Hi all, Am using the alternative d for my table of contents, i know how to align my elements left (from the left margin) but can't manage to do that at the right side (from the right margin). This is how i configure things: \definelist[part] \setuplist[part][before={\blank[big]},after=\blank] % \definelist[chapter] \setuplist[chapter][alternative=d,margin=2cm,left=(,right=),depth=2cm,before=\blank,after=\blank,style=Opulent] \placecontent[level=chapter] Any help .. Hello, Sorry for being incomplete. Below is an example that generates PDF. You will see the grey boxes with pagenumbers sticking out from the margins. I want them not to stick out, but to move their outer border flush with the outer border of the margin. What doesn't fit in the margin should go into the lower text area.... XeTeX currently doesn't accept or ignore the -translate-file option that Hans has chosen as a default for normal ConTeXt operation. I haven't figured out how to run different "profiles" or configurations within my current installation, so I just edited the following line in /usr/local/ teTeX/share/texmf.local/context/config/texexec.ini [1] from: for tetex set TeXPassString to -progname=context --default-translate- file=cp8bit ...to... for tetex set TeXPassString to -progname=context ... I think that should be enough to set you on your way. I run ConTeXt with both pdfetex and XeTeX under this configuration, and it seems to work well enough (except for a minor warning). I'll add this advice to the wiki, but Hans, Gerben, can you offer advice on how to handle this configuration conflict longer term... we want ConTeXt to work well out of the box, *and* to make it easy for mac users. Yes, JK needs to update XeTeX to handle the -default-translate option better, but there are other reasons for changing texexec.ini as well... Recommended Books on Typesetting

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has any books to recommend, mainly in the area of typesetting, i.e., on TeX, typography, and so on. Personally, I can recommend Donald E. Knuth's "The TeXbook" and also his book on MetaFont. I am thinking of getting "The Complete Manual of Typography" by James Felici, which seems to be a very good book on the subject. thanks, that works now. but do you also know the answer to the second bug: When you uncomment the lines (testfile below) the columnset gets 2 lines shorter! I experienced this when I added before the literature component a catalogue component that uses a structure like the commented lines do. So I had two separate files actually! Hello, As I told before, I want the grey box as defined in the page numbering (see below) to appear with its outer border aligned to the outer border of the outer margin. Right now, it aligns with its inner border to the inner border of the outer margin. I tried with uitlijnen=buiten but without success. Problem with \defintion.

Hi all, I have 2 definitions in my document and every thing compiles until i add a third one, i get the following error: ! I use items with heads etc. but it comes later after my third definition, and the problem appears only after i add a third defintion. Hm ... Any help would be valuable. Thanks in advance. Dirar. PS What does l.312 mean.? I assume it is the line number. Is that right ?

start with XeTeX

Hello Adam et al! I just tried to use XeTeX (installed with Gerben's i-Installer, after that updated ConTeXt) and followed your instructions in the wiki (http://contextgarden.net/XeTeX) but I get always this error: This is pdfeTeX, Version 3.141592-1.20a-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.3) (INITEX) (/Volumes/Silmaril/tex/share/texmf.local/web2c/natural.tcx) output format initialized to DVI entering extended mode !
