The following does not work? Everything is fine if I replace the nath module with amsl. Any suggestions on how to make this work. \usemodule[nath] \starttext \startalign a &= \underbrace{b}_{c} \\ c &= d \stopalign \stoptext Thanks, Aditya

Hi This is still in the same line as my effort to make SciTE work flawlessly with ConTeXt. Accoridng to Hans's last email on the subject, I thought that I have to install Lua and Python on my Win XP machine too. So I did. Lua seems to be a very small program. Am I right? I installed version 5.1 for Win32 and it has only 4 files, of which 3 are .exe files and one is a .dll. In my try to make things to work, now even my TeX files don't compile. The structure of my files is like this: 1) context.properties is in the same path as SciTEUser.properties and the latter file has only one line in it: import context 2) All other context-*-scite.properties files are in the main folder of SciTE. 3) I noticed that there should be come file scite-ctx.properties in one of the directories. I have put it in the main SciTE folder. Is that the right place? 4) Isn't there some other ctx files that should be copied to the main SciTE folder? Where can I get those? I didn't find those in the MikTeX implementation on my machine? 5) As soon as I press F7 in the output view I get: >texmfstart concheck.rb myfile.tex unknown file type: texmfscripts >Exit code: 0 No output is being generated. Sorry to take your time with this issue. It might sound simple to some people, but it actually isn't that simple. I will write about my experiences later on when I am done with the setup. placefloat

(1) My intention was to place some material into the left margin on the page, but did not succeed. Using \startmarginblock ... \stopmarginblock resulted in placement in the margin to the right, could not get it to the left. The I experimented with the placeffloat mechanism and didn't succeed either. Tested with the following example: \starttext \definefloat[sidenote][sidenotes] This is the text before in the body of the document. \placesidenote[inleft]{abc}{margintext} This is the text after in the body of the document. \page on page two. \stoptext Summary of the results for the [position] parameter with the values given in the ConTeXt manual Table 12.1. (a) in most cases the caption just appears in the middle of the page, not below the float. (b) some values seem to work ok, these are here, top, bottom, page, opposite (appears 2 pages later), always, force. (c) some values do not work or even give a TeX error: -- left margintext appears on the right side of the page (same as leftaligned?) -- right idem on the left side -- inleft the margintext and the caption seem to disappear completely -- inright the caption is not seen, margintext appears on the right side -- inmargin gives error undefined \doinmarginnormal -- margin gives error too many }'s (2) Second question. Is there a mechanism whereby one can force the float to at least the next page when there is no room for it below the current point on the page? This is useful for example when a figure belongs to the text of which only a few lines are on the current page. I tried: --------------<cut>--------------- \setupindenting[next,yes,big] \starttext fajkhfkldjglfd FJHDLKSGJLKDS \stoptext --------------<knip>-------------- but both paragraphs as not indented. * * * In addition, I have the problem that -------------- \chapter{foo} bar -------------- is printed as | 1 foo |bar i.e. the "1 foo" starts too far at the right * * * The first problem I also see using http://live.contextgarden.net/, the other not. palatino fonts

Hi, In a previous post, sjoerd mentioned fonts from the "tower of babel project" (russia). http://newstar.rinet.ru/downl.php?lan=en#dict There you can also download fonts, like some palatino and a cjk font. To me it looks quite illegal: the palatino variant has indeed over 2500 glyphs but also contains copyright notices (heidelberg/linotype as well as microsoft). When fonts lack glyphs one normally may make companions, but that;s not the case here: same name, probably same glyphs as in the original. i wonder why they were not yet taken off line. Stealing fonts happens, but here they didn't even bother to disguise the original name and author. Ok, I may be wrong and it may be a donation to the project, but even then it should be mentioned in the copyryright. (Somehow I'm pretty sure that the designer of the Palatino (Hermann Zapf) is not aware or this rip-off.) LInotype now ships the Palatino Nova, but that does not mean that the old one is obsolete and free. Technically you can configure the context unicode handler to take chars from multiple fonts, so my advise is to use another font or a combination of fonts. Maybe it's worth investigating which free fonts contain the glyphs you need. last natural table column longer

Hello Wizards, my multi page (and multicolumn) table exceeds the last page by 2 rows. Is there a way to make last column a bit longer? Referencing an align environment

All, I tried: \placeformula[eq:twosolve] \startformula \startalign[m=3] 3-2x&>-1 &&\qor& 3-2x&<1\\ -2x&>-4 &&& -2x&<-2\\ x&<2 &&& x&>1 \stopalign \stopformula As we see in (\in[eq;twosolve]), ... But that didn't work. Suggestions?

Align a compound inequality

All, I have: \placeformula[-] \startformula \startalign[m=2] 3-2x&<-1 & 3-2x&>1\\ -2x&<-4 & -2x&>-2\\ x&>2 & x&<1 \stopalign \stopformula And it works. However, I want to sqeeze the word "or" between the inequalities on the first row so that it reads: 3 - 2x < -1 or 3 - 2x > 1 How can I do this? I am not sure what m and n are meant to do with this code. Hans said n=n_of_columns and m=n_of_pairs, but I am not sure what these mean as relates to my problem above. Ideas?
