Bug in recent math parsing (?)

Hi, I was perusing an update to https://wiki.contextgarden.net/index.php?title=Framed&diff=next&oldid=35583 and noticed that the grey math was not properly aligned on the wiki page. But then I tried it on my system, and, worse yet, I found out that \setuppapersize[A5] \setupcolors[state=start] \def\graymath{\mframed[frame=off, background=color, backgroundcolor=gray, backgroundoffset=3pt]} \starttext \startformula {x^3\over3} - 2 \stopformula \stoptext creates a fraction that I would expect from {x^3\over3 - 2} Is this just my (newly updated) context, or has the year 2025 started off with a \over problem? Wiki update

Hi, Some of you may have noticed that Garulfoo is very busy working on improving the ConTeXt wiki. One of the areas that could be improved: the bitmap images that are generated from <context> tags in the wiki pages. To optimize the effect of the improved image generation, I deleted all the old tex-generated images and cleared the page cache, but clearing the mediawiki page cache does behave a bit erratic at times. Sometimes pages will refuse to auto-regenerate without manual intervention and need a bit of help. If/when you run into a page with "broken image" links, see if ”edit & save” the page without making changes fixes it. Doing so should trigger the regeneration thanks to the code that executes during the “save” step. If the page is still broken after that, please send us a warning at wiki(a)contextgarden.net Best wishes, Taco

[ layout templates ]

I missed the first part of the presentation on the new features in lmtx that seem to provide support for layout templates. Is it possible to define page layouts containing shapes where text can flow into? And can you connect chains of shapes / templates? e.g. define a section to start with a particular template to be continued with a different template for following pages? Where can I find documentation? .Floris

Clip an image with a svg

Dear all, I found this example in the garden. \startMPclip{circleclip} clip currentpicture to fullcircle shifted (.5,.5) xscaled \width yscaled \height ; \stopMPclip \clip[nx=1,ny=1,mp=circleclip]{\externalfigure[hacker.png]} Aside from the fact that I failed to understand the shifted argument by playing around with values, I wonder if it is possible to use a SVG as clip for an image. In my real life use case I want to have a bleeding image at the top or the bottom of the page which can be clipped by the form while size and position of the form relative to the image and relative to the page shall be set by parameters either in \clip or in the definition of the MPclip. How to control specific cells in setupTABLE?

I used this code to create a "logic grid puzzle". See this picture (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Logic_puzzle#/media/File:Logic_grid.png) for how it should appear. I'm having trouble getting the grid to show up right, I made a thicker grid (1pt) to the right of cols 1, 6, 11, and 16, but when rendering the other thinner rules, it creates strange problems, with some cell having thick rules on the bottom too. Additionally, I can't figure how to make the stair-step effect by turning off the borders of some cells. I can't find any instructions in the manual fro how to specify specific cells or a range of cells that won't be getting borders. New Module to write exam

whitespace inside synonym

Hello, I am using the synonym mechanizm to design a glossary for my pupils. I am stuck with this: how can I insert a whitespace inside a synonym definition? What I achieved yet is: \definesynonyms [vocabulaire] [vocabulaire] [\LaDef] \starttext \vocabulaire{Unionpersonnelle}{Deux États sont en union personnelle lorsqu’ils ont le même souverain} \Unionpersonnelle\ \placelistofvocabulaire \stoptext I would like to typeset Union personnelle, without inserting a UTF-8 non breakable space. I tried {{Union personnelle}}, but don't know how may I escape the space in the macro. The answer may lay in lowlevel-macro, but I couldn't find it. Happy new year everyone! Damien Thiriet

with the environment of \startMPcode you can scale a color with a factor like 0.25red and 0.5blue But this not seem to work when you define a color yourself first definecolor [ name = "MyColor", r = .5, g = .25, b = .25 ] ; fill fullsquare xyscaled (40mm, 15mm) withcolor "MyColor" ; fill fullsquare xyscaled (40mm, 15mm) shifted (42mm, 0mm) withcolor 0.5"MyColor" ; What would be the correct way to scale self defined colors? .F
