Can I caption a table without using something that makes it float?

If I use \placetable or startplacetable with location=force it shows up but there is lots of space before and after it, I assume it is because it is a float. Scite and Mac OS

Hello everyone: I don't know if anyone can help me. I have installed the Scite editor on a Mac OS Catalina computer and I cannot configure the editor to work with ConTeXt files. Could someone give me some quick setup instructions? With Windows and Linux I have no problems. Thank you. M. González.

mkiv broken in 2020-12-04 20:21:00 (typo-spa.lua)

sacling isue in lmt_followtext

Hi Hans, I have this sample: \starttext \startMPcode{doublefun} draw lmt_followtext [ text = " ·\input{zapf} ", path = ((12,0)--(32,15)--(50,0)--(45,26)--(64,42) --(40,42)--(32,65)--(24,42)--(0,42)--(0,42) ..(20,26)--(12,0)), autoscaleup = "max", reverse=true, ] xsized TextWidth ; \stopMPcode \stoptext Text doesn’t scale properly (I would say starting with latest from 2020.12.03 19:02). It gets worse with \dorecurse{2}. With current latest (2020.12.04 20:22), each glyph seems to have a different scaling. I even wonder whether all glpyhs are embedded (using \setupbodyfont[dejavu] and \input{aristotle-grc}). But this may be my impression, since random scaling in each glyph might be distorting the glyphs With latest from 2020.12.01 17:52, I get perfect scaling in lmt_followtext. Getting the filename which is being typeset

Hi everyone, I have to typeset a few files which get each an input file named in a certain way. For instance, a file named « myfile.tex » in which another file named « myfile-buffer.tex » is used as an \input file, as in % content of myfile.tex %%%%% \starttext This is a test. \input myfile-buffer.tex \stoptext %%%%% When typesetting « myfile.tex » I wonder whether it is possible to get the name of the file without its suffix, that is to get « myfile », with a command such as \getNameOfCurrentFile and then be able to replace the above snippet by: % desired content of myfile.tex %%%%% \starttext This is a test. \input \getNameOfCurrentFile-buffer.tex \stoptext %%%%% Best regards and thanks for any hint: Otared K.

repeated chapter in LMTX Reference Manual?

Hi Hans, many thanks for your new upload that fixes the issue with scaled external figures. I have just accidentally realized: \startbodymatter \component luametatex-preamble \component luametatex-differences [...] \stopbodymatter \startbackmatter [...] \component luametatex-differences \component luametatex-statistics \stopbackmatter I mean, “Differences with LuaTeX” is the second chapter and the second appendix (sort of) in the “LuaMetaTEX Reference Manual”. \XeTeX\ misbehaving

LMTX ignores figure size

Hi, with latest LMTX, the size (width) of external figures is ignored in floats, while it works outside of floats and with MkIV. It also works with metapost figures (e.g. dum library). \setupexternalfigure[location=default] \starttext \startplacefigure[location=here] \externalfigure[cow][width=2cm] \stopplacefigure \stoptext Hraban

Is anyone having issues with magazines in LMTX?

Hi, list! When I want to compile magazines from source (such as mag-1102,mkiv), LMTX gives weird output (grayish background and misaligned titles). Compilation with MkIV gives normal results. My ConTeXt version is 2020.12.03 19:02. Thank you in advance. Cordially, Jairo :)

Hi pablo, regaring 1) TeX assumes that each character is a variable on math mode.
