Makempy example rotated

I copied the "E=mc^2" example from the Makempy manual and had an unusual result. The text is rotated by -90 degrees! I tried reducing the scale factor to 5 but it still comes out that way. Is this a FAQ or have I managed to screw something up? -- John Culleton Able Typesetters and Indexers

News for MikTeX hash size limit ?

Hi Giuseppe, Do you have any news for the hash-size limit in MikteX ? There were some update recently but it still doesn't compile my files (see previous mails 2003-04-08). I tried to install TeXlive, and the resulting installation was not very "clean". But my files were compiled. As I should finish to write my thesis in roughtly two months from now, do you think I should forget MikTeX and go on with TeXlive ? Thanks a lot, Seb.

Bug in layer graphics recalculation

It seems that either my ConTeXt installation is bugged or some bug sneaked in some late ConTeXt releases. The background graphics on each page are not recalculated as they should be, but only the first one is taken and set for speciffic layer. Following short example should make it visible: % output=pdftex \usemodule[pre-03] \starttext \TitlePage{How nice} \Topics{This is about ...} \Topic{The first one} \Topic{Another one} \stoptext It's been taken from s-pre-03.tex example code and doesn't work for me with latest beta and release version as well. The darker part of background ellipsis should be moving towards the endpoint on consecutive pages. It doesn't. Any thoughts? /S

\definecolorgroup with gray values

I want to define a colorgroup of gray values, so I tried the following: \definecolorgroup[test][gray] [.1:.1:.1, .2:.2:.2] The result was: ---------------------------------------- ConTeXt ver: 2003.4.29 fmt: 2003.5.8 int: english mes: english ... ! newbie question: greek in ConTeXt?

After using LateX for a while, I became interested in ConTeXt and was immediately fascinated by the ease of use and the logical structure of commands. However, for my job, I need to typeset in ancient Greek (politoniko). There are a couple of packages for LaTeX that can do that (Teubner, psgreek e.g.), but can it be done in ConTeXt? I already stumble whenever I try to set the language to Greek; I get a couple of error messages (I use the standard teTex-distribution on a Mac with OS X 10.2). over normal width tables

Hello, sometimes I need over normal width tables. Is there any equivalent to "\sidewaystable" from LaTeX? If there is no way like "\sidewaystable" could somebody recommend an other solution to place width table? Thanks for every tip, kind regards, Helmut

Calligraphy and Lucida?

Hi, I'd like to use the calligraphic typeface from the lucida set, but using the following setup, I don't get 'em. \setupbodyfontenvironment[default][em=italic] \usetypescript[serif,sans,mono][hanging][pure] \setupalign[hanging] \setupbodyfont[lbr,9pt] \starttext {\cg This should be in the Lucida Calligraphic typeface --- but it isn't} \stoptext Any ideas? I'm running a current ConTeXt. Maarten Don't it ever get lonesome?
