caps version, i.e. that both logos have the letter E at the same height? (Otherwise, the all small caps logo seems weird.) Title page for diploma thesis

Dear ConTeXt folks, I am trying to format the title page for a diploma thesis. Is using `\blank` the recommended way to format the page? Or is using boxes and placing them manually “better”? 2. Looking at the output it is not centered exactly and a little bit to the left. Why is this the default? Does anyone know? Looking at the manual [2] in chapter page design (p. 29, screen version) this seems to be the backspace value. Is there an easy way to center it according to the whole paper width? Additionally I would have guessed it to be more on the right when glueing or trussing up(?) (German binden) the pages. Word-wrap/hyphenation with very large font size not working consistently

I am trying to typeset some signs for a construction site. I enclose a (somewhat contrived) for consideration. What I am having difficulty with is to get word wrap and interline spacing to work consistently. I am using \framed, but if there is a better way please let me know. The trouble I am having is getting lines to break consistently. Sometimes they do, but as in this case the second word `through' continues beyond the frame width. You may also try to substitute the text ``Enter this way today'', another contrived example to see the effect. The symbol font that I am using is Symbol-Signs from: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/Symbol-Signs but I shouldn't think that is pertinent to the problem. Any guidance on what is the issue here? Or if there is a better way to go about doing this type of signage. I am also interested in learning how to do vertical centering of blocks of text, i.e., in a formal letter or in this case of setting text for signs. I have read and tried to understand Wolfgang's response to Jaroslav's earlier enquiry: http://archive.contextgarden.net/message/20100702.112805.07aa71e2.en.html but I really don't understand it and how to make it work for my applications. Define `\luatexversion` similar to `\contextversion`

Dear ConTeXt folks, thanks to Robin’s example documents I found out about the following last two commands \Context\ \contextmark\ \contextversion allowing to put the used components and versions into the document. Then I found `\luaversion` to display the version of Lua. But I could not find `\luatexversion`. Is there something similar? Can this command be defined? Thanks, Paul

Is it impossible to typeset displaylines in textext called inside metapost? terrible png placement

Something terrible must be done to png pictures, either in ConTeXt or in luatex. I have the following minimal sample code and picture. I include the png for those who want to check. % Test png addition. \starttext Place png figure.\par \placefigure{Test figure}{\externalfigure[test.png]} \stoptext Without the png-picture it makes an 8KB pdf. But with the png-picture the pdf swells to 1.8MB. And that for a png-picture of only 48KB. Moreover making a zip of all this stuff brought the size back to 110KB. In the log: ConTeXt ver: 2011.11.04 14:15 MKIV fmt: 2011.11.10 int: english/english mkiv lua stats > graphics processing time - 0.001 seconds including tex, 1 processed images What is done with the png and can it be remedied? I hope this does not open another thread with the same name, but I did not find a way to respond directly within the archive--something else I am missing or will ntg find the reference? Here it goes... Thank you for response luigi. The story: OS = Windows7 professional I also have MikTeX installed which I use routinely for pdfLaTeX and METAPOST from TeXworks download context-setup-mswin.zip<http://minimals.contextgarden.net/setup/context-setup-mswin.zip> from the wiki unzip to C:\context run from shell C:\context>first-setup.bat --modules=all add to PATH C:\context\tex\texmf-mswin\bin\ run from shell C:\context>first-setup.bat --keep Then create tex file \starttext Hello world \stopptext in different location. Navigate shell to that location and >context firstfile.tex Result is message context: The Lua script is not registered. context: Data: context Aha! I tried moving firstfile.tex into C:\context and then run and it works, but takes 11.62 seconds--not so good. However, I still get Lua script not registered when I try to run from other file locations, which makes me think it is PATH problem that I will continue to chase but if anything looks obvious please help. --johnk

Formatting footnote numbers (in text)

I'm new to ConTeXt, but I have searched for this myself... I'm trying to format the footnote numbers that appear in the text of my documents. I've used this to change them from being blue (there may be a better way-- I am generating PDFs for print, so don't need the hyperlinks) using the following: \setupinteraction[state=start,color=black,contrastcolor=black] Is this where I would control other formatting (size, face, format)? Can anyone provide or point to an example of formatting footnote numbers in text area of a doc? c -- Chris Lott

no color with interaction and reference format

Hi list, when I am using reference formats to put text in front of my text references, I get no color. Please see the following minimal example \setupinteraction[state=start] \definereferenceformat[insec][text=section~] \starttext \section[mylabel]{A Section} A Reference to \in{section}[mylabel] and \insec[mylabel]. \stoptext On my machine only the first reference is red (aka colored), but I think both should be, as it was some betas ago. Lua script not registered

