Hi, the wiki (https://wiki.contextgarden.net/Font_Switching) currently says: > These quick font switches are meant for changing the font style, alternative, or size of a few words: they do not change the bodyfont, so they don't affect interline spacing or math font sizes. However, it is fine to use them as style directives in setup commands, that is, using them as an option for style=<https://wiki.contextgarden.net/Style_and_Color_Parameters>... in any setup command that accepts style option >From this, I'd infer that a <style=tfx> or <style=\tfx> should change the interline spacing as well. But it does not seem to be the case as the example below shows. clubs and widows in columns

Dear list, is there a way to avoid clubs and widows in columns? I don't know, how it would be implemented, if the task is splitting typeset vertical list. \setuppapersize[A7] \starttext \startcolumns[separator=rule, align={right,nothyphenated}] \dorecurse{12}{→ one two three four five\par} \stopcolumns \stoptext For a different task: are there some higher level commands in ctx than \vsplit primitive to play with vbox splitting? profies and fonts in current latest (2021.04.26 00:55)

Dear list, I have the following sample: \setupbackend [format=PDF/A-3a, intent=sRGB IEC61966-2.1, profile={sRGB, default_gray.icc}, level=0] \setuptagging[state=start] \setupcolors[cmyk=no, pagecolormodel=auto] \definefontfamily[mainface][rm][TeX Gyre Heros] \definefontfamily[mainface][tt][Cousine] \setupbodyfont[mainface] \starttext \input zapf \tt\input zapf \stoptext I’m afraid that Acrobat isn’t able to display the fonts and SumatraPDF displays random characters with Cousine, when compiled with current latest (from 2021.04.26 00:55). Previous latest from 2021.04.21 11:39 has no probles with the fonts (either in Acrobat, or in SumatraPDF). Could anyone confirm this issue? Many thanks for your help, Pablo -- http://www.ousia.tk

Bug: missing Lua API in binaries

Dear Devs, Sorry if this is not the best place for reporting bugs. I'm trying to use the lpeglabel library written in C and delivered as lpeglabel.so. $ ls testlabel.lua lpeglabel.so $ cat testlabel.lua require("lpeglabel") The ConTeXt binary cannot load the library because it lacks certain Lua API: $ context --forcecld --permitloadlib testlabel.lua ... fatal lua error: registered function call [1542]: ...tx/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/mkiv/l-package.lua:348: error loading module 'lpeglabel' from file './lpeglabel.so': ./lpeglabel.so: undefined symbol: lua_gettop ... nor does LuaTeX: $ luatex -luaonly testlabel.lua error loading module 'lpeglabel' from file './lpeglabel.so': ./lpeglabel.so: undefined symbol: lua_getiuservalue It seems that lua_gettop and others are optimized out from the `context` binary, while lua_getiuservalue and others are missing from `luatex`. I'm not sure if it works but I would suggest adding `__attribute__ ((used))` to the `LUA_API` macro if the binaries are compiled with gcc. Best, Sylvain

nbsp in XML (S01E01)

Dear list, first episode of series on nbsp of XML in lmtx. Unfortunately, not that catchy as Netflix. Used XML input has two types of non-breakable space: - unicode character - html entitity (in fact an ugly output of HTML editor) HTML is preprocessed with ctx preprocessor (great feature!) and substituted for unicode char nbsp or tilde. MWE shows unichar spaces are non-breakable (see end of the first lines), however they are not stretchable (see second line of the paragraphs). Does unicode nbsp have fixed with in ctx? When tilde is the replacement in preprocessor (uncomment first replacement in preprocessor), xmlfush will display tilde (which is, as character, non-breakable and unstretchable, no surprise). Why tilde is displayed? Replacing or adding nbsp (tilde) with finalizers have different results, see next episode after this one is understood.
