Times Roman

I want to set up Times-Roman at 12pt as my body font. Following (but not understanding) the advice in "Fonts in Context" I set up the following: \definebodyfont[12pt][rm][tf=Serif sa 1] \definefontsynonym[Serif][Times-Roman] \definefontsynonym [Times-Roman] [tir] [encoding=texnansi] \switchtobodyfont[pos,tir] \rm As a result Acrobat Reader shows these fonts in the document: TeXGyreCursor-Regular (Embedded Subset) TeXGyreTermes-Regular (Embedded Subset) 1.Is the document using Times-Roman? 2. Are any of the above statements duplicative, redundant or just plain wrong? 3. Is there a more up to date guide than "Fonts in Context"? -- John Culleton

I created a sample sheet of accent marks using Context. I used Bitstream Charter as the font (bchr8r). The following combination didn't work: \t{uu} My examples were taken from page 71 of "Context an Excursion". -- John Culleton

problem with package.path

mp clippath broken (mkiv)

sort-lan.lua nitpicks and sorting

Hi again, 1. In sort-lan.lua, line 101 should read «['r'] = "r"», and line 144 «['r'] = 26, -- r». 2. Although I read the disclaimer about said file being “preliminary and incomplete” -- is there some rationale behind the range of integers for each language mapping? The mapping for English goes from 1 to 51, interleaving 2 integers for each letter (which is odd because it should start from index 3 with “a”, shouldn't it?), while the Czech one goes from 1 to 40 without skipping, Finnish and Austrian from 1 to 58. What about mapping them onto a larger but common scale that would alleviate multilingual sorting so that the alphabetical representation of the phoneme /a/ maps to the same value over different languages?† E.g. ["a"] = 3, -- in a Latin mapping, ["α"] = 3, -- in Greek mapping, ["а"] = 3, -- in a Russian mapping. 3. Is it intended that the digraph “ch” resolves (temporarily) to http://www.fileformat.info/info/unicode/char/ff01/index.htm according to line 72? Feel free to state more general opinions on the sorting topic as I am playing with different ways of sorting my bibliography. Running standalone metapost file omits spaces between btex and etex

I found that the following example \starttext \startuseMPgraphic{test} draw btex some text with space etex; \stopuseMPgraphic \useMPgraphic{test} \stoptext can generate the text between "btex" and "etex" correct no matter I use MKII or MKIV. But, when I running the following example beginfig(0); draw btex some text with space etex; endfig; end with the command line: $ mpost --mem=metafun test.mp or $ texexec --mptex test.mp It dose generate output. But the output omits all the spaces between btex and etex, with the resulting string to be "sometextwithspace". So, the question is how to get the correct results when running standalong metapost file with btex-etex strings. Thanks.

register confusion

Finding simple \at[] statements inadequate for glossaries (where there might be zero, one, or several page references per entry), I'm experimenting with registers, but I'm not getting the expected results: \defineregister[glind][glinds] \setupregister[glind][style=\it] \setupinteraction[state=start] \starttext double\glind[double]{} \page single\glind[single]{} \page double\glind[double]{} \page single should read, '2': (p.\placeglind[single]) double should read, '1, 3': (pp.\placeglind[double]) zero should be blank: (\placeglind[zero]) \stoptext Note the problems: 1. \placeglind[label] doesn't point to the label, it points to any label. 2. Context forces a linebreak before and after the numbers. 3. The numbers aren't italic. Also, it would be nice to set 'p.', 'pp.', or nothing automatically, depending on whether there was one, several or zero instances of the label in the text. Is register not the mechanism to do this? If not, I don't know what is.

PPCHTEX with PSTricks option

The minimal example shows diagonal lines. Since the line output of pictex is limited, I would choose PSTricks as output driver for better quality. When I enable the pstricks option, these diagonal lines collide with the radical atoms. You can easily reproduce this by removing the % comment symbol. How can we improve the postscript output. Any hints are appreciated.
