BibTeX module (convert 'and others' to 'et~al.')

Hi! Is there a possibility to create 'et~al.' in a listed publication in the publication list? In my bbl file there is an entry: \startpublication[k=Assafiri:2003mv,t=article, a={Assafiri et~al.},y=2003, n=49,s=Ass03] \artauthor[]{Y.}[Y.]{}{Assafiri} \artauthor[]{}[]{}{others} \pubyear{2003} \arttitle{{Double $\pi^0$ photoproduction on the proton at GRAAL}} \journal{Phys. Rev. Lett.} \volume{90} \pages{222001} \stoppublication In the publication list this will be: Ass03 Assafiri, Y. and others, (2003). Double ... photoproduction on the proton at GRAAL. Phys. Rev. Lett., 90:222001. I would like to replace "and others" by "et~al.". Best regards Michael

Hi Taco and all, I found a temporary solution: Given a \start-\stopnarrower environment like =============================================== \definestartstop [quote] [before={\startnarrower[1*middle]\blank[big]}, after={\stopnarrower\blank[big]}] =============================================== Then the following will avoid the overfull box: =============================================== \let\normalinmargin\inmargin \def\inmargin#1{{\parindent0pt \normalinmargin{#1}}} \def\INMARGIN#1{\advance\leftskip by -2\parindent \inmargin{#1} \advance\rightskip by -2\parindent} =============================================== Of course this solution is not general, and depends on the actual setup of \start-\stopnarrower. The general problem with \inmargin appears to be that all parindents need to be reset. I could not find a correct way to incorporate my solution above into Taco's original definition. Hi Taco, Ok your hack works for small files but in my larger work this is causing TeX's capacity to overload (indeed, I don't think I've run into this particular overload message before; does the `255' signify some ceiling here?): ======================================================= ! BibTeX problem (all refs are [??])

Hello, I've the feeling that I miss something obvious, but currently t-bib does not work at all; I mean tex runs and bibtex happily creates the .bbl file, but I get "cite argument myReference unknown". I have: texexec : TeXExec 5.2.3 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2004 texutil : TeXUtil 9.0.0 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1992-2004 tex : pdfeTeX, 3.14159-1.10b-2.1 (Web2C 7.4.5) context : ver: 2005.01.06 cont-en : ver: 2005.01.06 fmt: 2005.1.8 mes: english And t-bib.tex claims "version=2005.01.04". In the TeX file: \usemodule[bib] \setupbibtex[database=JHund] \setuppublications[alternative=aps] \setuppublications[numbering=yes,refcommand=num] ... \cite[phd:Haverkort:2005] ... \placepublications In the log file: publications : loading database from JHund.bbl (./JHund.bbl) systems : begin file JHund at line 8 publications : warning: cite argument phd:Haverkort:2005 unknown on 61 But: grep phd:Haverkort JHund.bbl \startpublication[k=phd:Haverkort:2005,t=phdthesis, Any ideas? Search Path

Hi all, I've become rather confused on how ConTeXt searches paths so I made a quick example... Attached is ConTest.zip which expands to a trivial directory layout for a project. ConTest/env_test.tex ConTest/prd_one ConTest/prd_one/cmp_aaa ConTest/prd_one/cmp_aaa/cmp_aaa.tex ConTest/prd_one/cmp_aaa/tbl_aaa.tex ConTest/prd_one/cmp_bbb ConTest/prd_one/cmp_bbb/cmp_bbb.tex ConTest/prd_one/prd_one.tex ConTest/prd_two ConTest/prd_two/cmp_ccc ConTest/prd_two/cmp_ccc/cmp_ccc.tex ConTest/prd_two/cmp_ddd ConTest/prd_two/cmp_ddd/cmp_ddd.tex ConTest/prd_two/prd_two.tex ConTest/prj_test.tex My problems: (1) I generally like to keep tables, figures and even some complicated equations in separate input files so that I can easily move the files between different projects (i.e. papers for publications, internal docs, grant applications, etc). More often than not, my 'tbl_*' files are symlinks. In this example I use: \input tbl_aaa.tex within the file cmp_aaa.tex to illustrate my problem. Namely, I cannot find the file tbl_aaa.tex when generating either prj_test.tex or prd_one.tex? I've tried a variety of commands in place of input, including the various readfile commands but nothing I've tried can make ConTeXt find this file. (2) Can someone please explain what \usepath[] and \usesubpath[] are for and what the difference between the two is? I've read many messages that refer to these but have yet to find a true example showing their use. Their names suggest they may be useful in the case but as the attached files suggest, I've been unable to figure out what to do with them. (3) I've largely switched over my figures to using the image database (aka resource libraries?). Is it currently possible to create databases of equations and/or tables? Using fonts of an existing TeX-Installation

Dear readers of this list, I have a working recent (La)TeX and ConTeXt installation. I have added several commercial PostScript fonts and can use them with (La)TeX. The font files of those fonts are in directories under texmf-local/fonts (afm, tfm, vf, type1), that is, as suggested by TeXFont manual for ConTeXt. However, following the TeXFont manual for ConTeXt, do I have to reinstall them from scratch for ConTeXt starting with the pfb- and afm-files from texmf-local/fonts/source, or can I use the already distributed pfb- and afm-files? Does a reinstallation interfer with the existing font installation for (La)TeX?