Hello. Trying to make my first doc with ConTeXt (Win7, standalone install) I get the error: context: The Lua script is not registered context: Data: context and I am taken back to the command prompt. Nothing is produced. Any ideas? What did I overlook? After `texing otherwise for years I am really looking forward to diving into ConTeXt. Thanks, John

I have escaped the '#' character in the usual way, using a backslash, as '\#' in a btex...etex picture as part of a MetaPost figure created within a ConTeXt document, but the escaped character still causes the ConTeXt processing to fail. Instead of the mathfont'a italics I would like to try an upright typeface. See for example the P.p on the left of the sample, 1-p in the second \pmatrix and the toprow in the last one. How can I do this globally, there by avoiding avoiding the need to sprinkle \mathrm's all around as in: \pmatrix{\mathrm p\cr\mathrm 1-p\cr}. A single \mathrm in front as not enough for the matrices. Can someone give me a short explanation of the difference between the various metapost "enclosures" in MetaFun? such as \startMPpage-\stopMPpage, \startMPcode-\stopMPcode? I am on the lookout for a setup in which textext can be used and where the figure comes out clipped, i.e. not contained in a full page with lots of surrounding whitespace. Hello, what is the proper way of using MetaPost with TeX text? I have two examples: beginfig(1); draw unitsquare scaled(1cm); draw textext("$\pi$") shifted((0.5,0.5)*cm); % label(btex $\pi$ etex, origin); endfig; end mptopdf --metafun produces only "unknown" where the Pi symbol should be and when I uncomment label the following problem occurs: Output written on test-temp.dvi (2 pages, 256 bytes). Transcript written on test-temp.log. TeXExec | runtime: 0.16436 This is MetaPost, version 1.504 (kpathsea version 6.0.0) mpost: Not writing to .log (openout_any = p). ! I can't write on file `.log'. Please type another transcript file name: ... !pdfTeX error: pdftex (file lmmi12): Font lmmi12 at 600 not found ==> Fatal error occurred, no output PDF file produced! Splitting natural tables

Hello, is it still not possible to split a table so that it covers one half page an then another half page? It is my understanding that splitting moves the table to the next page and then splits it to the following if it gets too long for one entire page. Would a "manual split" be possible? Math in metapost

I would like to put some math in metapost pictures. For the moment I am using textext for the typesetting in my metapost macro: pic := textext("\setbox0=\hbox{\color["&textcolor&"]"&labeltext&"}\dp0=0pt\box0"); picture pic will be placed in the metapost figure. Simple math like $p=2$ works fine, but the system chokes on something like the following matrix: $\pmatrix{p_{0|0}\cr}$ (it does fine in ConTeXt itself). The error is: ! Only one # is allowed per tab. system > tex > error on line 6 in file Info/kanaalmatrix.tex: Only one # is allowed per tab ... Perhaps I am too optimistic about textext's possibilities. But how can I accomplish the placement of these and more elaborate formulae in metapost pictures using ConTeXt? Hi I've been playing about with Export in Context with a view to producing ePubs. When I run the script: /mtxrun --script epub --make test.specification /the test.tree is prepared but no epub file. The output shown below has a couple or 'error' messages which are probably due to the way my text editor is set up (Scite Version 2.02). Hi again, I’d like to get my page numbers in the margin. This works: \setuppagenumbering[alternative=doublesided,location=margin] But that way it’s on the bottom of the footer margin; I'd like it on the top. Second variant: Even better, I’d like my page number at the bottom of the text margin. Hi all, in my project I use an environment with lua-code, xml-setups and some other definitions and settings. Is there an simple way to get an output of the TeX-Stream, which will be used to generate the PDF? context terminal now in gnuplot's CVS

