How do you position/move a MPgraphic?

Hi! How do you position/move a MPgraphic? Let us us say that you have the MPgraphics "somebackground" and "somecolorcircle" (See example below). These MPgraphics are both framed and used as a background, upon which "sometext" is written on. How can you freely move or position "somecolorcircle"? ( I want to move "somecolorcircle" below "sometext") Naturally, I have read Metafun and tried "shifted (x,y)", \definelayer, \setlayer, register, \setMPlayer, \getMPlayer... In general, if you have defined two or more MPgraphics how do you position them (In my case "somebackground" is fixed while "somecolorcircle" could be anywhere on "somebackground")? How would you solve this? references to footnotes are broken in mkiv

Hi all, the following example produces the correct reference in mkii but no reference in mkiv. Has anything changed, or is this a bug? Thanks Thomas \starttext A text\footnote[fnt:1]{A footnote} with a reference\footnote[fnt:2] {Another one} to a \in[fnt:2] footnote. \stoptext

Simple Newbie Question.

I'm hoping the answer to this question should be obvious, but I'm having no luck with it. I'm trying to do a layout for a 1-page datasheet. At the very bottom of the page, in some tiny font, I need to put a copyright notice and datasheet ID number. Ideally I'd like to define some fixed text block containing the text (as its exact size and font have not yet been finalized), and then somehow define the height of the footer to be exactly equal to the height of the text block. Once I've done that, I need to place the text in the footer. interstrutline spacing [with tex file!]

[oops, tex file attached this time] Dear gang, I am trying to create a grid background based on strut depth, so each line of text lies right in between the top and bottom of the respective strut. I borrowed some code from the wiki, and need help to solve the following [and I'm no metapost guru...]: 1. Line 31, 2nd line of pdf: How can I keep \framed[align={r2l,middle}] and get the interstrutline to still span the textwidth. In other words, every strutline should be of textwidth, regardless of alignment 2. Compare pages 2 and 3: page 2 has extra space at the top, perhaps a skipped line. How can I suppress that so that the first line always starts at the top of the textblock? 3. On page 3: How can I control the continuation of the strutlines past the final textline? What if, eg, I wanted to fill the rest of the page with strutlines? 4. How can I change the width and color of the strutline itself? 5. I use \setuplayout[grid=on], but I'm not sure that guarantees a grid ... \start-\stoplinecorrection seems to give a different result. [\showgrid seems broken so I can't directly compare]. Any tips to guarantee a grid? 6. Is there a way to pass the interstrutline background to \framed [so I don't have to type \start-\stopinterstrutline etc]? This kind of gridded background is very common in eg, the Arabic-script tradition, although it has many pedagogical and other uses as well. A general strutline mechanism might make a good addition to the distribution, or at least a nice module... Any help or tips to improve this background will be greatly appreciated! Hi all, Just want to notice that I found a wiki with sheet music - wikifonia.org. The interesting things are that 1) sheets are engraved using Lilypond. 2) sheets are re-built on the fly, when you e.g. transpose them. How it could be so fast? (probably cached) Regards, Vyatcheslav

fonts disappear sometimes

Dear list, I just installed the latest minimals, together with Wolfgangs typescript files. 1) If I put the type-script files in /home/mickep/ConTeXt/tex/texmf-local/tex/context/third/typescripts/ then they are not used at all, although luatools -find-file type-adobe.tex gives /home/mickep/ConTeXt/tex/texmf-local/tex/context/third/typescripts/type-adobe.tex 2) If I put the type-adobe.{tex,mkii,mkiv} files in the same directory as the document, then the following happens: Compiling this minimal document (saved as mytest.tex): \usetypescriptfile[type-adobe.tex] % load the typescript file \usetypescript[minion] % load the typescript \setupbodyfont[minion,12pt] %\setupbodyfont[minion,14pt] \starttext Test \stoptext I get an empty document, but no error. If I comment the 12pt line and uncomment the 14pt line then it works and I get the Minion fonts!! Bib/bibtex duplicate entries

Hi! I am new to ConTeXt and juste created my first document, however there seems to be a strange behaviour in the output. Indeed I see a lot of duplicated bibliography entries. Moreover using sort=author did not sort the list. My document layout is as follows: usemodule[bib] \setupbibtex[database=thesis,sort=author] \starttext \startbodymatter \chapter{} \section{} \subsection{} \subsubsubject{} ... \stopbodymatter \startappendices \chapter{Bibliography} \placepublications[criterium=all] \stopappendices \stoptext I am using texlive-2009, LuaTeX beta-0.43.0-2009081914. Simplest slides

Hi everybody, I would like to be able to make very simple slides with ConTeXt, and I need a template. I would be very grateful if someone could point me to one. Think Apple's Keynotes or Lawrence Lessig's presentations. Plain background, not too much stuff on the slides whenever possible. If you need a more concrete example, here it is: http://archive.gpfreitas.net/work/seminars/en/sisl/turingt-pres.pdf It's just that I am experimenting with taking notes while I read a paper, and make a presentation direct from the notes. compiling cont-eni