Hello, After 5 years (actually almost 6 - the first t-gnuplot.tex code has been sent to me by Peter Münster on 2nd January 2006) gnuplot developers finally included context terminal into their CVS repository today. (temporary link, but probably slightly more clear than linking to CVS repository) https://github.com/gnuplot/gnuplot-new/commit/62737451bb138f0e679b5a57e0042… The release of gnuplot 4.4.4 was initially planned for around October, which means that it should probably be out sometime soon. mptopdf missing

I have a fresh installation of ConTeXt on Ubuntu 11.10, straight from Ubuntu's repository (version 2011.05.18.20110627-1) but the mptopdf script seems to be missing, and mtxrun doesn't show any available scripts. What could be the problem? Unnumbered chapters (titles) etc in TOC

Hi, I tried this: \definecombinedlist[content][chapter,title,subject,section] \setuphead[title,subject][incrementnumber=list] \starttext \placecontent \title{Unnumbered chapter} \subject{First} \subject{Second} \chapter{Numbered chapter} \section{Third} \section{Fourth} \stoptext and I have a few questions. 1. If I replace \definecombinedlist with \setupcombinedlist (which seems natural, given that "content" is already defined), it stops working; why? 2. The \setuphead line seem to be necessary; why? 3. Too much space in fractions

Dear list, With \starttext $a/b$ and $1/2$ \stoptext I get too much space between a and /, and betwen / and b (and between 1 and /, and between / and 2). This was not so in earlier versions of ConTeXt (not sure when it first appeared). Is there some option I should change or is it a bug? starting cambria font?

Maybe someone more knowledgeable about fonts can tell what is amiss. I typeset my documents in Lucida Bright with Lucida Math from the old pfb's (the orf version not being available). But there are some gaps in Lucida's math fonts and its implementation in ConTeXt. So I started to switch to another one, at least for the time being, and thought cambria would be the one as I have seen some people on this list about it. But changing t{lucida,sans,12pt} to {cambria,sans,12pt} doesn't work for me. I get an error: ! FLOW chart module broken

Hi Hans, unfortunately the FLOWchart module is broken. The breaking over pages does not seem to work. Resetting references or local references?

Graphics in text-line

Dear list, Would it be possible to insert a tiny graphic, not larger than a capital M, into a textline? I am presently making a bilingual version of a sixteenth century French musical treatise, and I would like to copy as much as possible the typographic features of the original in the modern version, both French and a translation. In the original French edition some text lines contain musical symbols, not only the sharp, flat and natural characters but also some others, of which I can make graphics (png or pdf). I can place these praphics in the margin and even in a footnote (although with rather too much space above it) but I would prefer to have them in their text line. Is that doable? Thanks in advance. strange behavior with apa and apa-fr bibliographic styles

Hello, I have noticed that, for a reason I don't understand, dots after dates in the bibliography are not placed in the same manner. For example, I get (copy-paste from pdf) : Morales, I. (1997) . The mexican crisis and the weakness of the NAFTA consensus. Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, 550 :130-152. Morales, I.(1999). NAFTA : The governance of economic openness. Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, 565 :35-65. Robey, J. S. (1999) . Civil society and NAFTA : Initial results. Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, 565 :113-125. Totman, C. (1980) . From Sakoku to Kaikoku. The Transformation of Forei- gn-Policy Attitudes, 1853-1868. Monumenta Nipponica, 35(1) :1-19. So for the first entry, the point after (1997) is placed after a space, whereas it is not the case for the second entry (there is also no space between I. and (1999)). In some cases (when I add more entries), I even have the point before the parenthesis, though the bib file might be right (or in any cases, since the field are completed in the same manner, I didn't expected different behaviors in the result since it is automatized and all fields are articles). Point 3, yes, but I'm dubious about space after ° for the temperature units °C or °F as it breaks the rule about unit ambiguity ("° C" is a degree-Coulomb -- although I can't image a physical situation that would need such a unit). Point 4 is a bit beyond the scope of the SI units scheme but sounds like a potential need. captions trouble

Something seems amiss in the code below. The idea is having in general figures with numbered labels, but now and then a figure without. First I thought to use [location=none] on the placement, but then the numbering is not interrupted: label-1 (label-2 invisible), label-3. That is disturbing to the reader who will think a figure is missing. The numbering and the label are suppressed by \setupcations[number=no] and reinstated with \setupcaptions[number=yes]. But this kills the space between the label and the caption. I enclose a minimal example that shows the effect. Feature request: criterium=component

Dear inner circle, I have two components, each a book in its own right, and each with multiple \part's, \chapter's, \section's etc. Through products and components I have all crossreferences between the two books set up, thanks to the mechanisms put in place this fall by Hans. I compile both components through the product file. Problem: I cannot separate the list of Tables in component~1 from those in component~2. So a list of Tables in component~1 contains the tables in component~ and vice versa. For TOC I was able to get around this by defining, for component~2, mirror section heads with different names but identical functionality to those in component~1. But for tables I have not been able to get this work-around to work: http://archive.contextgarden.net/message/20111124.203204.79333c77.en.html So, in any case, it sames that adding a criterium=component option would be the most user-friendly way to handle this kind of case. Is it feasible? Change the gap between image and caption

Hello ConTeXt folks. Is it possible to adjust the size of the gap between the lower edge of the picture and its caption in simple externalfigure command? By experimenting I found that this gap can be set in a floating environment (placefigure) using "inbetween" parameter. Is there possibilities do gap somehow larger or smaller in externalfigure environment? See minimal example. interaction?

I have troubles with interaction in a screen document. (1) I took the example from the wiki: \setuppapersize[A6][A6] \setupinteraction[state=start] \setupreferencing[interaction=all] \starttext Reference is here <\reference[label:1]{Some text}> \page[yes] % Insert page break Link to \goto{some text elsewhere}[label:1]. \stoptext Although the link on page-2 brings me to page_1, the contents of {Some text} has completely disappeared. Why is this? What is the essence of having this argument if it is not displayed? (2) Transfering this code to a more complex document containing other references, to figures, tables etc. makes the action disappear! Clicking then does nothing, although the links to the figures and tables can be used. The link works when the code above is placed BEFORE \completecontent. But becomes incative when put BEHIND it. The index however has links transferring to the various part of the3 document. Please can some enlighten me? Why are links through \placefigure, \placetable alive and those with \reference-\goto are not? Hans van der Meer

two column itemize page breaking

Occasionally when I use a two column itemize like \startitemize[n,a,columns,two] \item some text\column \item some more text \stopitemize near the bottom of a page, the second column item gets sent to the next page but the first column item stays on the current page. This is peculiar since they should "stay together". I would appreciate any advice on how to solve this problem. Thanks, Troy Henderson

Text in a box now broken

Hey folks, I noticed as of maybe a week ago, that all of the text I have positioned inside of a box has disappeared. I can see everything else, as before, but not the stuff in the box. The box just shows up as a mangled line. The following is a minimal example from ConTeXt version 2011.11.17 09:18. How do I create combinations without any vertical space? Hello again, I'm working on a 2-column layout for a journal, and I want to keep the title and abstract of each article from running across the full width of the page (a small graphic will appear in the upper right corner of the first article page). Hans, This didn't quite achieve what I was looking for. I was hoping for the formatting of circuit 4 in the output file test.pdf, rather than what was produced for circuit 8. I modified the definition of \spare so that by default a 15A breaker is assumed unless otherwise specified. However, a more pressing problem is this: If I remove the comments from the row previous, i.e., I have two rows for which I want nr=2, I get the strange artifact in test+.pdf where the second row gets wrapped up a row. Even with the comments in place, the last row is single height. Bug with location=nonumber

Hi, Consider the following test file \starttext \startplacefigure[location={here,nonumber}, title=none] test \stopplacefigure \startplacefigure[location={here,nonumber}, title={test}] test \stopplacefigure \stoptext The title of the second figure is displayed. The "bug" is because I have used location=nonumber in the first figure. If I remove `nonumber` from the first figure and use \startplacefigure[location=here, title=none] then the title of the second figure is displayed. Aditya

Metapost graphics in separate file, help needed

Dear List, I am experiencing a strange problem. I have a project, essentially with the following structure (desperate attempt to keep track of my stuff): mainfile.mkiv: % BOF ...lots of setups and settings... \starttext \input metapostgraphics.mkiv \input chapter1.mkiv \input chapter2.mkiv \input chapter3.mkiv \stoptext % EOF I generate the PDF with 'context mainfile.mkiv' So far for the structure. Now my problem: metapostgraphics.mkiv contains several (4) metapost graphics with \startuseMPgraphics{nameX} ... \stopuseMPgraphics. In chapter2.mkiv I want to use them with \useMPgraphics{nameX}. It worked well until today, when I added a fifth graphic. Then I suddenly get a frame with 'undefined' inside instead of the picture. I tried everything, checked for typos, tried different names, double checked the MP-code etc. but to no avail. It only works if I put the exact same MP-code between \startMPcode \stopMPcode directly in the chapter2.mkiv What is wrong here? Am I missing something? Did I get the input mechanism all wrong?

Hi, I was looking for a possibility to typeset an article left in the original language and right in the translation.I found then the mail of Thomas, when he announced the availability of streams (2006). - Great, that is what I am looking for! However when issuing \usemodule[streams] I get immediately a fatal error: undefined controlsequence. I believe is \defineoutputstream. So it looks like the module is broken. - Is there another approach to get two texts in different languages next to each other? Kind regards Willi

equation numbering

ConTeXt still has some mysteries for me ;-) This time it is the equationnumbering. Doing \placeformula\startformula..\stopformula gives the equation a certain number, lets say (1.5). Now I change the call to \placeformula[equ:thisfml]\startformula..\stopformula and the number changes to (1.6). Why is this? What I have in mind is to number all formula consecutively with (chapternumber.1), chapternumber.2) etc. Regardless whether I want to reference some of the equations later on and some can stay without a reference because that is not needed. Nevertheless, the ascending numbering pleases me. Hans van der Meer

Floating picture in margin with no interference with text/sections

Dear list, I use mkiv which was installed today. Two questions. 1) Is it possible to put floating pictures in the margin without locking them in the current section? See the following example: %%% Start example \setuplayout[ rightmargin=5cm, width=fit, ] %\setuphead[section][ %aligntitle=float, %] \starttext \showframe \section{This is a short section} It contains one figure. \placefigure[inright,top][none]{A caption.}{\externalfigure[cow][width=4cm]} \section{This is another short section} It contains the same figure. \placefigure[inright,top][none]{A caption.}{\externalfigure[cow][width=4cm,height=6cm]} \section{This is a third section} \input knuth \stoptext %%% Stop example The result is given by http://tmp.oblandat.se/fig1.pdf If I uncomment (what I thought was the solution) the \setuphead part I get http://tmp.oblandat.se/fig2.pdf which looks better, but not as I want it. I want the sections and the text to look just as if there were no figures at all, and I want the figures to be stacked in the margin, the first one at the top of the margin, and the second one just below the first one. Is this possible? 2) If I really must not want a new page right after a section head (this happens in my long document, but no minimal example is given), is there any penalty or something i can set? Integral limits on wrong place

Dear list, in the latest minimals (downloaded today 15 nov 2011) I get the integral limits placed below and above the integral sign, per default. %%% Example %\setupmathematics[integral=nolimits] \starttext $\int_a^b f(x)\, dx$ \startformula \int_a^b f(x)\, dx. \stopformula \stoptext %%% End of example The result is http://tmp.oblandat.se/integraltest.pdf I'd expect the limits to be placed more to the right. Even if the line \setupmathematics[integral=nolimits] is uncommented (as suggested on the wiki) nothing is improved. Is this something that has changed recently? Bug report: --result switch fails in larger documents

All, Now that I've recovered my latest beta: context.mkiv 2011.11.14 16:17 (thanks Mojca, Hans) I can confirm that the bug still exists as described: On a short test file: context --environment=arabtestI.tex --result=tmp arab-testII.xml success: mtx-context | result renamed to: tmp system | total runtime: 2.839 On a larger file of 54 pages context --environment=svo-tei.tex --result=tmp svoboda_diary.xml failure: mtx-context | fatal error: return code: 1 tmp.pdf not created, but svoboda_diary.pdf is updated instead. Regression error? List correspondence from March with subject '620 pages limit?' seems related. Correspondence ends with "Taco found the bug (thanks!): There is a fix luatex rev. 4093." Thoughts? inactive hyperlink?

There is something with creating hyperlinks I do not understand. Did \setupinteraction[state=start] Situation-1: \placefigure[][reftofigure].. gives me with \in.. a clickable link. Situation-2: \pagereference[reftoplace] (or \textreference, \reference} do give me a link-colored text with \in{txt}[reftoplace] but nothing happens. What in my definition of the link is wrong?
